  1. Obviously I feel the same. Thing is that despite its death, the car is slated to have enuff inventory to go into 2020. I would propose that Cadillac kill all the lower models and only have the mid to platinum models. And for all Cadillacs.. Be done with that rubberized steering wheel cover. Go with the one I have in my V, covered in leather.
  2. Quite frankly I’ve seen some bonehead moves in the auto industry over the last 35 years.. but this one might just take the cake. I’m not gonna speak on crazy comebacks that didn’t get enough attention and they crashed and burned like the Oldsmobile debacle.. and how GM was gonna rename the company Aurora.. put out class leading cars like the Aurora, Intrigue and Alero.. then killed the division. We won’t talk about the super cool Trofeo Toronada.. or the bend to tree-huggers with killing Hummer instead of simply merging it with GMC. Naaaah.. I’m not gonna bring up the fact that they killed the unanimously voted best sports sedan Chevy SS.. but instead of saying “hey We have this great new platform for mid and fullsize vehicle in Alpha and Omega.. we could merge the almost as great Impala with this vehicle.. give it AWD options and engines from 4-8 cyclinders and absolutely STAB the market.” Hell they could have even went the opposite way and simply given the Impala all the options of the XTS from start, and detuned the engine for argument sake. I won’t even whisper about the fact that they had all of us luxury shoppers wishing and waiting for a full size RWD/AWD Cadillac that absolutely made us proud.. gave us one.. then turned around and gave it a super V8 engine as we had begged them for.. and hen they killed it!!! OH Wait.. That’s exactly what I’m gonna talk about. This morning I took my 2016 CTS-V to the dealership for a simple Recall procedure. No parts were exchanged, just a reprogram I’m told. The recall was for the steering module. All in all I dropped it off at 9am and they called me at 12p to let me know that it was complete. Of course I wasn’t able, nor willing to go back there to pick up my beautiful Rose. I had meeting all day, not to mention they loaned me a pristine, well equipped Black Raven 2018 CT6 Premium Luxury with Super-Cruise and a 3.6L V6. The Drive: I have driven the CT6 before, but not once had I ever driven a 3.6L for anything other than a quick test drive. The engine I’m most familiar with is the 3.0lTT, which was not on the menu today. I do have to say that if I were in charge of Cadillac’s engine choices, the 3.6L would not be in any of their cars. I say this for superficial reasons only. As a way of differentiation... I believe that Cadillac should only have forced induction offering. What that means is that in a CT6, a car coming in with a 122.4 inch Wheelbase, 204 inches long and curb weight varying from 3700-4400lbs, a 3.0LTTV6 (404HP) would be the base, and the upcoming two iterations of the 4.2L TTV8 would be its mid (500HP) and top (550HP) engine choices. All that being said.. the 3.6L actually moves this vehicle around quite well with a mere 335HP. I mean really well. That’s coming from a guy who dropped off a 650HP mid-sizer before hopping in this humongous automobile. And speaking of which. Driving the CT6 even with just 335HP, and all that length, I never felt as though I were driving a big car. Take a drive in an LS460, S-Class, 7series, or fat ass Audi A8.. U actually feel like U are driving a big car. No the case with the CT6. I almost felt like I was still maneuvering my CTS, a car that is almost 8 inches shorter. Super-Cruise: Wow. Check out my video. This is something else. I will say that GM lawyers were definitely consulted on this, but even with their certain input, the tech really works.
  3. Here's a thought.. How much is labor in China vs US. A bunch in sure, but with the supposed new trade agreement there will be no tariff in exports to China from US.. Hey GM.. Build the CT6 here for US and China and keep the 900+ buyers per month happy. My V is at the dealership now for a recall on the steering module. They have me in CT6 3.6l with Super-Cruise. I will post a review tonight or tomorrow. Let's just say that we are really missing out of they really kill this car. I've driven the 3.0TT in the past but this my first time in the 3.6.. It too is seriously swift to be in such a large AWD vehicle
  4. YES.. they would. The IG Metall members in Sindelfingen would probably, and literally kick the S#!+ outta U if U did. Their families too.. because they know that their economy is dependent on that purchase. Looking at U people in DETROIT who drive anything other than a GM or Ford. Effin IDIOTS we as Americans are. Imagine the idea of an actual person buying a Toyota Sequoia over a Tahoe. Makes no sense in any reasonable way. Only Americans I think Anyway.. the Aviator.. the Aviator is the first vehicle I have seen from Ford that actually makes me scared for Cadillac in terms of luxury. I can take an XT5 and genuinely have no issue over buying it versus an GLC or RX, and always feel like I have a superior luxo CUV in all ways unless we thru in the AMG version.... where again.. Cadillac has the full capability to take that vehicle down and doesn't by simply equipping it with a LGX. THE QUESTION IS SIMPLE AND PLAIN.. WILL GM SIMPLY TAKE A LOOK AT THE AVIATOR AND NAVIGATOR AND SAY "SCREW IT.. LETS BEAT 'EM. " When the current CTS debuted.. and then the CT6.. I truly believed that there were zero doubts. The death of the CT6 , or the news of it is what is scaring every one of us.
  5. Like I said before.. zero reason why there shouldn't be one for Cadillac. Its a no brainer, if for no other reasons than Halo effect and plant utilization. Not to mention the FE Corvette will continue to be in production.. probably because this C8 is gonna cost north of $130K I bet. If its anything less.. it will be the bargain of a lifetime, and interesting enuff.. that's not good
  6. I hope they knock this one out the park. The XT6. There is literally ZERO reason for them to eff it up. Formula.. the extremely nice Buick Avenir Enclave.. Upgraded Cadillac leathers, Cadillac style.. 9 Speed tranny... MRC.. new faster "CUE..." (yeah I know).. and to really get a WOW.. make the Platinum available with a certain V8..
  7. while almost identical.. these are not the same. Look at the surface. With the Caddy fob being smooth and the Vette one being more rough and sporty. Even the surround of the Caddy seems more luxo
  8. Oh no doubt. In fact that would be perfect, and a splash that would send the brand on high. JESUS!!! Did U read what U wrote? That would be fantastic! AWD and Electric.. of course I would still have an optional 4.2L TTV8 for the hold outs.. which would be simply insane. so three? but a forth could also be in there as the words I read were always "THRU 2020." XT6 is one.. I wish that replacement vehicles were not included.
  9. Cause MT, C&D, Jalopnik, Truth About Cars.. etc will SCREAM IT FROM THE ROOFTOPS that GM is doing it. Now.. me personally.. I'm hoping that Cadillac is keeping the CT6 and just changing the name as I said before. Call it CT6=Escala. Change the back.. I would scoop this up in a NY sec
  10. Problem is.. that only because its GM would anyone know. Seriously.. I've never seen a company that inspires so much press about what it does for Americans.. while at the same times have American openly say how much they hate GM..not even for the cars.. just because. Either way.. the average American.. if GM were to properly market the vehicle.. hell the way they are currently doing with the XT4.. they could sell 3X what they have been.. As Americans don't really care where the car comes from.. just look at Volvo. Sales numbers technically and surprisingly are a lot considering the segment. 808 per month as of Sept.. vs 681 per month for the 7 Series 741 for the Lexus LS 284 for the Audi A8 and A7 COMBINED.. (I said the Audi A8+A7 have only sold 2560 units this whole year combined and GM is king the CT6 for selling 7272?) BTW.. I never could figure out how they expected the CTS or the CT6 to truly show a real un-touched number with the vehicles being so closely aligned in either size or price. The XTS and the CTS we exactly the same price.. while the CT6 and XTS were damn near the same size.. visually the were exactly the same size.. and after the exterior redo of the XTS recently.. even I had to do a double take to tell the difference.
  11. There is a guy over at GMAuthority who says Cadillac just lost him as a customer because they are going to stop making a big Cadillac. He owns a 2010.. I said 2010.. a 9 year old Cadillac and he says this.. THIS IS HOW IDIOTIC PEOPLE ARE. I responded with: My name over there is MiatsoCi No offense.. but GM/Cadillac built 2 large sedans for U.. for the last 3(2016-2019 CT6) and 6(2013-2019 XTS) years. Both have won gobs of praise. One is literally a superior version of your DTS, while one is a direct competitor to the S550 (3.0LPlatinum CT6) and U still haven’t bought.. maybe.. they just tired of waiting. BTW.. there are still new XTSs and CT6s on the showroom floor til the end of 2019… a year that hasn’t even happened yet. My name is Cmicasa the GreatXvX.. and I approve this message LOL
  12. and I love the sport back.. Hence.. DEATH!!! I maintain that when the Verano was selling it was actually more profitable.. Even worse is that the Cruze offers everything the Malibu and even Impala have.. 'cept its smaller and cheaper. Why??? Why can Toyota get away with offering a Corolla which is fundamentally the same car as it was 20 years ago??? Because it doesn't market it as anything other than BASIC. If GM had of marketed the Cruze as a basic car and not some mini Impala I think that they could have gotten away with lessening content, thus improving profits. Shoot.. I'd go so far as to say that U only have the newest workers assembling Cruzes just because U pay them less due to the UAW contract.
  13. Lmfao if they come out and say.. "JDN came up with that naming scheme, for the trucks it was cool.. But the the CTS, ATS are keeping their names.. Oh.. The CT6 is only being sold in China, but we'll be selling an identical car here as the new XTS" ?
  14. Because they have the Camaro and Corvette combo.. not to mention performance on the top end and middle with the Regal GS and AT2 and CTS. Honda/Acura doesn't have that.. even with the NSX in limited supply Toyota doesn't have that.. even with the RC and SC. Nissan is the only one that comes close with their combination of the 370z and GTR.. and come on.. a 370Z can't eff with a Camaro all thru out the ranges.. and a GTR barely runs with a GS let alone a Z06 and ZR1
  15. I think that over the years.. I have proved that in the end.. I really couldn't give a flying *** what most people think.. So IT IS SEXY. The majority of publications are populated by nerdy slob yuppies who automatically use terms like "Cadillac is back," "Its not your grandfather's Buick," "I can't believe this is a Ford.." etc.. I've been proving them wrong on their bull$h! for years, proving that PAYOLA is a alive and well at MT, C&D, and R&T.. that Consumer Reports is anti-Domestic.. and that Jalopnik are a a bunch of goofy dweebs. For every one of those $h!ty allusions.. I could say if Cadillac never left.. they just took a break.. WTF is happening over at the "Bord"rooms of Toyota, with such boring mediocrity coming from Lexus and Benz. Is it true that the CLA is actually a Benz with Nissan origins? .. or Buick's for old people.. have U seen who's driving BMWs and Audis these days??? Look between the seats and all U see are gray hairs. Fords are unreliable??? Heck outta here.. Honda's transmission issues are things of legend.. the boys at Nissan should be worried more about the quality of an Altima than the stuff Carlos Ghosn is reporting or his narcissism As to the other cars in the segment... brah.., the truth of the matter is that outside of a top hi-po version of whatever was out.. they are all run of the mill in many people's eyes overall. Nobody's getting laid cause they pulled up in a Civic, Corolla, Cruze, Maz3 etc. And NOW.. GM has finally WISED THE HELL UP. It paid back its loans.. served this country for over a century... and what have some done??? Went out and bought other countries' cars after they had a few missteps. Well I have it on good authority that Toyota tried to kill people by slamming the accelerator too much and before that.. grenading engines by sludging them up.. Honda's glass trannies, and super embedding in the Takata thing.. Nissan's are the Chrysler of Japan.. nuff said.. Fiats??? REALLY? They earned the name of FIX IT AGAIN TONY for a reason.. nothing has changed in 50 years. Land Rover? Sure they can go off road.. but when they get there.. they need a Chevy or a Ford to pull them out. Not because of the suspensions system, but because they turned off, and wouldn't start back up. Mercedes? They are the epitome of luxury now right.. WRONG!!! Have U been in an E-Class, let alone a C or CLA.. GLA.. GLC.. GLE.. U HAVE TO BUY THE DESIGNO INTERIOR or U are stick in an interior that barely usurps my CHEVY IMPALA'S as luxury Like I said they wised up! Stopped offering Factory Welfare to the masses that went out and spent that money in Japan, Korea, and Germany. Imagine that.. Ta hell with self preservation . Its what those German VW buyers do. Americans factory workers will use their unemployment check to pay the salary of an actual employees worker over in Korea.. , because U see.. even if Hyundai builds their car here.. they still use those profits to help fund the operations of the HQ in Korea.. including employees thru-out the world.
  16. Cruze was/is an awesome car.. at one time led the market in sales... led the market in fuel economy.. led the market in content.. GM as always when it comes to low profit vehicles... chose not to advertise it. U can bet one thing.. if GM is advertising it.. it is either BRAND NEW.. or HIGH PROFIT. Now.. I like how suddenly the idea that MAZDA is so great just because they are keeping the 3.. NEWSFLASH!!! MAZDA is about a 1/5 the size of GMNA.. Also.. the market line-up looks better.. again.. I just wish that the CRUZE name would have have simply moved to the Sonic. As it stands Chevy will have: Spark, Sonic, Trax, Bolt, Malibu, Equinox, Blazer, Traverse, Tahoe, Suburban, and Trucks. There is also another suv coming from what I hear Cadillac by 2020: CT3, CT5, XT4, XT5, XT6, Escalade.. and if they are still doing the "new product every 6 months and U still count the CT3 and 5.. there are at least two-three more vehicles being intro'ed by '20, one of which is obviously the XT6 That being said.. some else has pointed out that Cadillac will have no performance vehicles.. when at the worst case they will have EXACTLY the amount of performance vehicles they have RIGHT NOW.. as the CT6-V is not out for another 6 months again.. this is a sexy lil whip.. and she actually got rid of her Equinox to get it. I actually contemplated finding a wrecked Verano turbo and snatching the engine to supe this lil thing up.. It gets around with just 138HP, and I swear more if U use Premium gas.. but with 250 it would be crazy fun
  17. Corvair was awesome.. Especially the Spyder. Either way.. The Cobalt SS is still a car to run.. And my daughter's Cruze has been awesome and looks great. While I am cool with the current looks of the Cruze.. Her Cruze is much "sexier" and GM could have continued with the look for another 5. Hell the Verano's turbo power train would have fixed a lot of perception problems in it not having an SS model.
  18. Annnnnnnd THAT'S where I stopped. U are full of information Dwight, but unfortunately talking to U is like talking to the Saints and they don't recognize that Cowboys have Defense. U are one sided.. and that's not a true sign of knowing
  19. OK>.. finally I can agree to some degree.. THERE NEVER WAS A JUSTIFICATION for Spark, a Sonic, a Cruze, AND VOLT, a Malibu and an Impala.. AND SS. Some one should have proposed 7 years ago that the drawing board should show a Sonic (replacement for the sub-compact Aveo) should be the book end of the car spectrum.. no Spark.. with the TRAX as a Sonic CUV. The CRUZE should have been a Cruze and a Cruze PHEV. The Malibu was fine.. and the Impala and SS should have been a singular car for all intents a Pontiac G8 CLONE (all available HP levels of the Pontiac) on Alpha-L starting in 2014 with the debut of the CTS or on Ep2Premium (XTS-LaX) with available AWD like those two models.. while for the SS model have the LGX detuned for the sake of argument to 380HP. Size cost money due to perception and maximizing profits. In truth.. the Impala, LaX, and XTS are profitable.. but not as profitable without the XTS.
  20. I'm not opposed to any of those things for the sake of self gain.. but only a fool will argue that there is no negative aspects to continuing a reliance on fossil fuels. It could easily be argued tho that U are certainly more in league with such conservative organizations than I with any liberal ones. Like, for instance, I own plenty of firearms , and support the 2nd... but I don't need to go around announcing on a car forum that "I'm the NRA." Back to the negative aspects of oil.. drilling for one.. Continuous drilling leads to other problems. Its been seriously discussed by leading scientists that continuous drilling, fracking etc.. are part of the reason why we may be speeding up plate shifts in the Earths outer crust
  21. Far as I have heard its pretty sporty.. Strong V6 engine with over 305HP and maxing out at 4200lbs. The platform is known to be a great handler.. and even against the GC 360hp V8, which comes in at 800lbs more.. the Blazer should be able to run well against it.
  22. It is seriously estimated that there is about 52 years left.. that's 2070.. oil reserves left on the Planet Earth. Yes.. we have a little time base don current world population.. but what happens if population explodes again.. or there is a massive war? Why are we considering or even talking about neglecting a move into alternative propulsion systems? Furthermore.. where's the harm unless U are a lobbyist or employee of Exxon-Mobil and the like? If still If GM is the only company that breaks away from oil based cars.. which I still don't see happening for more than 20% of their line-up.. for at least another 10-15 years based on their current rate of movement.. then so be it.. U still have many other companies that will gladly continue building liquid fuel consuming ICEs. I am no tree hugger by any means.. and wouldn't consider a f@#kin Prius if my life depended on it.. I'm a known car guy.. and high horsepower gas drinkers are my goto.. with 2 S/C V8 cars, and 2 NA V8s in my stable..
