  1. That's a pretty good-looking interior. It's amazing what GM can do when they put their minds to it.
  2. Only a few more years until AARP starts sending you birthday mail! Happy Birthday, PCS.
  3. Styling, first and foremost. I will not look into, let alone buy a car that I don't like inside and out. Good handling. I never, ever want to drive something as sloppy and vague as my cousin's 2004 Sienna. So, that means I would prefer RWD, but would look into something FWD if it handled well. The availability of a 6-cylinder. I don't want a 4 unless gas gets really crazy, and as much as I enjoy V8s, I think one would be too much for my needs. Besides, 6-cylinders sound more interesting, IMO. Console shift. I hate column shifts. Creature comforts...leather upholstery, auto climate control, auto-dimming rearview mirror, compass & outside temperature display, trip odometer, Bose or similar sound system, sunroof, reasonably quiet ride, keyless entry, that sort of thing. NAV isnt' necessary. They're cool and all, but I think I'd just save that money for something else. The option of a manual transmission, or at the very least, an auto with manual shifting. A nice set of rims.
  4. Another Olds joins the fold! Congrats, she looks good!
  5. spurt (As in arterial spurt, a type of blood spatter. My forensics class was really interesting, if a bit morbid at times.)
  6. Maybe this is just a ploy by GM to get another high-mileage car in its fleet for CAFE purposes. The G3 is lamer than lame, but if its presence on dealer lots allows Pontiac to continue offering the G8 and assorted variants, it might not be a bad thing at all.
  7. Nice find. I'm so jealous of those seats.
  8. Congrats! I graduated from high school on Tuesday...quite the feeling.
  9. This sounds almost like what went on with the NG minivans: canceled before even given a chance. I suppose it's not as bad, though, since GM is keeping Lambda on the books. Such an egregious waste of precious money.
  10. You know, I don't think I'm mad because GM isn't giving Buick a RWD sedan. It is a bit disappointing. But I find that I'm more irked at the fact that GM spent $1 billion to develop the Zeta platform (which is consistently being hailed for its stellar driving dynamics--but that's beside my point) and then turn around and hardly use it. It's not a sound decision at all from a financial standpoint, especially considering money is becoming ever-tighter within the company.
  11. My first G8 (on the road). It was a GT in Panther Black...with what looked uncomfortably like a barcode in the rear window . Not to worry, though: the local BPG dealer has received a new shipment to supplement their lone Magnetic Grey V6...there's orange, red, white, blue, and silver examples on the lot. Also, I saw these on Saturday: My favorite is the last one...the last time that parking lot looked like that was probably over 40 years ago.
  12. Eh, I think there's some good stuff from The Black Album (namely Enter Sandman, Nothing Else Matters, and The God That Failed), but I'd agree that St. Anger was a disappointment. I Won't See You Tonight, Parts I & II - Avenged Sevenfold
  13. This afternoon, I tried to make some Hong Kong style milk tea for my mom, but we didn't have any evaporated milk, and the can of condensed milk we had expired in January of 1999. So I ended up making a blend of English breakfast tea, some type of orange and black tea, and milk, and served it in the heart-shaped "I Love My Mother" mug. I'm glad it's the thought that counts with her. Dinner turned out much better, I made chicken marsala over angel hair with brocoli, strawberries, and attempted to write "Happy MD" (for Mother's Day) on top of a Schwann's turtle pie with white M&M's.
  14. This morning on US-1 in Beltsville, I saw a white current-generation Jetta, only it was a wagon. It was wearing what looked like a body kit from a Mk.V GTI and Michigan manufacturer's plates. Others: -red Ferrari 456 GTA -silver 996-based 911 -silver Alfa Romeo Spider 2000 -dark grey Triumph Spitfire 1500 -black Lexus GS400 with Michigan manufacturer plates -tired old burgundy Olds Acheiva with Ontario handicapped plates and, a grey new Tundra extended cab, 5.7L V8 and what not, with a little green Enterprise "e" sticker on the bottom left corner of the tailgate
  15. Dark grey Bentley Continental GT while waiting outside of the MD Science Center in Baltimore to see the Body Worlds exhibit.
  16. The Lottery was the first story I read and the first essay I wrote in English 10. Not my favorite story, but I've read worse (Lord of the Flies comes to mind).
  17. My school held a voter registration drive back in February, but I haven't gotten anything in the mail yet. :\ I registered as a Democrat, mainly because I wanted to be able to vote in the primaries. If MD allowed Independents to vote in the primary, I'd have registered as one.
  18. Some border patrol y'all have...getting into lower, slower Sussex County today was a breeze! knightfan, it seems like you'd be entering Maryland just as I'm leaving it for college. :\
  19. Stunning, inside and out. Much nicer than the Opel Blob.
  20. You must have seen the same one I saw yesterday...can't be too many of them in the state. Cornea-searing yellow coupe? It was a few cars behind me, heading north on I-95 just past Beltsville when I saw it. Also, a quaint upper-middle-age couple from Ontario, tooling around in a silvery Chevy Epica LT, doing what must've been 45 in the middle left lane of the Beltway.
