You guys are awful! Thanks for the happy wishes! I’ve been out of town for the past week and a half. Some for work, rest for vacation. I didn’t believe 30 was going to be a big deal, but I’m not taking it as well as I thought I would. 30 is a tough age. You pull out that mental check-list of ‘things to do’ and wonder why you haven’t been following it as closely as you thought you were. I still have plenty of time, but no time is better than the present. I need to stop procrastinating on a few things and become serious... but right after I get back from the bars and clubs. Thanks again guys. I'll have a shot for each of you!

I don't believe Sharkskin has been discontinued. I actually think my dealership has an 07 Lucerne in Sharkskin. Buick's website still shows it's available and it has been updated for 07.

I'm sorry to hear this. You and your family have my sympathy.

It does. Turn-By-Turn appears to be standard on Lucerne. The touch screen Navigation is optional on CXL (V6/V8) & CXS Lucernes. AM/FM stereo with Touchscreen Navigation: CD player, MP3 playback and DVD-based touch-screen navigation, seek-and-scan, digital clock, auto-tone control, speed-compensated volume and Theftlock

Oh! Looks like you made it to the Notre-Dame basilica. Beautiful isn't it! Not as nice as the real thing but something for the city to be proud of none-the-less. I had a great time when I went there last. Did you make it to The Village?

Oh come on Fly... Everyone needs a day where they can say "Me Too!?!" sarcasm

I recall several people on C&G predicting the Compass to be A HIT!!!!! Apparently the public can actually tell when they're looking at a fugly vehicle. Maybe the blinders are coming off.

I like the black foyer and even the green (black leather and dark wood furniture anchor the foyer) but beige walls leave me cold. Goldenrod would look much better in place of the beige (to draw the rooms closer.) Wine colored carpet would make it complete. Keep the white cabinets & appliances because they match the wood trim throughout the ground floor. Then again, it could just be the lighting. Don't worry, I have to be in the room before giving it a complete workover (I can't determine the kitchen countertop color.)

Did I miss a topic? Where were you at in this pic? That's the GM Futureliner??!!!!???!!!!?? Oh, and great pic! nice to see guys on C&G hooking up
-
Then again, I never pictured you one to complain about bulges.... I like the Z... but I prefer the G35 coupe. Nissan deserves praise since it returned to this market much quicker than Toyota.
-
I'm sure GM couldn't be happier... This way, GM won't appear to be abandoning their formerly 100% owned supplier. It's a two-way street. GM doesn't need to be stuck with inflated prices to pay for an over burdened supplier.

Septemeber 2004 Sales hit industry records that had never been achieved before... Last year's sales were down due to Employee Pricing and the Pull-Ahead sales. Every vehicle listed shows an improvement from 2005. From GM's 10/1/04 release. How many attempts at a failed Tundra will make you call for a Toyota VP's head?
-
Well, just about every paint color available is a premium metallic. That's a dramatic improvement and something I've been requesting for quite some time.

Mercedes Will Not Sell a Sub C-Class Model in U.S.
VenSeattle replied to Variance's topic in Mercedes-Benz
Huh? The high profile Segway recall must have crushed plans to rebadge it as a new entry-level Mercedes. -
No, but I've driven my fair share of RWD vehicles... several BMWs (3&5), Infinitis(G,J,Q), Mercedes(C&E), Fords(Mustang), & Lincolns(LS & TC). The overall package wins me over more-so than the feeling of being pushed or pulled.
-
Yes, and that's not an absolute + in my book. Not a negative either... I'm just not biased toward RWD or sports cars.
-
I could easily drive the revamped SRX. I think it looks great. However, I will say the Enclave's styling and purpose (more Luxury - less Sport) is more to my liking.

Heh... the bigger problem is that I can see more people choosing the Chevrolet Tahoe over the Chrysler Aspen... I don't see Chrysler even on the radar for potential Cadillac Escalade buyers, regardless of what Chrysler wants the public to believe. That tells me how bad Chrysler's twins are at the moment. (Throw in the Aspen has to compete against the JEEP Commander sharing the showroom floor... big failure ahead.)

As sooooo many here like to point out against GM = ***FLEET SALES***

That's fine BV... you've proven that the Lucerne can be rather plebeian in its lower trim levels. Considering those were meant to replace LeSabre, there's nothing laughable about it. In your comparison, you discredited everything that's gained from 12 years of advancement to "level" the playing field because it wasn't available back in 1994/95. Uh... considering the amount of technology that the Lucerne has standard & available over the Millenia, that's not going to work. As you've mentioned some points, I'll emphasize some too: ---------------------- Safety features: standard on the Lucerne V6 that were optional/ weren't available on the Millenia:On-Star (standard) Dual-Depth front airbags (standard) Side impact airbags (standard) Side-curtain airbags (standard) Traction Control (standard on Lucerne - Optional on Millenia) Keyless remote entry (standard on Lucerne - optional on Millenia) ---------------------- Pollution: The ancient Series III 3800 V6 in greener than the Mazda's anemic 2.5l v6. ---------------------- Performance: It's difficult to find a single source for both cars... but here's what I found:AutoChannel's Performance data on the base Millenia: 0-60 MPH 9.0 seconds 1/4 (E.T.) 17.0 seconds @ 85.5 mph Top speed 135 mph Autoweek published the V6 Lucerne's performance data at: 0 to 60 mph: 8.4 seconds (est.) Almost all reviews are for the V8-powered Lucerne. I've seen individual V6 Lucerne 0-60 in the low 8's to low 9's. So the Millenia's performance isn't anything to right home about compared to the Lucerne's. ---------------------- Interior space: Regardless of what you're trying to accomplish with posting stats, the Lucerne's interior is far from "mid-size" like the cramped Millenia's. The Lucerne's interior is 14 cubic feet larger than the Millenia's. Mazda Millenia Interior Volume: 94 ft3 Trunk Volume: 13 ft3 Buick Lucerne Interior Volume: 108 ft3 Trunk Volume: 17 ft3 ---------------------- Amenities: The Lucerne has a quieter ride to provide an experience that's more in-line with a luxury car. The Lucerne's warranty is also superior to the Millenia's. You mentioned automatic climate control on both, but you failed to acknowledge that the Lucerne's is dual-zone while the Millenia's is single-zone. Where is your 6-disc CD player located at? Lucerne has it built into the dash... you know, with that "let's put it in all our vehicles" receiver" you snubbed. Then there is the 'memory seat' feature, and the built in compass. What's significant about the above amenities? They were all available in 1995. Mazda could have offered these features, but didn't. Outside of the in-dash 6-disc CD player, the Buick Park Avenue had them available in 1995. Then you can add in some of the new features that weren't around in Buick or Mazda in 1995 that are now available on Lucerne: - Heated/Ventilated seats - Navigation - 275hp V8 - Stability Control - Magnetic Ride Control - Homelink (well, Buick had remote garage door ability, but this is far superior) - MP3 capability - Remote Vehicle Start - Ultrasonic Rear Parking Assist - Heated washer Fluid - Heated Steering Wheel ---------------------- Throw in the fact that the Millenia has a Ford-sourced transmission, and the Lucerne comes out smelling like roses for offering ALL OF THIS at similar prices to your car in 1995. This is just my opnion, but I'd definitely pay $1,000 more in 2006 dollars for all the features in a Lucerne CXS V8 over the 1995 Mazda Millenia S... Same goes for the CXL V6 Lucerne to the Millenia Base.Cars.com pricing for 1995 Millenia: 4dr Sedan Base w/CLOTH - $27,525 4dr Sedan S - $33,595 Cars.com pricing for 2007 Lucerne: 4dr Sedan CX - $25,515 4dr Sedan CXL V6 - $28,530 4dr Sedan CXL V8 - $30,540 4dr Sedan CXS - $34,545

I believe Croc's current opinion has been thoroughly documented! As for seeing it in person, I agree with Croc. It's not pretty. I've seen it in person. A styling disaster on wheels. No color (or Hemi) will salvage this package. For the price, there are just too many far more impressive alternatives available.
-
Croc is a big boy and can fight his own battles Sci... Besides, I read his initial reaction in January, not his change of opinion later down the road in another topic... hence my initial question in this topic regarding his change of opinion.

I'm referring to your first impressions... You liked it. It also appeared as if you were defending Chrysler coming out with this atrocity... here: Glad to see that you've changed your mind on the product... ...and the interior/exterior... It doesn't take a genius to know we can add the Aspen to that list of flops.
-
But you loved it when it debuted?
