  1. Thank you! I agree 100%! It's beautiful. This is definitely worthy of the Park Avenue name and an exquisite example of a Buick flagship sedan. If sold in the US, the rear would need to be modified, but nothing else. I'll take the car in the pictures... exterior/interior color and all.... Black & Tan... just like one of my favorite drinks.
  2. Eh... Either way, I don't care. I just want them to keep the Park Avenue name and bring it back to the US while keeping it in China. The "2010 or 2011" timeframe can change. If DTS/Lucerne sales start dropping off, they'll expedite their plans. It won't be difficult considering the first Zeta-based vehicles will be out before then. I'll hold out for this vehicle.
  3. Well, I know some information had been posted, but I didn't find an article that explicitly stated the same RWD vehicle will be sold in China and US. If I understand you correctly, the Park Avenue about to debut in China will have a very short life? It will be replaced by another vehicle being developed for both the US & China?
  4. Or, they were thinking they could have: 3 Mercedes-Benz S-Classes or 1 Rolls-Royce Phantom or Bentley Continental Flying Spur & Continental GT (my personal favorite combination)
  5. This article indicates the Zeta-based Cadillac sedan will be built at Hamtramck in place of the DTS. That said vehicle will be Cadillac's S-Class fighter. So, yeah, Cadillac's large sedan will be much more expensive than the Buick Park Avenue.
  6. I'm pretty confident that the next LaCrosse will be more than capable of replacing the current LaCrosse and Lucerne. It'll be positioned further upscale with more features and better packaging. I'm expecting the LaCrosse to be offered in the same price range as the current Lucerne to give Saturn's Aura more breathing room while defining the LaCrosse’s competitors more clearly. The next-gen LaCrosse and Park Avenue arrive around the same time frame (2009-2010... maybe 2011 but doubt it's that far away), and suspect there won't be an apparent gap in the line-up once we see them side-by-side.
  7. I don't know if this article was posted, but it's apparent the upcoming Buick Park Avenue in China will be Lucerne's replacement: Link: http://www.thecarconnection.com/Auto_News/...173.A12090.html
  8. No more than how purchasing a Honda Ridgeline would make you a "Cool Dad"
  9. I'm pretty sure we've seen the front end already... Ninety-Eight has posted this a few times: I love it. Bring it over!
  10. Sounds to me you're in the wrong forum if you don't even have a clue to what makes each of these brands what they are. I'd recommend some research, but I doubt you're interested enough in finding out, let alone purchasing one of them.
  11. They're not direct competitors or even in the same price range.
  12. The Edge has the loyal Explorer buyers to feed off of. They only reason why it will outsell the Lambdas is due to cannibalism. Even though they're not direct competitors (Think Saturn VUE = Edge), The Lambdas will continue to pick up steam.
  13. Then you haven't done enough research... it's very clear and has been explained several times as to why. I'll help you out starting on the research: http://money.cnn.com/2000/12/12/companies/oldsmobile/ Buick's sales in 2000 were 404,612 compared to Oldsmobile's 289,172. As a reference, Buick sold 282,288 in 2005 and 240,657 in 2006 @ about 30% fleet (with a firm commitment from GM to reduce further.) Buick continues to meet/exceed Oldsmobile sales from almost a decade ago with less models and less investment than Oldsmobile was given. Buick is also distributed through a shared dealership network with Pontiac and GMC. Oh yes, as 91z4me pointed out, Buick has China also. Oldsmobile's sales towards the end pales to Buick's Global volume. I think it's pretty clear if GM had to cut one of them, GM made the correct choice. I don't mean to start another 'Buick vs Olds' war... but some Olds loyalists are constantly starting this argument without looking to Oldsmobile first for the reasons why. Buick was Profitable in 2000 and wasn't even in consideration. The two up for consideration in 2000 were Oldsmobile & Saturn. Besides SAAB, they were the only unprofitable divisions GMNA had at the time. Even now, Buick is profitable globally.
  14. Click on Park Avenue http://www.buick.com.cn/index.aspx How I Feel -------------->
  15. You can bet every last cent that if the Zeta Buick is named Park Avenue in the US, I'll own one. I love the name and think it's still an excellent flagship for Buick. It's not retro. It didn't suffer through the worst of 1970's-1980's cost cutting. It has always been a premium/luxury Buick sedan. Bring it Back!
  16. I'll even admit that I do experience some minor front-end vibration at particular speeds (I can feel it through the steering wheel)... but it appears around the time I need to rotate my tires. That seems to make it disappear for 6-8 months and then becomes noticeable again. I originally thought it was a weather/ seasonal issue (being very cold etc...), but I finally linked it to rotating my tires. As a note of interest, every time I've rotated my tires, they've required rebalancing.
  17. Belated, but Happy B-Day
  18. No, but the V8 LaCrosse blows it out of the water for about the same price.
  19. I can agree with that.
  20. Are you sure? Have you sat in any of the 2008 Buick models and inspected them?
  21. No, it has tortoise shell-style accents on the steering wheel & shifter. Walnut wood trim is a $495.00 option.
  22. Oh, I thought you already did that in post 19 & 26... and now in post 31 & 37. Do you have anything else to add or are you going to continue repeating yourself in every Buick topic multiple times?
  23. I own a Park Avenue which shares this platform and uses the SC3800. I have experienced no such issue. I've driven the Lucerne and ES350. I do not find the Lucerne louder than the ES350. The article you are referring to by Sajeev Mehta was posted on C&G last year. You commented on this issue in that topic and it was discussed in that topic. Is there a particular reason you wish to discuss this issue again after all these months? As much as I appreciate your enthusiasm over the Lucerne, I can't help but notice that all six of your posts on C&G are nearly identical. It sounds like your particular Lucerne has a problem. I'm sorry that your dealer has been unable to resolve it, but exaggerating the issue and alluding to it now being a "chassis" issue universally impacting all G-platform vehicles is an absurd conclusion. I do not see your problem as an engineering flaw. It sounds like there is a part (or parts) that may be defective and may need a more knowledgeable dealer to examine it. I want your experience with the Lucerne to be positive, but you've owned it for about eight months now. I would move your Lucerne's issue up on the priority list and take it elsewhere to be inspected.
  24. BV's comment was comparing the LaCrosse to the Lucerne. Reread the posts before replying.
  25. So you proved my point. You're only bitching about the Lucerne's Lower Dash (The wood grain-style interior trim separates the two... regardless of semantics, it's the upper dash (above the wood) and lower dash (below the wood.) You didn't have anything else to justify criticizing the entire interior of the Lucerne having lower quality plastics than LaCrosse.
