  1. Well good, Chrysler has already run its course for you... but that's probably true for most of its fans, since there isn't much to love now. I guess that's why Chrysler is in it's current state.
  2. SSSSHHHHH!!!!!!! Stop it!!!! Denial isn't a river in Egypt. At least we're not on a Mopar/Chrysler board defending GM. If what you suggest happens... that would suck for Jim Press... then again, there has to be a reason Wolfgang Bernhard declined the position.
  3. Heh... Yep you're delusional. You contort everything that people say to fit what you want to believe... or not believe. That's fine... you're as bias as the people you accuse. Doesn't matter, Chrysler will not be what it is now in a few years (for better or for worse)... which will be a good thing to me either way. Say bye to what you're so desperately fending for, because what you love is changing. My love for Chrysler Corp disappeared several years ago. I won't miss what it is in its current state. It's a far cry from what it used to be and what it could be. GM isn't in anything near "disaster recovery" as Chrysler... GM solved many of its problems in the Union contracts ratification. Chrysler is just beginning and is several years behind GM and even Ford in turn-around efforts. Personally, I think it's a long shot for Ford and Chrysler to survive. However when it's 'life or death', people and companies can surprise you.
  4. Try filling up near airports or at truck stops. Those stations usually pre-authorize between $100-$250. Many financial institutions are complaining to fuel merchants that the pre-auth limits aren't keeping up with costs... but there's a downside to increased pre-auths... if you have $70 in your checking and you only want to buy $10 in gas with your debit card, you can't. Double-edged sword. That's not a problem personally, but my clients' cardholders complain religiously about this.
  5. I know exactly what I posted. In your reply here you focused on the delusional comment I made. You either misunderstood what I was referring to or just took it completely out of context. If you want to debate the "fad has passed" comment, then fine. 1) The buyers who made the 300 popular are no longer buying the 300: a) The 300C & 300 SRT-8 are no longer considered as acceptable alternatives to BMW 5-series or Mercedes E-class sedans. The premium/luxury boat for the 300 has sailed and is long gone. b) The Hip-Hop crowds are no longer using the 300 as its icon for fashion. 2) Your posts on LX meets are about the LX platform in general correct? Why is that? Because the enthusiasts you are focusing on are more interested in the meat of the vehicle than the aesthetics. They are just as satisfied with a Dodge or Chrysler (or probably a cheap Plymouth version if was one available on the LX with a V8.) Quality, Details, and Finish do not attract these type of enthusiasts. Performance, RWD, 0-60, modification abilities attract these type of enthusiasts. The platform is what draws them together, not the differences. They could care less about the available chrome trim, faux turtle plastic, or higher grade of leather in the 300 than the Charger (or a Plymouth version if it was available). This type of enthusiast can be harmful to image, especially for the Chrysler brand. They perpetuate the image of badge-engineering and that Dodge and Chrysler sell the exact same product. Chrysler doesn't need that. Rental fleets don't care, but consumers do. Chrysler didn't even have the intelligence to use a different trim for the 300 SRT-8 than the Dodge Charger SRT-8. Chrysler brought this badge engineered plague back upon itself. I understand the "Hemi" craze and Chrysler was cashing in on making that known on Dodge, Chrysler, and Jeep but that put all of Chrysler's eggs in one basket. All of their brands rode the Hemi trend leaving what for when the mpg issue hit full force? Where is the brand with a "hybrid/fuel efficient" image? Where is the brand with a real "luxury" image? Where is the brand with a "practical" or "family values" image? All those images were abandoned for the sake of Hemi performance... Everything became: "That thing got a Hemi?" or it was trash. If it didn't have that engine, it wasn't competitive. Thankfully, not even Chrysler could destroy Jeep's image in one generation, but the overlap of cute-utes could eventually if they aren't cancelled and dropped soon. Chrysler LLC is in disaster recovery mode, and I completely agree with Chrysler LLC's strategy in discontinuing the vehicles that overlap and blur the lines between Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep. For the Chrysler brands to survive, they each need distinct images with distinct products. They don't have that with the Durango/Aspen, Avenger/Sebring, Charger/300, and Caliber/Compass filling the lots. Chrysler's money making Caravan/T&C twins don't make the outlook any better with that market shrinking before our eyes. If you're fighting for all these overlap products to have justification, then you're fighting against Chrysler itself. C&G members didn't make the decision, but majority of us agree with it.
  6. Are you sure that's not Thrifty or Avis? One of those Chargers look like the rental I had when I went down to Portland. I couldn't get a GM car... They didn't carry any. Didn't find anything appealing about the 3.5l Charger except the small turning radius. My dog did like the back seat though.
  7. Considering how much inventory Dodge has in stock, the feeling must be mutual. At least GM had the sense to stop producing the Aztek.... oh wait... Chrysler LLC is coming around to their senses... What was this topic about again??? :rotflmao:
  8. CMG you are apparently an idiot and obviously can't read. :rotflmao: I said BrewSwillis was delusional for thinking the Chrysler 300 was "ultra conservative." All you've come back with are "enthusiasts" comments which are obviously not target buyers for "ultra conservative" cars. That just proves my point and contradicts BrewSwillis'...
  9. Chrysler has usually been very good at concepts... like the Airflite, LHX, Chronos, etc... but the translation to production has been very disappointing at times. My favorite Chrysler concept was the Atlantic... A car Chrysler should have built in very limited production for the rest of time.
  10. Apparently too few men and not enough of those women are out there that are interested, or Dodge and Chrysler wouldn't be cancelling products and rushing to reinvent themselves as they continue to lose billions. (of course there's not an exact number, but nothing has really changed since the buy out except sales have continued to plummet.) :rotflmao: You are delusional... The Lucerne and Avalon are the ultra conservative large sedans in this segment. The 300's styling was never perceived or advertised as subtle. It was designed from the beginning to intentionally polarize and inject some blood into the Chrysler brand, which it did for a while. What you're mistaking as "conservative" was Chrysler's lack of quality, detail, and finish which left the 300 as a faux premium/luxury sedan that had RWD once the hip-hop fad faded away. Now the over publicized in-your-face 300 is dated and starting to rot on the vine with the rest of Chrysler’s neglected products. Here are a few comments about this ultra conservative boxy 300: Edmunds: MotorTrend: It's no longer 2004... but the 300 still is. Fads never age well. CarandDriver Ohhhhh Yeeaaaaahhhh.... real ultra conservative...
  11. These are just exposure commercials. More informative commercials will come once vehicles are on the lot.
  12. Well, in this case, I seriously think it's mostly due to the product and not Japan or the US Government.
  13. Mercedes Benz C300 Base price is $31,975 Oh... and it must get lonely in your bubble.
  14. Hmmm... GS has been out for how many years and they don't have enough data to determine a trend? As for the Toyota Camry V6 6-speed transmission issues, I don't remember a recall that corrected the design problems early on... was there one?
  15. Holy Hell.... Cutting the Sebring right after introducing it?!? :rotflmao: I need popcorn.
  16. Considering the results from Consumer Reports, I look forward to seeing how the surveys come back for JD Power next year. This could all unravel and become very interesting...
  17. And which domestic brand is that? :AH-HA_wink:
  18. So much for unbiased reporting. How can it not be biased if they were using different methods to officially rate individual manufacturers. Since the new Camry V6 has poor reliability, I wonder how long until the ES350 joins the list?
  19. Ummm... GM already has that covered.
  20. I definitely see it too... The more I look the less I see BMW. The new Accords remind me of the Saturn L-Series mixed with the new Mercedes C-Class. I like the new Mercedes C-Class very much, but the Accord doesn't carry the styling very well IMO.
  21. Wow... have never seen fleet sales justified by which rental car agency purchased them. Thrifty orders very heavily from Chrysler, Hertz leans toward Ford, and Avis from GM... since they favor those manufacturers is that why you feel they provide the "rental crap norm?" I agree Enterprise carries a large variety of manufacturers, but rental fleet sales are rental fleet sales... there is no glory regardless of which agency made the purchase.
  22. Heh... is this why the strike didn't last long? I can here it now... "Go ahead, strike for a few weeks or more. Pay the plant workers. We don't care. We're shutting them down anyway to cut inventory by about 100,000 units. Now are you ready to accept our offer?" I know it's oversimplifying and probably completely incorrect... but still a funny thought...
  23. I've had a Bally's membership since I was 18. I keep it for the same reasons you do, but I'm growing tired of it. The facilities near my home are not that great and all the hotels I stay at when traveling now have gyms. I have another membership at The Pro Club which I use 2-3 times a week when time permits. I'd say it's pretty nice with a Spa, restaurant, & car detailer on-site.
  24. Has it been confirmed the Chevy Zeta sedan will be called Impala? Why I ask... I may have missed something among the myriad of topics that followed the UAW/GM agreement... Chevy will be receiving a large Epsilon sedan in 2010 out of Fairfax, KS stated in this topic. Have we confirmed that will be the next gen Malibu on Epsilon II or is that a new FWD large sedan in addition to the Malibu and Zeta sedan? If it is the Malibu, it will be odd for Chevrolet to have a smallish Cobalt on Gamma and then a large Malibu on EPS II? Where is Chevrolet's midsize family sedan? Will there be a global GMDAT-sourced compact/midsize Chevrolet filling the gap? Not to Hijack... just asking. It's good to know the production schedule for the Camaro. Let's us know how fast things will be moving for Oshawa.
