  1. Good point... and for all intents and purposes, everything seems to verify Chrysler's intentions for brand restructuring. I'm not saying I actually buy this story... but there's obviously some underlying buzz or disturbance with Pontiac or several stories creeping up (usually negative) wouldn't occur. Outside of Pontiac's current line-up completing their lifecycle, Pontiac has a vehicle being imported for a few years and a vehicle built by a joint venture. G6 will be around until when again? (2013) Alpha will arrive when? (2011) How old with the G8 be by then? (4 years)
  2. He must be in cohorts with Motor Trend, UAW, and GM too... Oops! Because nothing coming out of the mainstream sounds positive for Pontiac's future.
  3. That care is big... it's definitely intended to fill the spot of the current LaCrosse and Lucerne in Buick's line-up. 14 months until production. Sounds good to me.
  4. TOTAL LEXUS PASS. CAR 14,892 16,156 -7.8 TOTAL LEXUS LIGHT TRUCK 9,956 10,563 -5.7 TOTAL LEXUS 24,848 26,719 -7.0
  5. http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...l=Bowling+Green As for NUMMI - Vibe can be dropped, Matrix etc can replace production if GM ends the joint venture. Or, it could just become a Chevrolet product... again. Simple. As for the Union agreement - G6 went out the furthest (2013) for commitment to build a Pontiac, which is why it was quoted. As for G8 production... Make up your mind... is PCS a reliable source or not. :AH-HA_wink:
  6. Did I read that correctly... Lexus down 7%????
  7. You'd rather have a G6 over the new Malibu?
  8. No, I didn't. Siegen compared the Accord interior to a luxury car... and then compared the Accord's interior to the STS. I don't think that's a compliment to either car actually. :rotflmao:
  9. Let's just look at some of the information recently announced: * Kappa moves to Bowling Green in 2011 (the plant will have 4+ products instead of 2 like at Wilmington) * No confirmation that G8 manufacturing will be moved to the US * Alpha will be going to Chevrolet, not Pontiac... * Buick to have more models added (stated by Lutz) * GMC gets TE SUV * Pontiac getting Vibe from NUMMI * Union Contract negotiations... any Pontiac product included in the commitment? No. What we got: Pontiac G6 continues through 2013. Guys...
  10. At least compare it to a current STS interior pic: I don't see any black plastic on the center console... but I do see real wood. Brushed metal brightens the stack up some also. :AH-HA_wink: Sorry... Accord has more black plastic (and hard plastic in general.)
  11. What luxury car uses that much black plastic for the center console and stack?
  12. Dodgefan, you keep saying the Accord is midsize, but it changed classes in 2008. It's now classified as a large sedan and should be compared to the Maxima, Avalon, etc. I know traditionally the Accord was a Camry fighter... just like the Maxima was in the 1990's. The Altima eventually filled that spot. The Accord has now grown up with the Maxima. The only thing that keeps the Accord in Camry's class is the available 4-cylinder. That, and the fact Honda no longer has a midsize car. With the Fit in play, the Civic could grow up in its next gen to fill the spot, including its first V6... or maybe Honda could introduce another version of the European Accord (along with Acura's TSX) into the US and sell it underneath the US Accord? Something to think about... How long does Honda think people will want a coupe version of a large sedan? Size comparisons between the volume-brand large FWD cars: Avalon: Interior Volume: 106.9 cu. ft. Overall length 197.6 in. Overall width 72.8 in. Wheelbase 111.0 in. Curb Weight: 3610 lbs Maxima: Interior Volume: 103.6 cu. ft. Length: 194.4 in. Width: 71.7 in. Wheel Base: 111.2 in Curb Weight: 3,579 lbs Accord V6: Interior Volume: 106 cu. ft. Length: 194.3 in Width: 72.7 in. Wheel Base: 110.2 in Curb Weight: 3616 lbs Impala: Interior Volume: 104.5 cu. ft. Length: 200.4 in Width: 72.9 in. Wheel Base: 110.5 in. Curb Weight: 3711 lbs. Taurus: Interior Volume: 108 cu. ft. Length: 201.8 in. Width: 74.5 in. Wheel Base: 112.9 in. Curb Weight: 3643 lbs. -------------------------------------- Camry V6: Interior Volume: 101.4 cu. ft. Length: 189.2 in. Width: 71.7 in. Wheel Base: 109.3 Curb Weight: 3516 lbs.
  13. I'd find the least amount to criticize if the Outlook, Acadia, & Enclave were referred to as Lambda-triplets. That's more literal when attempting to summarize the relationship between the three vehicles.
  14. Considering religious leanings between the two parties, those sound like tactics that would be condoned by the Republicans... not Democrats After all, the rural US population will go to Hell if they vote democrat. Their preachers said so… If electing a democrat for president would start Armageddon, why wouldn't all Christians vote for a Democrat? Don't they want the 2nd coming of Christ? Or is it just all propaganda?
  15. Excuse me PCS?!? Oh no you didn't! You should be rather fond of that former C&G slogan... it was a take on one of Opel's :AH-HA_wink: "Opel. Fresh Thinking for Better Cars"
  16. I love coffee... been drinking it since I was 5 or 6. However, I grew up on Maryland Club - Butter Nut by Procter & Gamble (now discontinued.) As far as store bought coffee, P&G make good coffee IMO. They produce the Millstone line which I'll choose over Starbucks any day. I don't like Seattle's Best Coffee (also owned by Starbucks) because their 'Italian Roast' process gives it a burnt taste IMO. Starbucks' medium roast isn't bad. Morning is overdone. Dark roast is okay...
  17. In general, I usually do too... However... If I'm in a foul mood, I enjoy running this comment through my mind: "The law requires the driver to use their blinker before changing lanes. The law does not require that I let them in."
  18. This is funny but also sad... since Toyotas don't come with road-side assistance or OnStar.
  19. Well, the new C-Class is out and has been in comparisons. I find it very attractive (inside and out) surprisingly, but the biggest oversight (IMO) was the lack of memory seats for 2008. It appears they become available for 2009 (thankfully) along with some other key options... http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w204-new-c...parktronic.html For those who need some pics to refresh their memory: http://blogs.cars.com/kickingtires/2007/01...ass_photos.html http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/News/...cleId=119252#16
  20. Happy Birthday Brian! Have a good one!
  21. You're nuts! We're talking about gay men here. We hold out to win battles. Women hold out to win wars. We recognize life is way too short and sex is way too important to hold out for the sake of a war! Besides... it doesn't matter the outcome... it's always a win/win
  22. Heh... try this... In celebration of Thanksgiving... Auto turkeys - The 10 worst cars of the last 25 years! Yep... it's a Cimmaron Holiday all over again... Of course the CTS is mentioned with it. It's amazing the Cimarron was the only car that slid in right at 25 years! 6 cars were within the this decade, and none were mentioned from the 1990s at all. Some cars over the past 25 years that were left off... No Tempo/Topaz. No Mystique. No Five Hundred/Montego. No Ford Thunderbird. No Crossfire. No Toyota T100. No Toyota Echo. No Toyota MR2 Spider. No Mercury Capri. No Honda Accord Hybrid... Not even the Acura RL.... which I think was worse at ruining the Acura Legend than the Sterling mentioned in the article.
  23. It would have to be since it's an actual name. If it belonged to Cadillac, it would be called the IBS sedan.
  24. The front looks to have some L-Finesse dialed in. Eh... it's better than what they had.
  25. Happy Birthday TC!
