  1. Yep Yep... That's why I think the Delta II Buick is heading our way.
  2. I don't take orders very well either FOG. Either drop it (as you've now said twice) or admit you were completely incorrect by blaming GME for LaCrosse's styling... your vendetta has no place with Buick... Opel, SAAB, Saturn, Pontiac... sure... Buick, no. Again, don't bring it in here. 2nd time telling you so.
  3. siegen... besides the extra hp along with AWD (and worse fuel economy) ... what's your opinion to why someone would pay $5k-6k more for the TL over a TSX?
  4. I haven't heard if G-platform production has been extended. As far as my knowledge it hasn't. Hamtramck has product already pending to replace the G-Platform... one of them being the VOLT. The chances of the Lucerne living past 2010/2011 are slim to none at the moment. In a way, this car replaces both the Lucerne & LaCrosse... and in a way it doesn't. This vehicle is in an entirely different class. It's a near-luxury midsize sedan. It'll replace the Lucerne in form of technology, features, and sophistication... it'll replace the LaCrosse in size. It will more than likely overlap both of them in price. I still have reason to expect another sedan to debut shortly after the demise of Lucerne, but for it to be smaller than the Invicta/LaCrosse... not larger. Don’t forget, they’re already working on the next gen Enclave too.
  5. Whatever... This topic is about the LaCrosse replacement... twist it as you may for your own vendetta, but this car will not be sold in Europe and was designed by US and Chinese design centers... so how is GME responsible again?????!!!!! There's a difference between platform engineering and styling/design. If I'm suppressing your hate soooo much, just start a topic (well... another topic) dedicated to bashing GME and everything about it... but the styling of the car in the spy pic (which is what this topic is about) has nothing to do with GME. That so-called ugly generic SOB is the fault of American designers.
  6. I disagree on both points... this car doesn't look dated at all considering the overhangs are very short and the interior is probably competitive with the newly remodeled Acura TL. BTW... Buick's buying age has already lowered into the 50's. As for those who say it doesn't look like a Buick, let's just add a foot overhang to the front and back, oval/square formal upright grille, hood ornament, canvas roof, wire wheels, bench seat, and velour upholstery so all of you will recognize it even though you never intended to buy one in the first place. FOG... The picture doesn't show details... you can't tell if the door handles are chrome or body colored. You can't even see the chrome strip along the rocker panel. You can barely make out an incomplete sweepspear-inspired crease. You definitely can't make out the headlights and grille. They're just blurs. The decent shot of the rear leads me to believe this car will appear more upscale than the current LaCrosse or Lucerne. The interior appears completely intact. That's where the Enclave comparisons are justified. GMNA needs better cars and more of them... many more. This is one of them. Give the GME hate a rest. At least keep it out of the Buick forum. You can say and do all you want in the Pontiac Forum which has turned into nothing but hate topic after hate topic about GME... Nothing but a pure bash-fest. I won't allow that to poison the Buick Forum also.
  7. I understand a lot of people's disappointment, but this is probably a Chinese-spec lower trim level. We don't know enough about the car in the pic to know for sure. Also, the exterior front pic is of terrible quality. Combine that with a silver color that washes out all the body character lines & brightwork and you have an almost worthless, but definitely damaging, spy pic of an unreleased vehicle. I'm not disappointed by the overall understated look of the car. It's very similar to how the Enclave is understated. If I wanted "a lot of flash" like the CTS, I'd buy a CTS. I recommend many should wait until official pics are released (and hopefully in a different color) before bashing GM, GME, God, etc. As much as some people want to "focus" on certain things possibly wrong with the car, there are many things intact from the concept that are exactly right.
  8. Oshawa owns the rights to Regal and Impala... not LaCrosse.
  9. YIKES!!!! Chrysler LLC's 2008 Fleet percentages.... 10. Sorry Z. Really. It's amazing how close a pet can be to their master. My Chinese pug, Saffron, developed a tumor on her bottom jaw back about 5 months ago. It appeared out of no where and took just a few days to become the size of an olive. The first thing that popped into my head was cancer also... which is really a disturbing thought since she just turned 3 last month. Luckily it was benign and the vet stated it would disappear over the next several months... and it has. She now has a pink scar where the tumor once was, but hey, I'll take the scar over losing her any day. It also gives her some character. lol I can't really describe how I'd feel if it had been malignant. I would have been extremely upset to say the least. The past few years (oddly enough, since I turned 30) haven't been the easiest and Saffron has been there providing tons of smiles and moral support. Try to make her days as comfortable as possible. Spend lots of time with her and let her know how much you love her.
  11. I'm sure Terraza had something to do with Buick not being closer to Lexus. Still a great showing for Cadillac and Buick... What's up with the rest???? Ford did well, but none of Chrysler's brands were above average.
  12. I agree with you that Buick needs a compact sedan, but Delta II is a more premium platform than Delta. For example, the next SAAB 9-3 will be on Delta II.
  13. In the US, Epsilon I: Malibu G6 Aura 9-3 In the US, Epsilon II: Malibu Impala Aura Invicta 9-5 A G6 replacement has not been confirmed on Epsilon II, 9-3 is moving to Delta, and I can honestly see the Epsilon II Impala being dropped entirely since they've extended W-platform production for another several years.
  14. I've seen the same one twice on the road... at first I thought it was a 1st-gen Acura RL, then a Lexus LS, but then realized it was the Genesis. Everything about the car looks nice except the grille is hideous. I'm still not comfortable giving Hyundai over $40k for a vehicle, and probably never will be...
  15. I personally like the '09 TSX better than the original... I agree, the original looked and felt like a nice Honda. The new TSX actually looks like a small Acura. Unfortunately, I don't think some of the new "Acura-look" elements are translating well on larger products. As much as I like real wood interiors, the MDX & RL just have too much of it and the pieces are HUGE. Acura needs to use some restraint in that area. Then there's the front shield... not a personal fan of it. The rest of the exterior seems to be coming along just fine. The TSX, MDX, & upcoming TL all have styling characteristics that tie them together but without looking like carbon copies (like Lexus). The RL still looks awkward and needs to be killed & replaced badly. It's as if Acura started to head in a new direction, changed its mind, then went in another... leaving the new RL as a flagship that never really represented the rest of the brand. Hopefully that will be rectified soon.
  16. That comparison is ridiculous... it serves no purpose. The BMW 3-series alone outsold all of Audi by 4,499 vehicles and outsold all of Mitsubishi by 3,776 vehicles... Both brands have more than twice as many vehicles in their line-up than Buick (Buick 3 models, Audi 8 models, and Mitsubishi 7 models) and do not typically share showroom floors with others. By this comparison, Buick is doing much better than Audi or Mitsubishi, and Audi sells a car that directly competes with the 3-series... A4. What was your point again?
  17. My favorite production GM car is still the Chinese Buick Park Avenue.... 2nd place is the Chinese Cadillac SLS... For the US market, Cadillac XLR.
  18. It's not overlap in a segment if they're targeting different buyers. A premium/luxury compact in Buick guise would be extremely different in features, performance, and style than a Scandinavian inspired Euro-sport compact from SAAB. As you know, there's more to a car than length, doors, and platform. You can even take the current offerings and realize what I'm talking about... a 9-3, Aura, & G6 all sitting side-by-side on a showroom floor would appeal to different buyers... even as potentially overlapping as a 9-3 convertible and a G6 convertible might appear to be. They're completely designed and tuned for a different market/buyer despite sharing the same platform.
  19. The Camry outsells all other sedans by all manufacturers... how many other manufacturers does GM outsell in combined sedan sales? oh yeah... everyone else but Toyota & Honda. If GM is that "horrible" being 3rd then everyone else needs to quit now. Most mainstream manufacturers will never see a single unit or platform move 40,000+ vehicles in a month. GM moving over 37,000 in a month is still pretty damn impressive.
  20. I like it! Very attractive and upscale... if this is the direction GM is going with small-car interiors, I have no doubt GM can make a luxury Buick compact to compete with S40, TSX, etc...
  21. Enclave and Acadia are doing very well... especially for being on the same showroom floor. The Outlook is suffering. The Traverse will just kill Outlook sales entirely. Buick Lucerne sales are down, but it outsold the Toyota Avalon, Genesis, Azera, Passat, Sable, and Chrysler 300 (all premium mid-to-large sedans). The Lucerne actually almost sold as much as the Ford Taurus and new-for-2009 Maxima... so, considering the market conditions, Lucerne is still holding its own pretty damn well. The LaCrosse replacement will debut and go on sale in a matter of months... no need to fret.
  22. Yeah... back when the news came out about the frames cracking, Toyota announced the FJ was a one-generation vehicle. There won't be a Gen-2. Thankfully.
