  1. yeah, i bet bush does too. :AH-HA_wink: i dont remember but i dont think they were quite this high.
  2. at least exxon mobil stocks been taking a hit...little by little. also read demand is down these past couple of days. once it hits 3 people are just like o $h!, not again.
  3. mama mia, thats a spicy meatball.
  4. well it does seem as of right now that they have it pinpointed pretty well..they probably even know the poor son of a bitch resposible for the defect...maybe it was tibor...working that graveyard shift. kindve like the z06 roof and the supposed defective batch of adhesive...these things certainly do happen and as i said earlier, itll become more clear later. 160 seems really low ball. itd be nice if they had more details other than "you can still drive the car with no problem"
  5. f*ck them...hands down the worst reviews. without a doubt. now thats garbage.
  6. yeah, and what else is new?
  7. do you think .05% is a plausible no.? anyone feel free to answer. i wanted to get a poll going but i have no idea.
  8. wow--why dont you try kissing my ass. horSehit..is that better for you? one mispelled word...get a life. what does that have to do with anything? whats your point anyway? maybe two...
  9. luck of the draw, i guess.
  10. 1/2 a percent...what hoese$h!.......do they think people will really believe that. even if it is true...c'mon now. talk about sweeping something under the rug...i alredy think they feel americans are easy but....to that extent? maybe its me, maybe im jaded....f@#k that. 1/2 a percent. im insulted...use your head damn it. if yourre gonna make up something at least try to let me believe it.
  11. depending upon how saturn plays their cards i can see them as a serious contender... they have that "ooommph, for lack of a better term, to draw in people that may not necessarlily consder a chevy or especially pontiac... i think they are in a way still cutting their teeth... saab on the other hand is a very "niche" car..as much as i hate that term. they are a friendly alternative to other cars that arent american...a very specific person will consider a saab, in my opinion. i dont think theyrre bad, per se...but as george carlin would say "whtd you buy a swedish piece of $h! for"... its a saAAABbbb. on the plus side their sales are improving....like i said, they arent for everone and theyrre not bad...just relegated to a small portion of the market and in my opinion will never, ever..ever make up for volume. buick is rebuilding, saturn has a bright future...pontiac is well, pontiac. i hope they have more in store. chevy will always be making trucks and corvettes...and hopefully camaros. if gm ever downsized theyd still have the most impressive resume even if they only kept the creme.
  12. ya know, for the torquiness and satisfaction i get from driving my car i wouldnt even blame gm if it blew up now...its got 100k + and i enjoy the hell out of it. it's had a mystery leak for the longest time and i still dont care...its a trooper. i just wonder how long before this case appears here in the US. the whole thing seems frivolous to me. how long can you blame other people? id like to see some %'s of actual engines built and so called problem engines. just for reference, of course.
  13. its a good idea in theory but dell just got downrated to a "sell" by some analysts...whatever that means. familiarity breed contempt...is that apt? im not sure. but what i do know is that the camry is only a couple of months old. theres no way the infected supply is a mere 150 odd cars. the truth is that most havent been sold, are sitting on the lots and are being fixed off the books, so to speak. i cant imagine the problem so limited....although, problem batches do appear and is the price of mass production. the question then is this a technology issue or a human element of production. this should become more clear if more problems pop up past the "first five hunded" miles... (but of course...you can still drive the car. nevermind the horrensous sounds and jerkiness...its not really a problem that requires a recall)
  14. give me the box! ill take the box!! yeah, but i get what 'biz is saying. unless you really want the other thing for whatever reason, you are paying a premium. the other options out there arent garbage and the price difference can be substantial. gas, a plasma tv, a lawnmower, gas for your lawnmower...whatever with the saved money. you want to spend more just be sure you know what yourre getting, what you think yourre getting, and what you actually are getting. god bless freedom of choice. i still like the box though anyway. :AH-HA_wink: edit: i just happen to walk my ass to the store over here and saw a brand new avalon parked on the corner... i gotta say it looked alright, i just got a very generic feeling as i was walking up to it...not bad, just ehhh. i thought the interior looked nice but it just left me cold overall. ya know, whatever floats your boat...just my 2 cents. j
  15. hey heyyyy. not too shabby.
  16. not sure about this but wasnt the solstice originally going to be a heavily modified delta platform but when that didnt pan out they put together kappa.
  17. good enough. i still think the reid would have been the last person theyd even consider approaching about this considering his past writing and/or philosphies...but either way i still think he jumped all over this one and blew it out of proportion to what actually might have happened--face it well never ever know. there must be dozens of he said/she said crappola stories out there. heres one more.
  18. in order to get name recognition from consumers at an early age the brand is going to use the same intials just rearranged to form the acronym/snyonym of a lunch time staple sandwich PB & G's
  19. im a car fan first but its ok, id ont think id cry, thats a bit much...it was only a joke. note: see the smiley face. the fact is its way too early to see this as a decline. maybe 30 years from now if things arent looking so good people will look back and perhaps cite this as the initial floundering....i highly doubt it though its like watching the yanks or sox lse a few in april and may and saying they have no shot at the playoffs... i think the sign of a true decline is when historical sales trends are ignored for current ones. the muscle car era could be argued as one such instance...great cars but by the time the 70's rolled around there wasnt all that much left in the fridge. a lot was taken out and spoiled...but nevertheless. it only makes a comeback that more sweet. porsche on the other hand got roasted for a while because they wanted an suv. and they got it much to the chagrin of car people...but they pulled it off and they never forsaked their bread and butter while doing it. i know its kind of a stretch but only to illustrate my point. i dont see toyota neglecting any of their money cars. in fact, the sports cars they had supra and mr-2 although popular didnt stay around while they were reloading. i dont know about their profitibility but the segment had to be smaller than the family car business. is there only one right way of doing business and making money. i doubt it, it just depends on where you are or where you were. bottom line--its premature to see this as a decline, and as hudson said these companies learrn quickly and they better because other companies are sneaking up. --by the by, i really was joking and i know you have assorted interests. lighten up a little.
  20. dont worry, enzl is just cranky because he sells toyotas.
  21. c'mon, who really needs those back wheels anyway. theyrre bound to fall off at some point.
  22. .5 %....or so they say. some people like to play the skeletons in the closet game when it concerns gm cars and trucks because they have ammo from many many more cars and sales. now chinks in the mighty toyota armor seem to be showing up a little bit(so to speak). how many cars is it really? we may never know. i could really care less, hey welcome to the club. its like ordering chinese food and they tell you five-10 minutes.
  23. this is guilt from a guy who supported NAFTA and CAFTA to the bitter end and never quite sold it to the american worker or public for that matter. i think hes full of crap and looking to get good press for him with the union workers as unwilling pawns. its nice to play a good guy, but really whats his bitch about? most expert opinions are compensated for in some way. whether trial witnesses, news reports, or seminars. people get paid to express their opinion. now he sounds even more righteous while trying to tell us hes not so--if you believe him. --and really what does cadillacs sales have to do with this? let me tell you. nothing. dont waste my time with that nonsense.
  24. i had the same problem with a cat and the mechanic whose a friend explained the honeycomb layout of the cat. eventually it will just collapse and clog up the works. now the bad part...when used too long it begins to glow red from all the trapped heat. drive too long like that and things could really get worse. good thing you caught and took care of it. let it be a lesson.
  25. go to germany. youll find benz taxis all over. ok, dont go...take my word for it. maybe yourre right though, i dont think id a buy a benz. they use lincoln and fords for the taxis in nyc. a few honda odyseys but no toyotas anywhere. the avalon is undoubtedly overpriced for what you are actually getting. talk about too many models. where does lexus fall after the fully loaded camry and avalon? thats a lot of choices.
