  1. guess that flushes that theory down the terlit... the reasoning really is inconsequential anyway. you want a 54k pickup, this is America...do what you want its your money. thats why were here beyond true. and the best part about the internet, no one holds anyone accountable and too many people rely on it as fact or gospel. theres too many illinformed people roaming around there that claim it must be true because its on the "internet" somewhere. and :angry2:
  2. thats good man. theres few things more noble that one can do than serve their country.
  3. mercurys werent meant to last that long and probably tripped something in the computer when it reached an uncharted number. just kidding. congrats. you can probably get another 200k out of it.
  4. thats ok. you just need a little shorter belt. the compressor in my bonneville is like that so when i was getting new belts the guy i take my car too just rigged it up like that. i dont know if its worth it but it runs a nice... and yeah the r12 is such a treat. when my brother got his caprice we had what turned out to be a lifetime supply. it was a few boxes.
  5. oh, thats helpful. thanks.
  6. obviuosly i didnt know dale personally but watching the old races on espn classic is great to watch. ive always enjoyed racing. without a doubt he was fast and it was fun watching someone that teetering on control zip that car around the track....especially in places like bristol. the first race i watched with a real interest was the one he died...god bless fox...in that short time since then ive watched it go through some $h!. more or less i lost an interest in it because of said $h!. it was a good 2 years though. god bless fox again. i think it mightve been the lucky dog rule that sealed the deal for me, or just the fact they called it that. that and a bunch of other stuff. ill still pass by occassionally for the hell of it sometimes. but yeah i liked earnheart and probably would still be somewhat more interested than i am now if he was alive. thats a sign to me. but nascars kinda beat anyway when it comes to racing. alms is the shiznit. i can watch that for hours.
  7. i dont understand how that wreck didnt look bad? even waltrip immediately knew it wasnt good. the width of daytona is 40 ft-- and he was going anywhere from 160-190 mph straight into a wall. imagine that speed and completely stopping in less than 40 ft distance. do you know what forty feet looks like? he wouldnt have had time to sh8t his pants. i guarantee you he didnt know what hit him. he had no idea what happened. at full speed they cover a football field in about 2 seconds...and thats 300 ft! now picture 40 ft. less. and thats why instead of car number three its car almost 3 at 2.9
  8. caddys been there done that... those fuddy duddies ride in the bimmers and benz' too. Whats wrong with the Escalades being the "aspirational" models for now?
  9. theyve got a wing and a prayer. (the pun really wasnt intended)
  10. theyve got a wing and a prayer. (the pun really wasnt intended.)
  11. http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/20061030/h...ai-motor-co.htm interesting read... 47% drop. things not so rosy over there in korea. what ever happened to the ceo's embezzlement issues?
  12. i understand the product drought, ...and to be honest ive never cared for ford products to begin with... but ive always felt that the country as a whole has a soft spot for ford. ive always respected their trucks and such and for the most part as a company are viewed in a completely different regard than gm. they always seem to have good sellers when the product is right. the escorts, taurus, explorers, mustangs, f150's from recent times and im probably leaving some out. all perenial best sellers. it always baffled me how they couldnt "keep it up"-- much more so than gm. in this instance im inclined to look at management but thats not here nor there. i agree it might be stagnant for a little but it just seems like people "care" about ford....the friggin windstar, too. what jackasses. the right minivan would even set them off. its a lot of opinion, i know, but i just cant fathom how they could have f'ed it up so royally.... and this has nothing to do with production or capacity problems... thats not holding them back in anyway?? unreal.
  13. i wouldnt try to judge too much by the usual lackluster gm photography. look at the spanish ad if you havent done so yet, or this, or best look em over in person. theyre a little more than just boxes. kinda hard to pick up in stills. the angle of the windshield and the way the front hangs down and wraps around hardly shows up in the stills.
  14. aside from the easy young female assistant debauchery...what the hell is toyota going to do with an "F"... hope its got nothing to do with a tundra in any sort of way. skyscape is a cool name...any skylarks yet?
  15. from what ive seen those trucks look good. damn good actually. they look tasteful and well done without going nuts...understated but not boring. and certainly not gaudy, exaggerated, and tacky. im gonna go out on a limb and say theyll look even better in person but just from the pictures...and yeah if i saw that barreling down the highway from behind me ill get out of the way. as for the tundra, i just gotta shake my head and wonder a little. they shouldve picked one theme and ran with it. not a whole congeal of designs.
  16. ive got one. would one or possibly two breakout hits turn those numbers around?
  17. aint that the truth...
  18. happy birthday, anniversary no balloons so here ya go
  19. you racist son of a bitch. you know what, theres only one thing i hate more than a racist...and im not going to finish that sentence because i will offend everyone. im just kidding, but theres a really complex answer there if anyone even knows the whole truth. id say its borderline coincidence and circumstance, but youd have to look at where high crime has been there historically and check your numbers. then check it against the prevailing poverty rates, unemployment...etc. its not something id bring up at a dinner party or as a matter of conversation, how blacks are the in the highest percentage of population in cities with the most violent crime...not the ice breaker youre looking for. wouldnt know exactly where youd be headed with that one. and besides all that, before you go trying to connect the dots check out other large cities with large black populations and see where they fall in the crime category. good observation otherwise, and remember to roll em up and lock em.
  20. time and again toyota has proven they can make a success out of just about anything. i dont see how that is necessarily an indication of the product. they have a better understanding of the car markets and a basically untarnished reputation that precedes them....they are good at controlling the situations and havent had the displeasure of letting down as many people as number 1 and 2 have in the past....they are terrific at damage control.. and when they have a dud like the echo they get on it quick enough and make it golden again. or change the name. and even with all that its safe for me to say there is not one toyota product that i have even the slightest bit of interest in. ESPECIALLY when it comes to trucks. and that been reflected time and again in past sales. im sorry but i just dont see that and unless darrel waltrip can convince enough people otherwise it will be another status quo offering from a toyota tundra. i think the restylings are tasteful and appealing without being gaudy and exaggerated. i think its fair to say gm knows the truck market pretty well. toyotas getting there but not quite. same as nissan, lots of good ideas but not enough takers. they throw a bone and people like you think everyone will go fetch. what would you consider a success for this truck anyway?
  21. baby step towards fiscal solvency... got to stop going in circles or the whole 2 steps forward 1 1/3 back.
  22. looks like hondas catching some heat now, too. toyota must be loving it.
  23. down is down. it looks as if all the trucks, from everyone, got a kick in the ass from lower gas prices. sales are also up in general. i guess its an improvement, but from what and when?
  24. the numbers are up now. http://media.gm.com/servlet/GatewayServlet...n=6&docid=30092 GM's U.S. Divisions Deliver 301,317 Vehicles In October GM Retail Sales Up 36 Percent Compared With Last Year Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado and GMC Sierra Pickup Trucks On A Roll -- Retail Sales More Than Doubled For The Second Consecutive Year, GM Offers More Vehicle Models Achieving 30 MPG Highway Than Any Other Automaker DETROIT - General Motors dealers in the United States sold 301,317 new cars and trucks in October, a 22 percent increase compared with last year.
