  1. gothams just another name for ny. brooklyn college has a beautiful campus. it was and i think still is known as the poor mans harvard. theres a bunch of parakeets that live on teh campus. supposedly as the story goes a circus car full of wild animals derailed and the birds escaped and just took up residence there. the junction had trains and troleys running through it at one time. even in the city theres still places to go to get away from it all. wash sq. park, union sq. park...way uptown...the cloisters. thats a good one, might want to look it up. havent been there in a long time but you might appreciate it. http://www.forgotten-ny.com/ probably get a kick out of that link too if you feel like clicking on it. one of my professors co-authored a book on the history of nyc, and its called gotham oddly enough. really great book filled with lots of info and history and the origins of the city. the conference house was built in 1680 to give you an idea how long people have been here. thats one of my favorite places on all of staten island. just thinking ben franklin and adams went there to talk with the british about not having the American Revolution...yeah. its not all big buildings and random people around here.
  2. you might have just got some bad gas.
  3. atari
  4. keep em. the sites been f@#ked up anyway for the past few days at least. it seems better now anyway. besides they can be turned off so f@#k it.
  5. the cube at st. marks. i used to get my hair cut over there on astor... john lennons favorite spot, strawberry fields near central pk. 72nd ish this is manhattan. probably the last bit of primordial forest as it was when "discovered" its really far up there. chinatown brooklyn college. the feast at san gennaro on mulberry st. terribly crowded. great food lots of people. i saw junior from the sopranos oddly enough here a couple of months ago. wasnt during the feast but it was that crowded though. (i didnt recognize him, i dont really watch) more wall. and finally washington sq pk again. every first sat of may used to be pot day here. dont really know if it still goes on. hell of a time though. there was a guy one year about 3 blocks away from the protest smoking a joint in front of mcdonalds on broadway. a cop came over to him and said.. you cant do that here, you have to at least be in the park... always something happening in there. they were filming some movie or something there the past couple of weeks. just some of the $h! thats around here. i gotta say those pics of edmonton looked real nice. with the mountains and water there. lots of nice looking towns all around.
  6. this is the plaque on the conference house on the butt end of staten island. it overlooks the raritan river between ny and nj. thats the house where the last attempt at a truce was discussed. the plaque explains it. i took a piece of rock from the house one night. i think i still have it wow..just noticed the date. sept. 11. woooo. eeriey. and the view out, one reason i like it so much down there. this is the chrysler building at night wall st. i hate it down there. really feels like youre trapped in a canyon. very intimidating and overwhelming. yes there is some park land around here. washington sq. park. chess games like this are common. old young black white. usually good money riding on the games. and often times some blizzunts.
  7. yeah it should have been here much...much sooner. of course its no reason to stand up and do the dance of joy. i wholeheartedly believe most of the problems and half assed vehicles were due to budget limitations. i cant be entirely sure but that and a lack of balls to throw em down and letting it ride--again possibly due to overhead and poor alignment strategies. global and otherwise. at least it seems as if both equinox and torrent will be differentiated more substantially. i wont hold my breath though. i do like what this brings to the table. they are both good looking vehicles that do stand out at least visually. and now perhaps will have more to back it up.
  8. The Chinese motor is probably (more than) adequate but its time to offer us the good stuff. I doubt most people wouldnt even know what was under the hood until all the magz blew it up. It absolutely has to have everything tweaked. It seems being stiff as a board would garner a free pass like honda and bmws entries but i would hope its tuned a little more appropriately. Gt? GXP? ehh. Gt would be nice only because that would leave open the possibility for a bigger engine. or one with a turbo or supercharger slapped on it. Either way a more respected motor coupled with the modest exterior and clever interior could only help boost sales. and of course the price has got to be on. 275 hp pontiac torrent-now were talking? keep it coming.
  9. id like to see another revolutionary innovation. maybe a safety device or an onstar addition. some new braking technology might be nice. you know, one of those why didnt i think of it first kind of things. (and just to beat out the wise asses.. id be nice to see gm cars have a reputation throughout the country and world for braking instead of how too many people think of gm cars only as breaking. )
  10. yeah but the town drunk is more likely to tell you get the thunderbird wine. or cold duck. as far as credibility goes, yeah, sure then. no cupholders. unbelievable. and my cell phone. (if i had one) jeez. lord o' mighty. what am i supposed to do? drive my car? forget about it. arent they sold out anyway?
  11. they got those rear proportions with the lights especially down nice. now lets just get people to build it for 4 cents an hour and well be set.
  12. its very much a well made and well placed advertisement. its a welcome way to advertise. and if anyone cares those doctors you see on the weight loss commercials arent real doctors. most lawyers are paid actors...and the people with the ripped abs had them before they started the ablounge. i say nicely done, gm.
  13. why would i buy a car if i had no place to put my drink?
  14. the first guesses (and cheapies) could be a crank sensor, fuel pump relay, or the ecm. i would check at night to see if any wires are arching. i caught a problem with the spark plug wires like that. they were too close to the manifold and singed. finally it could be the timing chain starting to go. id also get some carb cleaner and see if that helps.
  15. sheepshead. youre such a dick! it saw the salad dressing! hahahaahah. do you know the romeo and juliet fruit? ...canteloupe. ---can't elope for the slower. or how about the newlyweds favorite? lettuce alone. s peanut
  16. yup. blame everyone else.
  17. i know exactly what youre saying. my friends had a pug named walter and he would just sit down on the other side of the room with his junk hanging out there for everyone to see. disgusting. a real pervert. i dont know what he was trying to do sitting there like that. animals are just like people. some are just jerks. not walter though. hes a great little dog. he just didnt know any better. if you cant get your ideas beliefs opinions and values to gel in a way to allow intelligent and constructive conversation you have more work to get done. its good to be opinionated but not at the expense of others. unless its a real danger and this certainly is not... unless of course razor feels tempted. otherwise why not just let it go?
  18. when you realize what exactly it was wagoner walked into when he accepted this job you gotta give him some credit. hes a business man by credential. all of his schooling and experience points towards numbers crunching. nevermind the bloated cost structures, unions, decreasing market share, and an overwhelming public poo pooing of gm cars(some of it very justifiable) he had and has a lot to deal with. and so far hes been rather successful. a lot more to get done but the basic core or foundation seems to be undergoing the necessary repair to make GM competetive and successful. unlike little nero over at the blue oval. i give him a lot of credit and by the time the next guy takes over he will have a great framework to accomplish even more and go to the next level. baby step towards fiscal solvency.

    GO VOTE!

i dont think anyone wanted to prolong the whole process. its crystal clear the country as a whole wanted to see some change. im not a political pundit nor do i want to be one but i admire the way the democrats want to approach the upcoming issues, if they are genuine or not well see. they seem to want to go after the oil companies and rectify the tax systems-again. what that means for us, us being the non 1% of the uber wealthy im not sure. bush is pretty smart in his own right. getting rumsfield out of there when he did and wanting to play ball with the new order. its all very calculated on his part too. wouldnt be surprised if he asked allen to not put up a fight. its either that or learn to quack.
  20. you never know what youll catch.. after that plane or helicopter passes and he says excuse me, it kind of looks like tiger sees the camera briefly but just continues on anyway. either way it falls into line with those flying car adds.
  21. ...whos still stuck in 1983
  22. yeah thats a shame. no reason to runaway though. innocent people dont usually run away. unless youre OJ and not Oc. maybe you come back the time the indian cars arrive here and well all get a good laugh together AT how $h!ty THEY really ARE!
  23. too bad you cant see my reaction. wow. waggoner said something along the lines that cancelling the ev1 program was one of his regrets. i wouldnt be surprised if he in fact he did fast track some of the other programs and technologies. rick wagoner probably will be the guy known for saving General Motors.
  24. another thing to think about. these meeting were supposedely scheduled in advance of the toyota/isuzu deal. so if thats the case why did toyota wait until the day before to make the announcement. GM has a lot of dealings with all these companies. all companies in fact. guess no one finds this as interesting as i do. i was shocked when i learned how much dealings gm has with the other guys.
  25. yeha there were too many pictures of great looking women in that other thread. someone evened it out though. the problem regarding the title is clear. but suffice it to say had it only been geared towards the straight men with pictures of women somebody would feel left out. would they have started their own chat with their own pics or started a protest about how they were excluded...i dont know. i dont care. i find the whole thing rather upsetting and why im putting my 2 cents. razor-- really whats your point to winning an argument like this anyway. they like boys and you like girls. are you trying to save someones soul? coke or pepsi beer or wine. why do you give a $h!. ignore it. dont look at it and move on. i found the whole thing in rather poor taste and not because im straight because of the way in which it went downhill. gratuitious to say the least. i dont think ill think of some people the same again after this. peace
