  1. ...And heres your reason for the press
  2. I didnt get past the first line because of one word. Allow me to embolden it for you. General Motors Corp. may be bowing out of the minivan business. I understand you like the minivan...but this is just speculative. And its debut is approx. 3 years away. Thats plenty of time to initiate a backup or an alternate plan. Theres no need to be an alarmist because of the last line: For whatever reason this has garnered a lot of unnecessary press considering nothing at this time is official.
  3. I dont think you are copus mentis. quick lesson for you: What I said " Im glad im not in shooting distance" Meaning: from you, the angry old man. This would be a threat-- And not at all what I said Im glad you arent in shooting distance. Not what I said. Implied; from me. It was no threat so keep your britches on. See the difference
  4. You sound upset over this. I am glad I am not near you for fear of being shot at. English is a very complex language to master fully. Might I suggest a course in comprehension before entering into logic and debate. The 2 strikes comment is addressed to Haypops--not you. Its the fundamentals that matter most. You know, walk before you can run type of thing. Maybe a nap might be in order? I think you are funny, in your own kooky kind of way.
  5. GM has never said officially they were abondoning the minivans--just these.unlike so many other scrapped programs that you never hear about this one was made public. Like said earlier this happens all the time. and ps. I dont own a firearm.
  6. If its running better why are you worried? Ive never had a car that didnt run better in the cold. Its a good idea to let it warm up for a min or two but after that youre set... Ever notice sometimes people ask what was the temp. when you measured the 0-60 or 1.4 mile time....some will even go so far as to ask about the height --above sea level or what not... whats your cars weight in kilograms? nah, jsut kidding Motors like the cold. Like the commercial says, heat is an engines worst enemy. Maybe you just need an oil change?? --when was the catalytic converter changed if ever?
  7. Yeah man, just highlight with the left mouse button , hit the right click and copy and then paste it into a program like notepad. It should be in "accessories". Its easier for me to do it like that. My thing with music is this--Its like lightning in a bottle. You think of Zep for instance and Robert Plants vocals. Would he have been the success if it wasnt for the other guys in the band? and the melodies that gel with Paige so well? Or Sabbath...or any of the ones that are considered great. People play and people jam but when it comes down to it there is a chemistry and its almost alive when everythings hitting. I think you would like Primus because of the guitarwork...Very,very talented band all around Les Claypools vocals are somewhat of an acquired taste but is one heck of a bass player. The grateful dead were very much like that. Lightning in a bottle. There was always a point in their show when everything came together and just made sense...Im not a dead head, although I like them a little too much, and would never...ever push it on anyone...but lyrically and musically regarding Jerry he was the man. Reminds me of a joke: whatd one deadhead say to the other when they ran out of pot? Damn this music sucks! I understand most people sell them short... but Live...wow. ok done now....sorry about the book. To sum up. Yes, you can save all of them.
  8. Glad im not within shooting distance... First off and most importantly--GM has never said officially they were abondoning the minivans--just these. unlike so many other scrapped programs that you never hear about this one was made public. Like said earlier this happens all the time. Secondly, and this has nothing to do with the aforementioned decision: There is a market shift away from these things. I never stated an opinion about the camino or woody...or whatever. Just a fact jack. Just from a business pov--Say theres 100 people interested in buying a car. Of those 100, 30 could use a minivan..Now from that 30, 20 people would be interested in something other than a minivan but along those lines. That then leaves five people wanting a minivan. What about the other five you might be asking--well, theres just no accounting for everyone I dont understand what the camaro or mustang have to do with anything. And I think woodys are dumb...just for the record. Interesting perhaps...but ehh dont get it. Please do not try to play Kreskin with me. As REG cleverly pointed out I happen to be a curmudgeon when it comes to certain technologies. So grab a glass of the Early Time or Old Grandad or the Vikes and let it sink in, all indications point to a change or a trend with regards to how the minivan is viewed by the majority of car buyers. Just the way it is. Close but no cigar.. Mute is the button on your victrola when the volume is too loud.and haypops, be careful you may be on what i suspect is a very long list. Nevermind the fact hes still grappling the fact they allowed California into the Union. That's two strikes for you.
  9. haha...guess i did go a little overboard...save the shortcuts in notepad or something, then copy and paste them. Thats how I have them saved...no biggy.
  10. Toyota spends money to make money just like any other company. I dont see the revelation. The point of this story was that they are behind budget, understandably no less. New plant, new product, new people. ...It does not make my day any brighter that they are .5 billion behind on this one. Nor does it make the sun shine on a rainy day when toyota makes a small fortune selling 2 passenger cars. The fan boys go both ways evidently Nobody is arguing here. Someone is saying Toyota is losing money, again, understanably and someone else justifies it because they can afford it. I dont see the point. Joint ventures are nothing new. There are alliances all over the place. Any idea what Honda or Toyota gains from entering into these partnerships? Its not completely one sided. Toyota doesnt source their supplies out of the goodness of their hearts. Spitting out random fun facts for no reason is an outright lie. They arent Gods gift to the auto world. I feel badly for anyone who thinks that they are. Facts are fun. Facts about Toyota spun in such a way, for no reason as stated by you ...not so much
  11. Could have fooled me. Well, no not obviously...but c'mon youre the one spitting out all these numbers. Toyota is done for. Mark my words. Their free ride is over. Done. No more. Gone. Thats it....No one is that stupid anymore. I hope they enjoyed it while it lasted. There is nothing special about them. Period.
  12. I dont know what youre getting at? Its pretty clear toyota makes money hand over fist but what does that do for us? If they make 7 Billion and reinsert 15% of that so what? Thats peanuts. Im not sure hwere your are going with this? Wake up people.
  13. im very opionated when it comes to music. I have to be. But this is some of the stuff i could scrounge up...Some of the sound quality might not be there, but what do you expect.? razor, theres a show on friday night called Friday Night Ricks. 14. \\blah blah blah, man....that he hell are you trying to say?
  15. You gotta tell those hormone enraged moms t.s. Then tell the kids to pipe down moms drivin'.
  16. Lesux will never be a Mercedes. Sorry. Just never going to happen. Ever. They might be reliable. Whoopy Hoo. Id still rather be picked up on the side of the road in a Benz...a really nice benz like the - does it matter- than a Lexus. seriously. but maybe thats just me. A Jag too would be nice.
  17. The minivan is going to go the way of the El Camino or the woody or the whatever. They wont be minivans much longer. ..They will be something else that more people want. ITs not all BOF and RWD or blah blah blah..... Get a minivan. dont get a minivan. Were talking 3 years from now anyway. f@#k that. Im sure youll find something else to tide you over while you wait that long anyway. I know what im willing to spend and what i want. Ill take my chances and wait it out anyway. Im not that thick headed or stubborn to see it otherwise.... Some people need a bus to get around.

In a challenging market, we are pleased to be gaining momentum with our truck lineup, which we attribute to offering the best fuel economy and the best warranty in the segment, " said Mark LaNeve, General Motors North America vice president, Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing. "Importantly, sales were solid throughout the month with dealers driving traffic with our annual year-end Red Tag Event." The Red Tag Event runs through January 2, 2007. GMC was up 23 percent retail, compared with a year ago, with double-digit sales increases for the Sierra, Yukon and Yukon XL. GM continues to reduce its reliance on daily rental sales. Sales to daily rental companies were down 13 percent compared to year-ago levels, while non-daily rental fleet business was up 5 percent. Overall fleet sales of 80,452 vehicles were down 7 percent compared with last November.
  20. Thanks BP Heres some more reading from bloombergs site. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=con...id=aqB8GFBTzHgM http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=con...id=aLT.UNk4AJ2Y http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=con...id=awqy43AioeS4 Part of me is saying, that prick, right as the LA show starts and the other part is saying good riddance to the circus act. Might wind up on more peoples to buy list, especially if theres good reaction to the show, no? oh, and anyone near Flint should check the tallest building and try talking BMan off the ledge...or at least warn the people walking by.
  21. HAHAH. You ever watch Arrested Development? You should. Only 2.5 seasons and quite possibly one of the best written shows...ever. Razor, you seem to love the cheese metal, and I cant fault you for that, to each their own. ..Poison, white snake, great white, ...I kinda missed that boat but know plenty who dig it The best thing about classic rock for me is everything I buy is always new. Grew up with Jimi (James Marshal) Hendrix, Sabbath, Cream, Airplane...the Dead, FLOYD--perhaps my favorite right now...Echoes/Animals..The WAll....gilmours guitar work is absolutely fantastic...Primus. NIN, Ministry, ...just so many wonderful bands. You should check Bile, Hanzel and Gretel, and Titwrench... Pantera...poor Dime..RIP...NIrvana. (check serve the servants, opening track from in utero) Metallica...GNR...and so many more you havent heard of SO many more to list... Lots o' good stuff out there.
  22. Deal! Theres three bridges and two tunnels, just tell me which direction.
  23. I edited the title so I wouldnt confuse anyone else. This is what prompted me to put this here. I think a 12 cylinder would do wonders for Cadillac, especially in Europe where they want to sell the rest of their line. Add a diesel or a miserly 4 at the lower end of the chain and theyd be set.
  24. Video of the Enclave intro with Wags and Woods
  25. I just came across this. Future Caddy Plans? Theres a picture of a coupe rendering and some ideas about possible future direction.
