  1. U-G-L-Y! The Outlook is definitely the best looking one, IMO. Thought GM was getting away from the slight design-mod, rebadge idea?
  2. did someone say 78 Olds 442? More stuff here! http://public.fotki.com/mrblackwell17/olds...le-1/1978-442s/
  3. I have to agree! That Astra is a sharp car, especially in that dark blue. I love that color. I really like the lines on the Flextreme, and it looks sharp in red. I for one, am getting bored with almost everything being silver nowadays. I can do without the Segway's though, but I guess for production that space would be utilized differently...
  4. I feel like I have seen the front of the Coupe before. By any chance was it the car actually under the tarp when Lutz was on 60 minutes and gave us that snippet of a preview a while back and got us all excited and worked up?
  5. I think they still need to offer a 2 door version of this car. Would improve its looks 100 fold and there is still a market out there, albeit a small one, for a nice 2 door coupe, like the Monte that just died.
  6. I just purchased a 2006 Colorado 4x4 Extended Cab Z71. I really don't like the small 15 inch wheels and tires and would like to replace them with the 18 inch wheels that come with the Extreme and the ZQ8 sport suspension option. Is this a possible swap? I have always heard that 2wd wheels will not work on 4wd trucks, but its not like I'm going mudding with it and putting all of the stresses of a 4wd on it daily. Some hauling, some towing, but thats about it. Does anyone know if this will work? Also, does anyone know what the tire conversion would be from my 15's to the 18's to keep the same diameter, speed, and braking the same as it is now? Thanks, any help or infomation is appreciated. Scott
  7. Is there a car in this picture?
  8. Saw this ad today in my new Autoweek magazine and thought the Equinox looked really good up front. After looking at a current model, I realized the changes. Small print at the bottom says its only a test vehicle and not for sale, but it looks good to me.
  9. I remember 76 and 77 Cutlasses and 442's having the 260 with a 5 speed. Got pretty good gas mileage back in the day for a "big" car.
  10. Sold it to make money...and piss of the girlfriend when she was caught cheating. But pretty much just for some profit. It was only a 305 2 barrell, but was a nice car. That was at a time when I turned cars around pretty quick...buy 'em, clean 'em, sell 'em. Had I put different tires on, I may have made more $$$ Thanks
  11. Very, very cool pictures and story. Glad the ebay purchase worked out. I am on ebay continuously looking for a 1976 442 that my wife will let me buy. She doesn't understand that it IS a necessary purchase and WOULD benefit her and my 3 year old son greatly. Glad to see the love for the mid 70's cars still alive. I've owned a couple 76 442's and a 77 Monte that I would love to have back. Very nice! My first 1976 442 is in my signature. I didn't get a picture of my other 76 442 since I bought it to resell and did so within two weeks. Just enough time to wash it. Here is a pic of my 1977 Monte Carlo that was given to my girlfriend, at the time, by her Grandmother. I then 'bought' the car for $1.00. It had 35K on it in 2000. When I got it: When I got ready to sell it:
  12. After shopping this weekend at Buick and GMC dealers, my wife and I settled on the Acadia. I wondered outloud if there would be a Chevy version. Now after seeing that sketch, I don't think I'll wait for the Chevy. That does not look good at all. F-U-G-L-Y The Enclave was nice, but too nice for us with a 3 year old and the Acadia has really grown on me especially since seeing that Blue-Gold exterior color up close and in some sunlight. Just my two cents, but I agree that Chevy should shorten it to compete with the likes of the Edge.
  13. I'm with ya on that! The front view of this car is fantastic! Now add some portholes, fix the tailight/decklid area and add the GS badges. I'd buy it, but not for more than 45K, as someone already stated.
  14. Looks like a chop job to me. Wheels....good, roof rails.....bad. Messes the picture up. You would think after all this time, they could find a decent photographer (or someone could spend more time on the chop.)
  15. NOS, you always do great work. That coupe looks sweet. Any way you could do a small color pallate for the original pic like you did for the Camaro? Trying to decide what color I am going to want mine to be. Thanks
  16. I'm going to miss the Monte Carlo...one of the few that will. My 95 is pushing 175K and still runs strong and I only have basic maintenance costs in it. I am probably one of the few that enjoy the two door mid-size coupe and my options for replacing my ride are falling by the wayside. Maybe I will just take advantage of all the one's sitting around on the lots if the rebates and incentives would help me buy some suitable replacement wheels for an SS Monte.
  17. Personally, I like the car. Not overly excited about it, but it looks good. I like the new logo and the overall design, but I would REALLY like to see a two door version come about. That way I could work towards replacing my Monte Carlo. Maybe its the pictures, but it seems to be the same size as the Malibu and CTS, not the Impala or Monte. Is it just me? Will have to wait for real world contact at my local dealer. Could this also be a possible platform for a new Impala SS?
  18. I totally agree, but still, the TB SS has a nice V8 and one single exhaust outlet for that little rumble. A second one would at least make it look better from the rear. I know its minor, but those are the things I notice. Heck, my '95 "Ol' beater" Monte Z34 has dual outlets. Just a minor design cue that I like, and one that I feel should have been carried out on the TB SS.
  19. Can we get those dual exhaust outlets on the TB SS please?!?!?!
  20. Change that marble looking plastic to wood and I'll buy one as is. Well, with my name on the seats instead of Dana's!
  21. Looks like Chevy has finally given up on being the only 2 door car in NA$CAR. I know the market is small, but I still see quite a few Monte's on the road around here. I've lost my love of NA$CAR racing since they started with the Ford Taurus in '98 and was glad that Chevy stayed true to the 2 door "stock" car. Looks like time has run out. If anyone knows the status of the production Monte, I would appreciate it. http://sports.yahoo.com/nascar/news;_ylt=A...=yhoo&type=lgns

    ...

It looks alright to me, but its still a Dodge. A 2 door version would probaly look better, especially with the R/T badging. Its too bad we have all gotten away from the 2 door cars. Guess I will just keep driving my Montes.
  23. Works for me, just make it fit between the Malibu and the Impala, V8 and rear drive and I'd buy one.
  24. 2008? The sooner the better! GM has the ability to speed up the process. Case in point....Tahoe, Trucks.....come on, lets not be late to the party again.
