The 9-4X better not be a spin-off of the new Hummer H4 or I will be quite disappointed and I may throw a temper tantrum if this happens.

I was leaning towards getting a car again for the first time in a very long time but this may sway me into getting a Canyon.

MAN!!!! I told you guys it was happening. Nobody seemed to ctach on to what I was saying when this topic was discussed about GM midsize trucks don't excite.

"The moves sit well with Joe Serra, president of Serra Automotive, which includes Saturn of Southfield and Saturn of Clarkston." I worked at Saturn of Clarkston when it first opened up a long, long time ago. Wow I'm old, I was a porter there then(16yrs old) and business started picking up so rapidly I could hardly keep up.

I agree too it is good to keep your talent pool instead of losing it, and it does not equate to that much when divided out. But again, the peons get shafted. History always shows the people low on the totem pole do a ton of work and get hardly if any credit while the people on top take the credit and bask in the glory.

What about GM having to rename the Buick Lacrosse to the Allure in Canada. Lacrosse translated loosely into masturbation in French...whoops!

I can't believe this, and it's no wonder the workers that got paycuts and buyout are furious. I would be too if I worked my fingers to the bone and then agree to a paycut and then find out the higher-ups want to pat themselves on each others backs and get a fat payout!! Delphi seeks court OK to pay up to $37 million in executive bonuses David Shepardson / Detroit News Washington Bureau WASHINGTON -- Delphi Corp. will seek court approval to pay its top 400 executives between $20.2 million to $37.6 million in bonuses through the end of the year, but hasn't disclosed how much its executives might get after the company exits bankruptcy protection. Troy-based auto parts supplier Delphi has previous received the court's OK to pay its executives bonuses since it filed for bankruptcy protection in October 2005. This is the fourth such request. Delphi has said the bonuses are necessary to remain competitive and retain key white collar personnel. This request covers between July 1 and Dec. 31 and is identical to three previous requests. Delphi has awarded more than $60 million in bonuses to executives since entering bankrutpcy. Its board of directors held a meeting July 16 to approve the program. U.S. Bankrutpcy Judge Robert Drain will hold a hearing on the Delphi request Sept. 27. But the bonuses have drawn the ire of Delphi's unions, who note their members have been forced to accept pay cuts and that the company has shed more than 20,000 union employees. Delphi also plans to close 25 of its 33 U.S. facilities. John Sheehan, Delphi's chief restructuring officer, said in an interview last week that Delphi would disclose its post-bankruptcy bonus program in October. Initially, Delphi had envisioned giving its top 500 executives up to 10 percent of the company's stock and $88 million in cash when the company exits bankruptcy -- a package that could be worth

I'm late to the party commenting on this car. I like it Mazda's looks improve all the time, but isn't their reliability suspect? They usually rank pretty low in that category from what I understand, maybe someone can correct me on this.

I really like this car now especially after seeing the entire car from these pics. And I like the Sport Combi wagon even more, what is it about a hopped wagon that is cool anyway? Its just too bad that it will be out the average joe's price range. http://www.autoblog.com/2007/09/11/frankfu...essed-in-black/

I like it but too bad the car will be $50,000, a current 9-3 Aero is $40,000 with all the options. I wonder if the front end gets a different treatment as well? 280hp is going to be nothing in the near future for these cars mark my words :AH-HA_wink:
-
Yes sir you are right, because I optioned out my 3.6Di CTS almost all the way up to $50,000...YIKES!!!!
-
Yes thats true, but is there such a thing as too much junk in the trunk?

This guy is just another N.Y. Times liberal ass puppet who doesn't deserve a column. The N.Y. Times exists only to piss people off and most of the time it works, just look at us getting riled up...LOL!!
-
Let me know how the twin-t*rbos are working out :AH-HA_wink: Hopefully you'll have an experience with them when you are over there.
-
For what cars? The CTS shows a 18" performance collection option which has the all-season tires, and a 18" summer tire package. I don't see anything available for the STS other than the appearance package which includes chromed 18" wheels.

Also we will never see the RS6 here in the states anyway...Europe only.

Well its finally here or there?! You can now build and spec your 2008 Cadillac on their site. The slow rollout of the info on all their sites has every customer and dealership aggravated I'm sure. http://www.cadillac.com/byo/jsp/cadillac/s...=&year=2008

What about the Aura and Vue greenlines? A friend of mine also has a 07 Silverado hybrid that he drives. These are milder hybrids of course, but they may not be in the realm of the gas mileage you talk of that the Vibe gets, they have to quiet some of the greenies rants against GM.

Because Toyota can do no wrong, even if they maybe wrong. Toyota is just upset that the Volt is getting more media attention and the fact that it is superior and a far far better looking car than the Prius ever will be. The range on the Volt is just preliminary figures, also, I bet by the time it does come to production the range on it will be expanded. That is just a fact on how swift technology is moving on these hybrids, and GM is ever improving this, they are working night and day on this stuff believe me!!
-
A sweet car but it needs to go on a diet. They quoted it at almost 4,500lbs!! If the RS6 dropped a little weight could you imagine how much more of a performer it would be. Its all about the power to weight ratio.

Or how about this little juicy tidbit? Focus on the h.p. numbers in the article. http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...showtopic=19552

Everyone has a side to take on the Unions, its either love them or hate them. I for one see both sides, there are Union guys I work with that are some of the nicest guys you'll ever work with, and then there are the diehards who are complete jerks and won't even talk to you. So in those cases I give them the same silent treatment right back, but the guys that say hi I have no problem with. Part of it is that there alot of young guys coming in working here and they completely hate that and feel threatened. Oh well, I still think GM will be better off without them but it is nothing personal.
-
It has been very quiet in the world of the GM - UAW talks, especially here at work lately. The union guys seem unusually strange, there seems to be a calm before the storm effect. Alot of the union guys almost are acting a little afraid to me and most of the time they are very upbeat. So I was surfing along today and found this bit of news at AUTOBLOG, maybe someone else on here knows whats going on. Stocking up: GM and Ford want to fund health care account with shares Posted Sep 5th 2007 1:01PM by Jonathon Ramsey Filed under: Chrysler, Ford, GM, UAW/Unions The Big Three automakers' massive pension liabilities are well known. To remove that burden, a fund called VEBA -- voluntary employee beneficiary association -- has been mooted. Automakers would put an agreed upon sum into the VEBA, after which they would be free from further pension obligations. The UAW would be responsible for administering the fund. Goodyear used that exact setup last year to end a strike with the United Steel Workers. Goodyear, though, put $1 billion cash into the fund. The automakers have suggested using cash and stock. It's been speculated that GM could need to throw $30 billion into a VEBA to be free and clear, and that's a burden that would be more easily handled with cash and stock. Goodyear's stock increased by 25% after the steel workers agreed to the VEBA, but there are no guarantees that that would happen again with GM, Ford, or Chrysler stock. To get any of this to work, the UAW will have to agree to the VEBA at all, and then convince members to take the cash and stock option, which would require getting everyone to believe that the stock will appreciate quickly enough and steadily enough to keep pace with disbursements. It is the automakers, however, that are really under the gun. To avoid any chance of a strike, automakers need to come to an agreement with the UAW by September 14. That's the date the current agreement expires, and a strike could occur any time afterward.
