  1. Robert Cumberford who does the design analysis column for Automobile Magazine wasn't exactly 100% sold on the new Tundra in the Feb. 07 issue. I quote : "The Silly Little Kick-Up in the sill line looks like a mistake. But there are lots of those on the Tundra" . He is referring to the sill line in the extended cab window in case you were wondering.
  2. Agreed, no more Impala SS FWDs or Lacrosses, and I think the Lucerne should also be RWD too. Lets get back to the real deal!
  3. Is the Equinox Sport going to be at Detroit, and if not how come the Torrent is there? I really want to check out the Equinox, that may be my next purchase.
  4. The 'colored' vents look horrible. They should have left them black like the others.
  5. The back end is the only thing that bugs me about this car. It looks like it was rearended by a truck, and the tailights scream Mitsubishi Diamante. It somewhow does not flow with the rest of the car. But I will reserve my further opinions on it until I see it on Saturday.
  6. Silver is hot hot hot!!!!! Those 2 shots are absolutely stunning.
  7. I'll add my my 2 cents, and I imagine someone has already touched on this but my eyes are blurry from trying to read all the posts... whats up with weird thingy/emblem on the front seats sticking out? Is that thing going to jab you in the back? Overall I like the car alot, the problem is I see it going way up in sticker price putting it too out of reach for my measley budget, and suddenly an 06/07 CTS looks affordable, hell even a 06/07 STS will be affordable now too, and the STS suddenly looks neglected which I'm sure will change very very soon.
  8. 300hp from the 3.6 VVT DI, I will beleive it when I see it first hand :AH-HA_wink: .
  9. I think its pretty damn sweet, and I applaud them for sticking very close to the other concept at this stage.
  10. If they do clean up the details which seems to me everybody is agreeing on it might be good. But as of right now I am not feeling it.
  11. I for one don't need or should get a paycut. I'm a contract worker at GM and I have only received ONE raise in the 5 YEARS that I have worked here. It upsets me to have this burden on my shoulders everyday and it takes a big toll on my morale. Beleive me if I could find a job that is closely related to what I do for more money I would jump in a heartbeat, but the way the economy is going in Michigan particularily I would have to move out of state for this to benefit me. I am not willing or ready at this time to make that jump, and so it goes. I will tell this though, I am very grateful I have a job at all during these rough times!!
  12. Damn good news!!!! Am I blind though, where's the link?
  13. So they still think everyone wants something from the Fast & Furious crowd that died out 3 years ago?!! Let me find the worlds biggest toilet so I can flush everyone of these cars as it comes out of the factory. This thing is hideous!!!!!!
  14. Interesting article. Toyota recalls more vehicles in the U.S. than it sold last year prompting study of Vehicle Development Process. Last year, Toyota recalled 2.38 million vehicles in the U.S. -- more than the 2.26 million vehicles Toyota sold in that year. This statistic resulted in a formal review by Toyota to determine what needed to change. After a two-month review of its product development process, the significant lessons learned include: 1. Engineers in some cases may have rushed out products without conducting enough quality checks, nor building a sufficient number of physical prototypes. 2. Toyota also concluded that it outsourced engineering perhaps more than it should have, and relied on computer-aided engineering and other computer analysis too much. 3. Toyota is determined to build more physical prototypes in the future to quell recalls and quality glitches. Other actions taken as a result of the study include the decision to slow down Toyota’s ambitious growth plans around the world. Each product plan in every market was reviewed to determine whether to delay, cancel, reallocate or proceed. This review was in response to product recalls and other quality problems. Even as it slows down the pace of new product introductions, Toyota still wants to extend its business in every segment (of the auto market) in every region of the world. Toyota sees its growth coming from three key efforts: 1. To transform its Lexus premium brand, a North American-only franchise today, into a more global premium franchise; 2. To launch low-cost $6,000 to $7,000 cars in emerging markets around the world; 3. To develop commercial vans that would compete globally, including in Europe and North America. (Source: Wall Street Journal 12/11/2006) Despite the recalls at Toyota, GM brands still lag behind most of our transplant competition when it comes to the public's "trust" perception, according to Strategic Vision Inc. A look at the competition... Volvo 61% Pontiac 22% Toyota 43% Chevrolet 21% Honda 35% GMC 20% Cadillac 34% Hummer 16% Buick 23% Saturn 7% Saab 22%
  15. I subscribe to CAR which means I will get the issue at the end of the month, they seem to be coming later and later. That magazine is either hot or cold with me anymore, they are starting to hate on Americans too much in the publication. But CAR usually is pretty close with their info, more than our mags, I will give them that.
  16. They can add all the H.P. they want, but the car is showing its age and how unrefined it is compared to the Vette.
  17. Once it is cleaned up (ready for production) it will look good. It is not a bad effort, there is just a little too many clashes of details going on with it as of right now.
  18. I am sad to O.C. has a point ot an extent(just an extent). I emailed this to some people I know out west and they openly do not like American vehicles. It all comes down to the current styles the domestics are coming out with. The Impala for instance which was a highlight of the article still has a blue collar nascar stigma attached to it which makes alot of people (the ones I talked to) run away as well as the Monte Carlo. The current vehicles coming out from GM and Ford they do not like, were as they are a little more in favor of Chryslers designs. I think that trend will change for the better in favor of GM and Ford in the near future. But alot of it comes from this point, the people I talked to love the more expensive cars from GM, out of their price range, but they said GM or Ford for that matter do not have anything at all that is attractive to them in their price range. Aveos and Cobalts don't cut it and neither does the Impala or the current Malibu(which will change for the better) the G6 is mediocre. Hmmm...oh well.
  19. My reference was to MT, they usually dump on any domestic vehicle. I realize there were no Japanese pickups this year. I'm just happy that a little flack can be taken off of GM and they can rub this in the face of all those people(media) that predict doomsday for GM every other month.
  20. Good news good news, and from MT who would have thought. I like the GMC lookswise, but a win nonetheless for GM. Take that you anti-american media bitches!!!!
  21. I like what they did with exterior of the new Expedition, the interior leaves a little to be desired for me. Again this is a case were the Tahoe could have used the 6-speed trans.
  22. Out of all of Chrysler's products the SRT-8 Magnum is one of my very favorites. Now if I could just convince my... girlfriend That is a tasteful update, and I do hope the interior got some tlc too.

Chrysler CAN do excellent concepts but I think they are spending way too much time in this department. Where is the trickle down effect? As I stated in another topic about their new CUV, they are whipping out the products, but the execution is going haywire, poor poor interiors and lack of quality are the results that are starting to show through.
  24. Its funny when you go by the Delta plant it does not say GM on it, at least thats what I heard from a friend that was on the freeway going by it recently.
  25. Supply and demand issues, I get it, but I just hate the abuse GM always gets from the media about how ancient the 4speeds are and how they should have introduced them in the first place with these transmissions, and this how the imports always have the upper hand, etc....etc.
