  1. I have an 2002 S-10 ZR2 that is coming up on 100k. I bought it new in 02 and other than routine stuff wearing out it has been a very good truck, it helps to swear off taking it offroading anymore. Thats saves a lot of wear and tear on a daily driver. I would buy another truck like it when mine wears out but the Colorado/Canyon to me aren't a good enough replacement. Alot of ZR2 owners feel this way, they feel jaded that GM never came out with an excellent direct replacement.
  2. Yes, why is GM starting to put clocks in most of their cars/trucks anyway? Personally I think its time to axe the H2, its getting long in the tooth. I never really cared for it to begin with and to just come out with bold new colors and a interior refresh does not cut it. Its a hog that needs to go to the slaughter.
  3. Whats up with the weird access panel thing on the Titan on the left side by the bumper?
  4. That was short lived. Does anybody remember Autoworld in Flint Michigan, this reminds me of that.
  5. I think VW is spiraling out of control, they need to focus all their attention on the U.S. market and fixing that before deciding to grow even bigger!
  6. Not with VM Motori, who the hell are they?!! That sounds like they are buying this engine from some guy in an alley that has a bunch of stolen engines in a truck. Is this company even reputable? GM cannot compete without a competent, proven diesel engine, the Europeans will have a field day with them if not.
  7. GM can't be hip with that old bag Rosie Perez shown in the first post. What was the last movie she was in anyway, white men can't jump?!! Get YOUNGER people in the ads that more of us have interest in. I think the new Cadillac ads are a start, the Chevrolet truck ads are already getting on my nerves, I think they are going to beat that song to death just like they did with...'Like a Rock', that and 'An American Revolution', time to change. I still think that Chevrolet needs to shake the nascar stigma image that I seem to get in my opinion from them. I give Pontiac a C- for their ads.
  8. Big cars (by European standards) + small roads = BAD! The Escalade, H3, and even the SRX are huge vehicles to them in Europe. Their roads are obviously smaller which require smaller vehicles, such as the BLS. But the BLS being a watered down 9-3 does not cut it, even with the current diesel in it. The diesel game has moved along so far and so fast that a mediocre diesel is not even considered anymore. Look at the diesels from BMW and Mercedes, they are possibly more cutting edge than most gas engines out today. So of course the Europeans are harsh when it comes to something that comes across the pond. If GM is going to sell a car there I think it needs to be developed entirely in Europe from the ground up to even have a fighting chance.
  9. Of course they hate it, its American, but of course they have different needs than us. But still its not a Rover so its crap in their eyes!! I never got that about them even though I would never buy a Rover they seem to think it can do no wrong. I could tell you different first hand, anyway here you go. http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/first_drive.p...=412&page=1

    Compass

There is a reason why the Compass name ends in ASS, because it looks like ASS!! The Patriot I will say is mildly better but not by much. I know Jeep wants to be more affordable but do it in a why that is not watering down the offroad worthiness that it built on in the first place and putting cheapness in its place.
  11. I was polarized on the styling on it when it came out. I did not like it at first, I really am not too in love with it still, but after driving one that a friend of mine has who works for Chrysler its not too bad. My friend is on his second Commander and I like the new one even better with the V8 in it. But I think D/C and Jeep for that matter needs to trim down their lineups so they don't have vehicles like these with $8,000 incentives. I would be happy if they got rid of the Compass and stuck with just the Patriot, but thats just me.
  12. "For instance my favorite GTO color is Midnight Blue, so if I could find one for $20k then I'd take it and run, but other than that, it would have to be one hell of a deal." If I could find an 06 I would jump at one too. I went on Autotrader and they are still showing a bunch of 06's on the lots here in Michigan. If this is true or not I don't know, but I am not paying $34,500 for one, as some of them are listed at still. I would hope they would broom one out the door for really really cheap.
  13. So whats next #1NAYSAYER? Good lord did someone piss in your mouth this morning, I mean c'mon give credit where credit is due. So the Prius is the next best thing since sliced bread especially when it gets 30 - 40% less fuel economy than they stated, and I can get a Jetta TDi that will do better than it. In the mean time GM is exploring new venues and are showing better and better knowhow when it comes to new technology. Have you forgot the Autonomy, the Sequel, the Equinox fuel cell, and now the Volt! Look at how far this technology has come since the Autonomy concept.
  14. This is a very pivotal car for GM. This says to all the naysayers that GM is not the slow lethargic giant it once was, that was slow to react to market demands. I think if they continue on the development pace they are this will be out sooner than expected. But the only downfall is, all these companies not just GM developing these technologies have a hard time bringing this stuff to market because other companies (suppliers) can only produce the components going into these cars on a limited basis.
  15. Yeah he starts out talking about the XR and then it somehow gets turned into the XE version...hmmm?
  16. I say so too, it has the chunky Sebring interior over the top plastic styling to it.
  17. I'm screwed then...I'll bend over and grab my ankles I guess when the time comes to get a new vehicle.
  18. I agree I need you to deal for me too, maybe I don't know how to talk to the sales people here in Michigan or something but they usually don't give in when I am dealing with them. I have walked out of alot of dealerships pissed off because they won't budge an inch. Maybe I need to be more of an a-hole with them. In fact maybe I should lie to the sales guy that keeps calling me and just make up a number from another dealership and say flat out I'm going there and what are you going to do for me?
  19. A friend of mine is already giving me crap about the Vette because he is a Dodge guy. He says the Viper has 600hp and the Vette needs a supercharger to compete with it so its cheating. I said whatever it takes to blow the Viper in the weeds is not cheating in my book. Chevy could come out with a super large displacement engine like the Viper but they don't want to, 7 liters I think is enough for the Z06 and 6.2 for the s/c.

Agreed. It looks so much better in person. Pictures do not convey what it looks like in person. I sent pictures to some friends and they said it looked completely disproportioned. But once we all saw it in person we all agreed it looked simply amazing. I'll take an STS for cheap or even a CTS but GM went and raised all their lease rates after Jan. 2 putting them out of reach for me even in a PEP. I don't know what the craze was about in the BMW display(mostly white cars ) by the way. I went opening day on Saturday and there a ton of people in that display but Cadillac was a little thin. That I guess changed from what AM6 Cutlass said ^ above.
  21. I thought that you could, hmm GM should have done this right off the bat, another F-UP!! But regardless I think by and far the new CTS was the best production car at the show. I usually go with a group of people to the show some of which are big GM skeptics and they were extremely impressed with new CTS, even the Malibu too. I still think they have a long way to go though, they better follow this up with a pretty damn good refreshing of the STS to keep people coming back to Cadillac. The funny thing was the CTS made the Escalades look like crap in my opinion. They just looked too over the top which I know is what they wanted but in a way they looked gaudy to me and circus like in comparison. The CTS looked very elegant and I think they need to convey this more across the line in the near future.
  22. It seems like Jag and Aston Martin do that every year. They show the concept cars to the press and then when it comes to public days they pull them out never to be seen. Don't you think that you would want more exposure of these cars to generate excitement other than showing your outdated S-Type at the show?
  23. That is kind of creepy that these designers are combing around somebodies house and these people actually let them. I don't know if I would want something as intrusive as that to happen. I might meet them somewhere and discuss different aspects of what I like and don't like with fashion, art, books, and cars.
  24. Hello...anybody?
