  1. That red WS6 is sweet.
  2. pic-shoppe' ~
  3. For some folk, 'tech' it's never enough/right. Just subliminally unhappy unless it's brand new/different. Having a fob in your pocket you never have to take out, and a push-button start is ideal- the pinnacle. Hands-free & superior in minimal/no time required outside of opening the vehicle door and pushing a button. As soon as you have to 1. pull out your phone, 2. enter your thumbprint, 3. open the vehicle app, 4. look into the camera- you've exponentially increased the time & effort to get to the same point. Of course- if your phone is dead (and there's no fob), you'r stranded. But this is what consumerism focuses on; convincing you that 'newer is better'.
  4. I think I posted this before: '39 Peterbilt, 1 of about a dozen built. Found abandoned, rusted & busted in the Nevada desert. Rescued & recycled :
  5. ^ I've also liked that feature. The Taurus we had here for a short spell had it. This very morning, I went out the door with my wife- she was going out, I was going to my truck to see what I had left in the bed last night (it rained here a decent amount). For some reason, she apparently didn't see me cross in front of her car (despite us conversing from the house thru the garage) in a t-shirt and pajama bottoms, and she buttoned the garage door down and backed down the driveway. I yelled and waved my arms- she finally saw me at the end of the driveway & opened the door. I was in me jammie-bottoms- no keys/fob, and the truck was locked. I was nearly locked out, in me jammies. And I actually did have the flash thought- 'too bad the truck doesn't have a keypad'. ?
  6. Idiotic - why anyone would want that is beyond me.
  7. Bi-sected SBC piston (using it as a computer-side coaster, flipped over, obviously) ~
  8. That'd be me.
  9. Wife & I’s 3rd stab is in about 10 days.
  10. I’m of the opinion that certain vintage cars are ‘untouchable’ as far as radical mods go. ‘56-‘58 Furys have achieved that IMO, due to rarity, value & significance. Above car appears to be a Belvidere…
  11. No spoilers, no spats, no alloys rims, just poverty caps & a long 'glass hood (hopefully) over an SD455 motor.
  12. This is exactly the same mindset I have with my B-59 - take a huge, finned coupe and inject serious power into it. '59 DeSoto Firesweep Sportsman, 440 CI Cross-Ram dual-quad. I wish it was a Fireflite (2 models higher) with more chrome, and not nuts about the color scheme, but it'll do nicely. https://www.ebay.com/itm/265439541009?mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5337851298&customid=495318&toolid=10001&mkevt=1
  13. I find Acuras are pretty bad too (Hondas are fine, for some reason).
  14. Nice, clean, non fake-manual shifter :
  15. I take that back; I forgot ~ My '64 Catalina (Roto-Hydramatic 375 3-spd) dumped it's fluid in the inspection station line in '92. I bought it with 69K miles on it in '91, had the trans reconditioned, and drove it again for a total of 25K miles. The Allison 1000 in my '04 was great -zero issues, when I sold it this year at 205K. My buddy bought it, he's driving it as his main truck. Put 1000 miles on it in roughly a week- knowing him that's going to be his regular mileage pace. So The better trans with (crazy to some) better maintenance gave out before the 5h!t trans with poor maintenance. Interesting, if anecdotal...
  16. • It's the same car- I trust the site I read about it on. Restorations happen, David. • Where'd you come up with that "less than 1%" figure ??? What would you guess the survivor percentage rate of the '53 Eldorado is today (I know the answer). • Everything bought new today is 'solidly 5 figures cash" - to the point the average is basically halfway to 6 figures. Many (most?) homes have more than 1 vehicle.
  17. While true from an investment point in hindsight, Ford was parked in the circa $5 range for some years, IIRC. I think it's still a buy at $19- it's last peak was $32 in the end of '98.
  18. I took note when Ford stock was $2/share. Thought about buying but didn’t. Said to myself- it can’t go lower and Ford isn’t going anywhere. $2500 / 2 = 1250 shares. currently $19.xx/ share. 1250 x $17 = $21,250 profit. ?
  19. Hellrunner could be yours; it's for sale for $295K.
  20. So... it's an injected electric??
