Reading elsewhere; a guy claiming he's trying to junk a car in CA, but the State wants him to pay the past 3 years registration fees (how long he owned it), despite the fact he never registered or drove the car.

Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM
balthazar replied to G. David Felt's topic in Electric Vehicles and Alternative Fuels
It's been whisper quiet on the Atlis front. Quite a while ago they showed this concept off, spouted some lofty claim numbers with it. At least it looked fairly 'butch' [unlike the wheel chock Tesla] and had a usable bed [unlike the wheel chock Tesla]. But in googling it the other day, I found this 2021 image, and it was captioned 'redesigned'. Uh-oh. If true, and serious, wave goo-by to the Atlis, but at least it will have company in the EV scrap bin with Workhorse and Bolinger. These upstarts NEED to realize that styling HAS to go hand-in-hand with functionality in trucks. -
Was any of your post intended to answer mine? BTW- differential oil changes are a once in a lifetime occurance (if that) and are unaffected by dust. I have to wonder -based on numerous posts now- where you’re getting your info on general IC vehicle maintenance… ?

I realize the nature of BE vehicles is excellent acceleration, but that has never been a significant component of pick up sales... basically ever. BE models will obviously push the fact, but do truck buyers care?

Everything is perfect in BE World! ?

Add to that the State charging you sales tax on a used vehicle according to THEIR arbitrary valuation of your vehicle, and NOT on what you actually paid for it. That's not how sales taxes work. Can I pay a sales tax based on MY valuation of a new item I bought, that via my inspection/opinion is far overvalued? Like a new vehicle? Of course; nope. How that's not blatantly illegal, IDK. Oh, and states like KY charging you a YEARLY valuation tax on your vehicle... YEARLY.

'Easiest thing' would to have never built the Blackwings, but Cadillac did. And I'm sure the tooling for the 4.0TT is still in-house. Not saying they'll do it, but I'm sure the 'books' on the 4.0 TT could use some more volume to amortize the R&D costs there. What makes strong sense is the power levels as is are a nice mid-point between 420 and 668.

Motive power has zero to do with the sheet metal body. Zero.

Reminder that Ford also decided to tell private owners of Lightnings they are banned from squeezing 2nd owners for more money, too. - - - - -

They make a lot more than $10K on trucks. It's been pointed out before, but here it is again- there are a handful of aftermarket tuners that have gotten way more than 650 HP out of an Escalade, I've no doubt the running gear can handle it. And with the current generation (or a next one) of the MR suspension, it should handle amazingly good- look at what Cadillac did with the Blackwings- shot to the top in chassis dynamics / performance.

^ I don't expect to see design so pure & inspired... where the form does all the talking, ever again. Sheer masterpiece.

• One customer/friend's wife (in her early 70s) caught COVID in Feb, she was in the hospital beforehand for a bad fall, so before vacc, had mild 'cold symptoms' despite having other contributing factors. Came out of it fine. • Another customer (circa 63) says she had it twice & was in the hospital at least once, I believe before getting vacc'd (I try not to absorb when she describes all her troubles), but she's a medical nightmare. No lasting effects that I know of, wasn't overly serious. • Another customer's daughter tested positive (18), but no symptoms. • A friend's daughter's fiancé just tested positive, he caught it from a co-worker, now the daughter tested positive. All 3 had 3 shots, super careful to the point of paranoia. Daughter has RA, had some breathing trouble, had to go to the hospital to get medication (but wasn't admitted). 3-4 days in so far. Fiancé has 'cold symptoms'. • Another friend, his wife and his 2 kids all had COVID at home, they're vacc'd, he said he was very sick but he's way overweight, has diabetes & high blood pressure. Everyone is fine now. That's my list of people I know that have had it.

^ Seems according to the above 'prevalent hospitalization' chart, that we're seeing the same peak now as we were 1 year ago, when hardly anyone was masking and NO ONE was vaccinated. Interesting.
