  1. * This past Saturday, 05/02/2015, my cousin & I road tripped from northeastern IL to southwestern IL & back. The deal: my cousin covered gas & food; I provided the tunes & itinerary. Read more about the day (including some pics)…: http://www.oldcarsstronghearts.com/2015/05/05/tuesday-trip-16/ Speaking of road trips, of these 4 trailers, I think the Pacemaker would be most appropriate for me…. http://www.oldcarsstronghearts.com/2015/05/05/automotive-daily-107/ Cort www.oldcarsstronghearts.com 1979 & 1989 Caprice Classics | pigValve, paceMaker, cowValve "I don't have time" __ Dido __ 'Sand In My Shoes'
  2. Ch#$r%*et & Pontiac & Buick did the same thing........ I'd be willing to bet that the 1995-2007 "monte carlo" coupe would not have sold as well had it still had the Lumina name. After all, the Lumina had replaced the Celebrity (NOT the MC) in 1990. 3. That's cool, Balthazar! & Cubical ... awesome ... glad this sparked those memories. I've been told that the FL Keys would be perfect for me to go do some writing ... ha. 5. * What’d you buy from this section of classifieds from a 1976 Iowa newspaper? I want a 1976 Caprice or 1976 El Camino! http://www.oldcarsstronghearts.com/2015/05/04/memory-monday-16/ In the 1990s, my home town, Elgin IL, provided exterior scenes for an ABC sitcom: http://www.oldcarsstronghearts.com/2015/05/05/tuesday-tv-16/ Cort www.oldcarsstronghearts.com 1979 & 1989 Caprice Classics | pigValve, paceMaker, cowValve "You were never really ever here" __ Goo Goo Dolls __ 'Here Is Gone'

  7. * Yesterday, 05/02/2015, had awesome weather for a great road trip (northeastern IL to southwestern IL) with a cousin to visit Country Classic Cars & see some friends in different places on the way back. I took a few pics, including at CCC (Staunton IL) & Cozy Dog (ate lunch there, Springfield IL, Route 66) … & have them cued to feature on my website in the coming weeks, including some this week for “Tuesday Trip” (7a US central). Meantime … do you take your daily driver to the track? http://www.oldcarsstronghearts.com/2015/05/01/friday-files-15/ & … what oil do you traditionally use? http://www.oldcarsstronghearts.com/2015/05/02/automotive-daily-104/ Speaking of traditions…. http://www.oldcarsstronghearts.com/2015/05/03/daily-dose-savvy-sun-15/ Cort www.oldcarsstronghearts.com 1979 & 1989 Caprice Classics | pigValve, paceMaker, cowValve "Who do you think you're talkin' to?" __ Lee Roy Parnell __ 'What Kind Of Fool Do You Think I Am?'

  9. Did NOT see as many vintage vehicles on the road yesterday as I thought I would ... considering how gorgeous the weather was. Saw way more at Country Classic Cars (Staunton IL) than I did during the hours riding back'n'forth. BUT, I did see a couple older GM trucks (opposite side of the interstate, so couldn't tell if they were GMC or not) ... 1950s & 1960s vintage. Also, a couple older Cadillacs, including a white convertible, but not the same vintage of the 1 a certain "boss" had. 11. Ha ... had nearly that very conversation with my cousin while we were at Country Classic Cars yesterday, balthazar. 12. * Instead of “Wagon Wednesday”, it was “Winnebago Wednesday”; these were EVERYWHERE when I was a kid! Now, not sure when I last saw one in person. Anyone else remember the Minnie Winnie in ‘Escape To Witch Mountain’? http://www.oldcarsstronghearts.com/2015/04/29/automotive-daily-101/ 4 classic, thoughtful ads: http://www.oldcarsstronghearts.com/2015/04/30/automotive-daily-102/ Cort www.oldcarsstronghearts.com 1979 & 1989 Caprice Classics | pigValve, paceMaker, cowValve "These are the moments that I'm gonna remember most" __ Miley Cyrus __ 'The Climb'

  14. Nothing. My 1979 Caprice Classic is just sitting in the driveway; haven't driven it all week. My 1989 Caprice Classic Brougham is stored in east-central IL, ~5 hours from me. 18. * Anyone else love looking at old newspaper classifieds…? Have a few more from 1970s Des Moines IA newspapers to feature in the coming weeks! http://www.oldcarsstronghearts.com/2015/04/27/memory-monday-15/ A favorite part (among many) of my Route 66 road trip, September 2009, was spotting murals & cars. This was a great combo … with a Baxter Springs MO mural & a 1987 El Camino appearing in the pic I took! http://www.oldcarsstronghearts.com/2015/04/28/tuesday-trip-15/ Speaking of road trips, a cousin & I are planning a day road trip this Saturday, 05/02/2015, down to Staunton IL (from Chicagoland); forecasted weather should be perfect…. 20. I actually remember seeing this. I also remember a discussion on a board (can't remember which ... maybe here?) a number of years ago of how much it looks(?) like the Oldsmobile Aurora.... Not sure I agree with "how much", but I can see some similar design elements. Seems to me the post started out asking of this was a Cadillac or Oldsmobile (grill emblem was "hidden") ... & the conversation went from there. 21. Ha ... cool. Had not noticed that. Looked up some pics, & whatdya know. Tho, to me, the Kia is a bit more subtle than the Kaiser ... or maybe it was just the angle of the pics I saw? Also saw a handful of vintage vehicles, too.......
