*shakes head* Nah, I'd say you already have a hobby ... cars ;). Keep the cool stuff coming, please!

*raises eyebrow* Only bad people drive 'em? Crap. ;) As for me ... well, I was fixated on Monte Carlos.... BUT, I loved looking at the gorgeous lines of all the cars ... especially when the cars I saw were cleaned. Dirty cars, I always wanted to wash them and thought their owners must be mean people who didn't care about anything. *shrugs* I was a kid. And, as a kid, I always remembered people by the car(s) they had/drove. If I didn't remember someone, all people had to do was tell me what they drove...and I instantly remembered. Still do that sometimes ;). I agree ... best mc since 1995, but aye. BTW, on another board, someone posted this news about the '06 mc: "Chevrolet officials were scrambling this week after the 2006 version of the Monte Carlo did not perform as expected in its first on-track test. Joe Gibbs Racing took the car to Atlanta Motor Speedway this week and everyone was surprised when it struggled during the test. So GM Racing director Pat Suhy spent much of his time at Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend, meeting with NASCAR officials to discuss what they should do. Suhy said GM will test the car again. NASCAR officials have not yet approved the car for competition. "I think everyone was a little overconfident and got a little complacent and didn't pay attention to the details when building this car," Suhy said." From: http://www.jayski.com/teams/chevy.htm Heh...interesting that the '06 mc is delayed because it isn't approved by NASCAR to race.... *shakes head*

Maybe I'm one of the only ones, but I enjoy cruises that include _driving_ ... not just sitting & walking around looking at parked cars. The Sunday I returned from my road trip to the Eastern states (August 21), I attended the Elgin National Road Race Show, which included a "lap" that followed the old Elgin National Road Race. With that in mind...& knowing that high gas prices will be a factor, is anyone interested in doing a "weekend cruise" of sorts...? We'd drive a scenic route. One is in Illinois [I can plan routes for WI & IN/MI if anyone is interested]...people can meet up with us anywhere along the way... * IL RT 20 W from the Chicagoland area to Galena IL. * Eat lunch in Galena * Cross over into Iowa at Dubuque * IA RT 52 S * Cross back over into IL at I-80 * IL RT 84 N back to IL RT 20 The invitation is open to a few message boards & others, so if we get enough interest, I'd be happy to make reservations for lunch in Galena. Also, we could "carpool" of sorts to save money on gas. And, if we have a good amount of interest, perhaps we could include some sort of fundraiser for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.... As for when, one of these weekends: September 24, October 1, October 15 or October 22. If you're interested, let me know.... If not, that's fine, too ... it's just an idea ... I just love to be on the road ;). *shakes head* All sorts of rumors ... and seemingly no concrete evidence either way. I won't believe anything until I see it... ;). *raises eyebrow* COOL! Heh...those portable radios look a bit more innovative than some things in cars today.... Lutz interview regarding Solstice, future halos
knightfan26917 replied to Northstar's topic in General Motors
*nods* I agree. Course, I'm also interested in why Phelan wrote that the Solstice will solidify Lutz's legendary status. Isn't he legendary already? *shrugs* Cort, "Mr Road Trip" / soon2be ex-"Mr MC", 31swm/pig valve/pacer MCfamily.models.HO.chdQB = http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort/ MC Guide = http://www.chevyasylum.com/mcspotter/main.html IL & area MCs = http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/imcog/ MC's future = http://www.projectmonte.com/petition/ "My depth perception must be off again" ... Perhaps. But, if that's the case, I think the silver accents will look a bit out of place with the tan interior.... *shrugs* But, that's just my tastes....

*chuckles* GM ads ... and then competitors, too. He he he...an online "war of ads" ;) Cort, "Mr Road Trip" / soon2be ex-"Mr MC", 31swm/pig valve/pacer MCfamily.models.HO.chdQB = http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort/ MC Guide = http://www.chevyasylum.com/mcspotter/main.html IL & area MCs = http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/imcog/ MC's future = http://www.projectmonte.com/petition/ "My depth perception must be off again" ... Hey Josh, What are those dates? Depending on when the C&G meet is scheduled, I may head up to Detroit for it...we'll see. *raises eyebrow curiously* Are you serious? What on earth could "NASCAR regulation related issues" have to do with releasing the '06 mc? Certainly it does not have to do with which wheels are driving the car...heh. An interesting development, nonetheless, if it IS true.... Looking forward to learning more about this...heh.

See, I _think_ (or, rather, I want to believe) that this is a situation where we just haven't seen pictures of the wood interior trim. I noticed on the malibu and the impalas I've seen as of late, the wood trim comes with the tan/neutral interior and the chromish trim comes with the grey/dark interiors. All of the pictures of the '06 monte carlo have been with the dark grey or black interior.... I haven't seen any with the lighter/neutral/tan interior yet. Thus, my _hunch_ is that the mc does get wood trim ... for the tan interiors.... At least, I hope I am guessing correctly....

Yeah, I always liked the Olds Alero, too. For whatever reason, though, I always liked the sedan version better than the coupe...not sure why.... Nope. Just as with the '95-'99s, I like the body style ... just not a Monte Carlo. Still needs RWD and, for the '06, the MC Knight Crest/Shield emblem. The '00-'05s at least had the emblem. The '95-'99s need that (emblem and RWD) plus the bodylines of some sort. *shakes head*

Bought a couple new Johnny Lightnings today

I wondered about that rear deck when I saw the pic last night, but I was tired and thought perhaps my perception was a bit off...he he he. Glad to know I was right, anyway :). I believe we have a HL in our area ... I'll have to try to track that place down this weekend...and pay them a bit of a visit ;). -
*sighs* I really want to write something good about this.... *shakes head in disbelief* I happened to catch more pictures of the greater New Orleans area...as well as other areas hit hard by Katrina. Very disturbing, to put it mildly. Thoughts/prayers continue for those affected the most by Katrina. Wow...NICE!!!! I have that '76 Olds, too. Very nicely done, imho. I would love to get that blue Olds T (I think that's what it is) and the '80s Olds....but, haven't seen either of 'em anywhere :(. Thanks for sharing! *shrugs* Then I'd venture to guess that those people that are tickin' other drivers off do not really know how to handle the RWD vehicles. I get along just fine with my RWD Monte Carlo and my sister does just fine with her RWD S-10. Period. NO snow tires, NO chains. *shakes head*

*grins* I know the feeling ... all too well ... 'cept, I may _have_ to be cured of it soon :(. Currently, though, I've 5 Monte Carlos ... yes, all running. Nah...cool :). Funny thing is, at the time, my parents had a '68 Impala SS. It wasn't until 1976 (when I was about 3) that the Monte Carlo entered the picture for our family.... And, GM1 ... the year of the Citation and the Phillies, eh? Interesting...very interesting.... If you could change something about GM's car's?
knightfan26917 replied to BlkHhr104's topic in The Lounge
*nods* Thank you for the compliment on my "baby girls". The links are for all of my cars, well, at least, for now.... I don't need a '06 mc. Would just be nice to have a new Monte Carlo with RWD and V8 option, along with the bodyline characteristics and knight crest/shield emblem...that's all :).
