SATURN AURA RADIATES STYLE, REFINEMENT
Intrepidation replied to Northstar's topic in New York International Auto Show (NYIAS)
This just goes to show how horrible the Malibu's and G6's interiors are compared to everything else (even the Sonata). It also shows how much better that Japanese cars with the integrated controls look. GM, Ford, and Chrysler need to make integrated systems. Oh yeah, you forgot one interior: Dodge Startus Ok, so the G6 and Maibu are better than that at least. -
SATURN AURA RADIATES STYLE, REFINEMENT

Don't forget the Epsilon platform is much more modern than the LaCrosse's W-platform. Hell, this thing looks more upscale than the Lucerne. -

Yeah I hated the old Camry's center stack,. -
For my Graphic Design cass we have to come up with a theme restaurant, so I figured a car themed one would rock. But I can't think of a good name for it yet? Any suggestions of a name? And what would it serve for food?

2007 PREVUE CONCEPT
Intrepidation replied to VenSeattle's topic in New York International Auto Show (NYIAS)
Most of the reviews so far have been pretty good actually, and plus the Caliber is a 4-door only moel and a size smaller...so I'm not sure I see the relevance of your comment. -
NYIAS: Pontiac G6 GXP Coupe Show Car
Intrepidation replied to a topic in New York International Auto Show (NYIAS)
The G6 sedan is lame to me, especially compared to the concept, the Coupe just looks odd... I've seen one up close in person, in black, and the proportions just don't look right. This car seems to just emphasize those faults instead of trying to fix them. That wing is rediculasly shaped too. -

SATURN REVEALS SKY REDLINE
Intrepidation replied to VenSeattle's topic in New York International Auto Show (NYIAS)
Ok...first of all...they are called wheels, rims are the outer part of the wheel. Also, why change them? those 5-spokers look damn sexy. Second of all...I F*CKING WANT THIS CAR!! As a diehard Chrysler Group fan, that's a big compliment. It looks so hot in that dark blue! Gimmie Giimie! Pure Sex on wheels. -
SATURN AURA RADIATES STYLE, REFINEMENT
Intrepidation replied to Northstar's topic in New York International Auto Show (NYIAS)
Again, please pick up a pair of glasses. That Olds is all rounded and stuff, in fact not a single shape is the same. If you need further proof try tacing the lines. Surprie Surprise, they don't match. I sware this site has an obsession with that Olds, I see it compared with everything from this to a Lincoln, if you try and compares the Charger to it next i will have to hurt someone. -
SATURN HAS AN ALL-NEW OUTLOOK
Intrepidation replied to Flybrian's topic in New York International Auto Show (NYIAS)
The Pilot looks bland and the MDX just looks stupid compared to the Outlook. No contest. -
SATURN AURA RADIATES STYLE, REFINEMENT

What I find funny is that you guys are bashing a car that, aside from the lower fascia, slightly smaller fender flares, different wheels, and different interior colors, is the same damn thing as the concept. The very thing you guys oggled over as a concept you seem to hate or call it bland. Get out a pair of glasses or a magnifying glass if you're visually impared, and take a closer look. Even that damn trim piece below the hood has the gap you guys were b1tching about when you thought it wasn't there on that teaser pic. Another thing: multi-spoke wheels aren't unique to the Sebring. And the design isn't even the same. I agree that the concept's wheels were nicer (they are called wheels not rims for the ignorant), but they look nice nonetheless. If there is a RedLine version, I'm sure it will be more agressive looking, probably close to the concept. So yeah, I personally like this car. It's far and away the best looking of any midsize we've seen so far. The interior is very nice, although I do agree with some people about there being a bit too much wood. Maybe it can be substituted for metal. I also agree that the fact the door trim doesn't line up with the dash wood is odd, and hopefully it will be addressed in the full production model. I also agree with the fact that GM (aswell as Ford and Chrysler) and need start using integrated systems in their center stacks, it looks much better. However, I think GM's unit is the most integrated looking and best looking of the bunch, better than Chrysler's and far better than Ford's. The Aura is much better than anything GM has got, looks better than most if not all of the competition, and looks very classy in the press release photo. Great choice of colors. It'll be a great car, and the looks combined with the 3.6 liter/6-speed (finally), it will be very competetive. At last GM has a midsize car that doesn't cause retenal damage when looked at (*cough* Malibu), or have odd looking proportions (G6). Plus, it is a hell of a lot closer to the concept than the G6 was. -
Can you see the family resemblance now? Also..the crappy Pilot's front end looks nothing like the Outlook, same with the 4Runner
-
Um...how can it look Japanese at the front end looks like an Opel...which is European?
-
I know, that interior looks good enough to be in a Cadillac!
-
Lol TCC has it on their Daily Addition, as well as pics of the Outlook http://www.thecarconnection.com/Auto_News/...173.A10269.html
-
Before you guys condemn it, check this pic out. it's from TCC Despite the slightly toned-down lower grill it looks awesome.
-
Ta-da! I dunno about you guys but that's gotta be the best damned looking SUV I've ever seen! And check out that interior! BTW these pics are from TCC, you can see a new pic of the Aura there too. http://www.thecarconnection.com/Auto_News/...173.A10269.html

Maybe putting the negatives last would have been better, but remember they like the CXS a lot, just not the CXL (and lower) without the Magnetic Ride Control it doesn't handle nearly as well. Plus they had several issues with the car, so of course they aren't gonna be uber-happy with it.

Edmunds: Long-Term Test: 2006 Mitsu Eclipse GT
Intrepidation replied to Variance's topic in Mitsubishi
It's a concept and no it's AWD -
I wish your quotes worked so telling the actual quote from your comments was a bit easier Anyway, They do say negative stuff about the car, which of course, this being a GM-based site, gets people irked. However not too many people seemed upset about Edmunds not giving the Yaris a good review. So let's keep in mind subjective/objective opinions that we ourselves have too. Quick note about the transmission shifts...no they don't need to be Corvette quick, but it's a damn 4-speed in a luxury car...I mean the Fit has a 5-speed in it, the Lucerne should have at least 5 gears. That would improve performance and fuel economy. The V8...once again no one is expecting SRT-8 performance...but at the same time the fact that it demands premium fuel is a major drawback, and again, with a 5 or 6 speed, it would probably go faster. The Charger an 300 are identical under the skin, but their setup is more modern and sufisticated as well as being RWD and better handling. If the Lucerne was based off, say, the STS, I doubt Edmunds would complain about it, since it's a far newer and superior platform (of course too expensive for Buick I bet). Aslo, one of teh editors happened to like the seat heaters and mentioned the cooling feature: You also have to keep in mind, that this review pertains to the CXL, and yes it's harsh, but before you keep flaming edmunds...read this article: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drive...rticleId=107882 and realize that it was a good review and they do like the car... in CXS form. And let's not forget that a power steering failure is hardly call for praise, and neither is a loose headliner. On an ending note, another editor summed it up in a nutshell, and was pretty fair in his opinion: You guys should try reading the Editor's Evaluations before jumping the gun. If I made typos, sorry, but it's late and time for sleep.

Edmunds: Long-Term Test: 2006 Mitsu Eclipse GT
Intrepidation replied to Variance's topic in Mitsubishi
lol that was low. But i still like the Eclipse...the Solstice is sexier though, I'll give you that. -
It's tough to tell from that spyshot, but from what I can see, the upscale/RedLine version will look closer to the Aura concept. You can see modlings on the rocker panels in the spyshot, not quite as big as the concept, but still there. Anyway "fixing" the production version to look like the concept, at least from the what we can see so far, is as easy as swapping the bumper, adding larger rocker panels, and larger wheels. So it's safe to assume that, if there is a RedLine, it will look like the concept. From what I can tell so far the Aura looks promising, I'm eager to see more photos of it as well as the new Altima and the Sebring/Avenger. My only question, is if the RedLine doesn't look like the concept, then why did the Aura get dumbed down? GM should learn from Chrysler about not dumbing down concepts. Again, this is hypothetical, and is only relevant if th RedLine doesn't look more like teh concept. BTW does anyone know if the Sebring and/or Avenger are debuting in New York?

Edmunds: Long-Term Test: 2006 Mitsu Eclipse GT
Intrepidation replied to Variance's topic in Mitsubishi
Well then you should pay more attention to thelines of the car, I can see them no problem...although yes it has a big butt, lol. BUt it looks alright, better than the Altima for instance (king of big car butts). I liked the G6 concept, the production model looks like what would happen if you asked Toyota to build a Pontiac...it looks too Japanese, and the coupe is a mess. -
You guys are flaming edmunds for the review, saying they are unfair and idiots and so on. Which, while I think their family sedan test was badly done, I think they are still good. They criticize the Lucerne on things that are deserving of it and compliment it on things that deserve such. Case in point: the handling. They say that the CXL handles lamely, like Buicks of yore, but they also say that the CXS with Magetic Ride Control handles a lot better. They complain about the loose headliner and the power steering failure...things that should not be an issue in a brand new car, especially a 35k one. They complimented the dash design, and didn't b1tch about the tach so much as simply point it out. Not having a tilt/teloscoping steering wheel or a Nav system in this segment is rediculous as well. The Ford Friggin' Focus has a tilt/telescoping steering wheel and you can get Nav systems on Civics. No excuses for a lack of those features. Besides, edmunds didn't exactly praise the new Yaris, so they don't just "bash domestics" as many of you seem to believe.
