  1. and a new name (I hope) I always liked the name Avenger
  2. Actually, I think it's suppsed to, I heard that would be the only engine available.
  3. I don't think they are pointless either, they just need to be more differenciated and focused on their missions. Do a Roadster, a modern/retro `Cuda, and 2-door Performance SUV (liek the PreVue) Plymouth would be great as a retro/niche brand I think
  4. Dodge engineers have begun testing their four-door spin-off of the next Chrysler Sebring. Whether it will be called Stratus or Avenger is a subject of speculation, but there is no doubt that it takes its design inspiration from the Dodge Charger. Although the resemblance to its Sebring platform-mate is clear, the Dodge gets a distinct front fascia, a unique C-pillar design and - judging from the camouflage on the rear fender and door - a Charger-style rear fender arch. The prototype's taillights are also finished almost identically to those on the Charger. When viewed in profile, the new Dodge has a more formal rear window slope compared to the Sebring, which features a fastback design. The result is a flatter, longer-looking trunk lid on the Dodge, which almost looks as if it has been lengthened a bit. It's more likely that it's an optical illusion and not a dimensional shift, but we can't be sure from this first sighting. Prototypes for the next Sebring have been regulars on the testing circuit for about the past eight months. It seems logical to assume that since this prototype for the Dodge version has just appeared, it's likely to reach showrooms at least six months after the new Sebring goes on sale. Link: http://www.thecarconnection.com/Enthusiast...178.A10327.html Look closely at the tail lights and you'll see they look just like the tail lights of the sneak peak we saw of the Avenger from the Geneva video clip! Sweet! I also like how it looks as though the Sebring and Avenger will look more differenciated than in the past.
  5. Oh... lol. Quite right you are
  6. Yeah, you could give one of those a try too. Visibility might be an issue, but it sits higher than either the PT or the HHR, it also has lots of thoughtful features.
  7. um...huh?
  8. I haven't heard much compaining about the PT, it seems to be pretty reliable. I know someone who's owned it and they've never had any real issues with it. Maybe you could rent a PT for a week and compare the experience?
  9. The thing is, the Vue and Ion are the only cars that seem to actually sell at Saturn. I've seen at max 10 L-series in my life. That's not very much. We all know they sell slow, same with teh Realy (which I've only seen one). The Astra or whatever the next gen Ion will be called will probably be more expensive, but not by too much (expect in higher trim lvls maybe). The Vue will probably go up some, but since it's already big for the compact class, it shouldn't ggrow much and the prices will probably rise by maybe 1k or so. could be wrong, but that's just my thinking. Besides, until those 2 vehicles are replaced, there's still cheap cars to go alongside the newer ones.
  10. I know the G5 is supposedly supposed to be a stopgap until GM can get Pontiac a better compact, but I still think not nearly enough was done to differenciate the car. Anyway, if the Cobalt sedan is gonna get a rear end to match the coupe it should look better. STill, you gotta admit they look similar.
  11. I guess there is always the Aveo/Cobalt/Malibu then
  12. I've always pronounced it ECHO-TECH I think it sounds better that way.
  13. Well, I'd assume the Astra will be prices around 15k at least as a base or mid-level model. Sure, you'll end up paying more for an Aura than an LS, but just look atthe quality design difference. At least the price raise is justifiable right?
  14. Oh? Read this then: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drive...rticleId=106626 It seems odd that the two road tests had different experiences, but the point is that it exists.
  15. Alright! Now I can buy a Cobalt coupe with a Cobalt Sedan's rear end and a Pontiac badge! Good to see badge engineering is alive and well.
  16. See it's not that I don't like teh tailights or the butt, I think it's very nicely done, and probably the best of any Buick in recent memory (The LaCrosse looks like it has the tailights off a G6). The car itself just seems too much like a VW...but then GM was going for more European styling when they designed this car.
  17. The back i plain and boring, the interior looks dated, but that front end rocks, love the headlight designs.
  18. Too bad the GXP torque steers like hell
  19. Musta missed that, so then my point remains valid I will concede...The Charger and Galant's butt look very similar. But how about this? (And don't say the 300 Touring)
  20. breakfast
  21. ...ok you got me. But in it's defence, let's look at it from another angle. Ok, now you're gonna coem back with "well the Lucerne doesn't look like the Sable from the rear or side. Ok, true, but now it resembles a Phaeton At least the Charger's side and front are unique
  22. scharmer beat ya to that word
  23. I'd buy a STratus before I bought a Malibu. Sure, it's outdated, and the interior sucks, but so does the Malibu's, and at least the Stratus is easy on the eyes. Plus you can get them cheap. There ya go: cheap, basic transportation that won't cause retenal damage
  24. plow
  25. From teh front their designs and overall shapes are quite similar, but everything else is different. The Sable is like an oval, the Lucerne has a bit more of a wedge stance. I like the Lucerene infinitely more, but you gotta admit, when they are both that color and at that angle there's a resemblance. Now some people say "Well all cars take ideas fromother cars" Show me a car that looks like the Charger (not counting th LX platform mates) or the Mustang, or if it were to be a production car, the 427 concept. Nothing looks like the Camaro concept either. It's possible to make truely unique design, GM just hasn't done much of it, or Ford.
