Saturn may not be as "premium" as Buick...but then why is it that Saturn will be getting all kinda of new platforms and technologies Buick has yet to get? Why buy a LaCrosse or Lucerne when you can get the AUra, which is on a much more modern platform, will have a refined and powerful V6, a 6-speed automatic, a Nav system, and LED illumination. Buick has noe of those things (besides the Nav system in the Lucerne, which I have yet to see as an option).

Don't forget the crap colored Mercs and Volvos

OMG hotness! -
Exactly.

Congrats on your car! The bigger wheels in your chop look nice, but the car sits a bit too low I think. A ride hight that's somewhere between the stock and what your chop is would be perfect

While I know you will hate this, and I can already picture your response, the Sonata fits the bill pretty well. You get a nice interior (I've sat in one, it's nice, don't tell me it's a PoS), you can get a decent V6, with a 5-speed automatic, and it looks pretty good. And on top of that, it's well priced.

Worst case sinario is your rear wheels collapse into the wheel well. Going 60, 70, 80 mph...how could anything bad possibly come from that? As for wiper motors. Yeah in a rainstorm it could be tricky if the wiper fail, but then...the instant you notice they are not working...PULL THE F*** OVER!!! But I would think most people would notice the wipers not working before that time, unless it's a sudden faliure, in which case, my advice comes into play . You're right about the fronts, especially in FWD cars, bu still, any issue with the suspension is a serious issue.

Yeah, not a single one of them has a decent name. Looking at the car again, I see a bit of Cobalt in the profile. Is it just me?

Refering to Ford I take it? No, what Ford did was smart: Outsource the 6-speed until their in-house was finished. This gave them a chance to be competetive whiule their own was under developement. Hence, why Ford dodged that crtics about automatics while GM still gets hammered for using 4-speeds (especially in the "premium" Lucerne.

The Solstice has done that, but unfortuneately, it's a low volume car. It's a hit for sure, but GM needs a hit in the high volume segments. The Aura looks good, though I dunno about hit worthy, especially with recent spyshots of the Avenger looksing so good (although the Aura probably is priced closer to teh Sebring.

I don't care for the new Camry's styling, but it's lightyears better than the fugly Malibu (inside and out). Especially in S trim where it get's lower body cladding and a blacked out grill instead of the damn fish gill grill. Even the old Cmry looked better, and that's saying a lot. Hell, a damn Scin xB looks better, and I hate those!

BEIJING — Hongqi (Red Flag) sedans have been around since 1958 in China; in fact, these luxury automobiles were among the first locally made passenger cars in the postwar era. Now a new generation is being prepared. Back in the 1950s and '60s, Hongqi sedans, the products of the First Automobile Works (FAW) in Changchun, were derived from Soviet representative limousines. Audi and Lincoln models from the 1980s have been redesigned to revitalize the Hongqi lineup, which is being used by party leaders, officials and municipal leaders all over the country. More recently, FAW has been working on replacements for its Hongqi models. Two prototypes were shown at the 2005 Shanghai Auto Show: an upper midsize sedan based on the Toyota Crown and the local version of the Rolls-Royce Phantom. The third model, apparently the luxury version of the Mazda 6, has been kept under cover until now. But late last week FAW held a preview ceremony for the car, still being referred to by its development code name of C301. The C301 is based on the Mazda 6 and will be equipped with its 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine. When it goes on sale in July, it will be priced starting at about $25,000. What this means to you: More new products for a product-hungry marketplace. Link: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/News/articleId=110181#2 Yep, another ugly chinese car.

The front end doesn't. Remember the vid clips from Geneva that featured an unknown Dodge front end and rea end? That's this thing. And it looks great. Can't wait to see the whole thing.

How is that good? What, it's ok for GM and the other domestics to get slammed everytime they have recalls but not Perfect Toyota? That's BS and you know it.
-
Don't forget Vauxhall. Well said btw
-
Has that actually been aired on TV? I like it a lot...its not nearly as cool as the "Dodge Rocked 2005" commercial, but it's very good nonetheless. It shows the soul of GM.

A good point, except I think Pontiac would need to compete against Dodge aswell since Dodge is by far more of a performanc brand than Pontiac is right now. About Saturn, I see your point but at the same time, look at how much better the Opel designs ae than the American Saturn designs.

Rear wheels are overrated
-
True, but that trend may be changing, as the Caliber seems to be selling very well.
-
wtf are the Honda designers thinking? Can't they tell by their own camo that the hard edge window design would look far better? Idiots.

Take a look at the Sky, Outlook, and even Aura. While interior wise the Camry trumps the Aura (only by the center stack), design wise the new Saturns are far better looking. You call that fat, bloated new Camry an improvement? Over the previous, yes, and with the S trim and blacked out grill it looks alright, not no better than the Aura, and when/if there's a Red Line version, it will look far better. The Yaris looks better than the Echo, but that wasn't feat to accomplish. It doesn't look better than the Accent or even the Rio (which I think looks better). The new Tundra has an ugly front end. The only new vehicle that looks good is the Tacoma. And as for SUVs, it's too early to tell about sales, but unless you're blind they are an obvious/monumental improvement over their predesessors, and far better than the Armada and Sequioa. Also, I didn't mention anything about how long the vehicles stay on dealers lots, so take that arguement up with the person who actually made it. And you still don't get that a lot of people buy Toyotas and Hondas because they think they are the most reliable (for example, a friend of mine swares imports are better made than domestics). But with recent recalls Toyota has been having people may start to finally notice that Toyota is just like every other car company, they're not impervious to recalls and defects. And once that key advantage is taken away, you're left with cars and trucks that stylistically lag behind many other makers. They hold an edge in interior design, but the competition is closing the gap there too. Of course, that same friend still thinks imports are superior despite the fact that he had to have his tranny replaced, and half the features on his other car (a PoS crap colored Volvo) don't work. But there's hope some people will open their eyes. By contrast, another friend of mine drives a Corolla, and he doesn't think it's any better than any other car. Things break on it, and he knows Toyota is just like any other car company: their cars aren't immortal, they do break just like every other car. Perhaps these resent recalls Toyota has had will open up more people's eyes so they learn what he and I already know.

Cool idea, but design-wise, it sucks. Looks like an amature designed it.
