A plumber, appliance repair man, and other small business aren't going to spend $800,000 dollars to rice out their van. What they care about is the most bang for their buck and which vans suits their needs best That may be an Express, a Transit, or a Sprinter. They're not looking at how many chicks they can pick up with it.

This naming scheme between Dodge and Ram over the same vehicle is stupid.

GM Teases Us With The New Chevrolet Colorado

They're high mounted like the Tundra's but it's not a design copy. Plus its far better than just massive slabs of grill and headlight like the current trucks or, even worse, the Super Duty from a couple years ago. -

My comparisons were for Crew cab models. This shows how overpriced the Dakota has become. -

Besides not being much of a looker, I think the this generation Dakota was hurt a lot by its pricing. -
I meant van not truck. My bad. If I owned a business requiring the use of vans, I would care more about what it can do for my business not how manly I look in it. Price, economy, features, cargo capacity, storage solutions, and which one would suite my needs best. If you buy a work van because you think it makes you look manly your priorities are backwards. If there's any image an Express or E-Series conjures up its one of a jackass. Let's face it, most businesses use those vans and most van drivers are second only to taxi cab drivers for being assholes on the road.

This thread is funny. People care about how their trucks look? Has anyone seen an Econoline or Express lately? Not only do they look poor, they drive worse. The Sprinter was no looker either, but at least it drove well. It was just expensive compared to the other dinosaurs and had a weak for the class diesel. Vans sell based on utility, not looks. Trucks, yeah people have pride in how they look, even business. Vans? No. Also, there's a market for small vans. I see lots of Transit Connects done up with company logos and, interestingly, much nicer company paintwork than big vans...probably used the money they saved to spend more than $6 on stencil lettering for the side of the van.

FWIW Ram Trademan - 5.7-liter V8 with 390 horsepower and 370 pound-feet of torque / five-speed automatic transmission. Starting at $22,780 But I agree there is room for good compact trucks. Problem is most aren't good and aren't cheap either, as they end up running into full size pricing. As they should.... but a standard cab 4x2 full size isn't going to be the same kind of truck that a crew cab 4x4 with leather, heated seats, roof etc mid-size is going to be for the same price. That's fine, but consider the Dakota: Ram 1500 msrp* starting at $20,810 Dakota msrp* starting at $23,110 Dakota Laramie Starting at $33,535 Dodge Ram Sport Starting at $32,355 but with intensives: $30,740 and if I'm reading the incentives correctly, a Laramie can be had for $36,880 -
Those aren't chops, they're 3D renders. It is beautiful. Although one could argue it should have two fewer headlights, I don't mind. The best thing is that its suppose to enter limited production.

Thanks guys! A great show of entries all around. Can't wait for the next contest! -
Transit Connect?
-
Yeah, I don't understand why they have yet to bring the Swift over. Its supposed to be a very good car.
-
I'll take a Transit if its gonna look like that.
-
although its like saying which STD is less crappy to have. To be fair the Kizashi is a pretty good car....but that's really it. The SX4 has AWD but its outclassed by most of its rivals. The Grand Vitara...do they even sell those anymore? Then there's that Frontier rebadge. Do they have anything else? But hey, congrats on the job, hope it works for you.

Well it is ugly, but land yachts don't handle like Sports cars. That's the one thing I'll give it.

Design Competition #5 -- Dodge Compact Sedan
Intrepidation replied to NOS2006's topic in Design Competitions
You know what? You were right, the arc was a bit small as well as the flare being way too small. Contest's over but I fixed it and a few other things I didn't have time for. -

That doesn't annoy me, the "unread notifications" does. I see you have 3 of them too. -

Intrepidation replied to NOS2006's topic in Design Competitions
it might be the flare throwing you off. I think it should be a bit bigger (front one is pretty big), but I ran out of time to work on it. The wheel/arch are correctly size though, it's just the angle. -
I want it soooooooooo bad.

Mitsubishi to cease Lancer Evolution production.

Kill off the on thing of any relevance at Mitsubishi, that had positive equity and respect. Brilliant.
