  1. That's what I was thinking! Like an Eclipse that overdosed on steroids. I do like it though.
  2. BV, just a word of advice. The biggest factor in a comp's overall performance is the RAM. I will tell you this: 128 to 156 isn't a big performance booster...I know this from experience. 128 to 512 and 512 to a gig is huge...and 128 to a gig is godly. Slap more ram into any comp and it'll make a huge difference. For gfx such as video games, flash animations, and videos, a good graphics card is essential. The processor is important, but for basic uses like surfing the net, and general application running, especially when multi-tasking, RAM is key. Ram is the amount a virtual memory the computer has to work with. The more Ram (and the higher performance) you have, the more you can do and the faster it can be done with (ie: less lag). It i also good to know what sort of RAM you are looking at. Most RAM today is DDR, which replaced the slower SD RAM, and DDR 2 is a step above them both. I dunno if you know this already or not, but it doesn't hurt to let ya know
  3. Seen it...but it's amuzing nontheless.
  4. They both still look better than the Ion.
  5. Still wouldn't buy a 360...I'll wait for the PS3 and Gran Turismo 5 thank you.
  6. I'm glad my Shadow's throttle isn't electronic (at least to my knowledge), and I'm glad the Prizm is a manual (even if it's only 1st, 2nd, and 5th)...and that I learned how to drive manual.
  7. I prefer newegg.com Great prices, great selection, and awesome shipping. What sorta processor/gfx card is your current computer running on? Mine ran on 512 megs for a while and XP ran just fine. Of course upgrading to gig makes a huge difference....but still. Not bad at all, far better than the crappy Dell. Exactly right Fly, it's very important to be educated about these sorta things, and not just ask expect someoen to find a better deal for you. It's great to be able to shop yourself and know what's good and what's not. I also agree that a desktop is still a better option. It's exactly what I did with this. It's my first non-hand-me-down computer, which me and a friend built on the cheap. However beacuse it's a desktop, and one that was built, upgrading it has been a snap, and not difficult or overly expensive either. It's a better choice than a laptop, but if he absolutely need it, at least the one RBB listed is way better than that POS Dell. -- BV what sort of games does your bro play on his comp?
  8. Today... 2007 CR-V...looks bloated from behind and fugly up front. 2007 Chrysler Aspen...dark red or whatever. It's just down the street...looks better in person than the pics, but doesn't hold a candle ro the new Escalade (saw a black one and a white EXT) And to top it off, a brand spankin' new sliver Jaguar XK coupe...man those things are drop-dead gorgious.
  9. Even for basic stuff BV 256 doesn't cut it, it will not make as a big a difference as you think. Get 512 at the least, THAT will make a difference. 40 is ok, but the Celeron is not. It might as well be a P3. Seriously, if you buy this thing, at least buy an extra 256 ram stick and shove it in. As it is now...it ani't worth 500.
  10. Perhaps it's constipated?
  11. Both? There's 3...so which 2?
  12. Nadda
  13. But not cheaper or superior to building a PC yourself. Plus, Intel blows...on a Macor a PC...AMD all the way baby.
  14. My PC is two yeas old and runs better than these G5's I'm on atm. Granted I ugraed the gfx card and went from 512 to a gig of ram...but when I first built it, it was on a tight budget. I still bet it costs less than any Mac. I'll give you that about Macs not having virus problems. However a good antivirus program and not going anywhere stupid online will ensure a PC is just fine. My other problem with Macs is that most games are not Mac suppported, so if you're a gamer like me, PC is a must. I do everything on my comp too...watch DVDs, Divx, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, some video editing, and so on. I will give Macs a nod for having better video editing software.
  15. funny
  16. Awesome signature. The "painting" I can't say the same for. Nothing personal, I'm just not into that sort of art style. It nothing more bunch of colored bars... Like I said, that sig is sweet though.
  17. Or a president, or the Pope if he felt like livin' it up.
  18. Gotta agree with you. Desktops are cheaper, easier to customize/build/upgrade. For the price you pay for a laptop you could get a far superior desktop for the same price. ( I didn't realize he wanted a laptop when I first read the thread). I may get a laptop cuz I need i for school, but I may sacrifice it for now and instead use the money to build an uber desktop.
  19. Yeah, I remember the first concept photos made the Caliber look odd at some angles, but after the real-world pics and them in person, i like teh design quite a bit...if only the interior were nicer...and it had a traditional automatic.
  20. She's a bit out of touch huh?
  21. I hated the Charger when I first saw it. However now it's one of my favorite designs.
  22. I kinda get an Acura vibe from the pic, but it's admitedly not much to go on. I'm looking forward to seeing it.
  23. Macs are overpriced, and overhyped. They're no faster than PC's and if anything I find them slower. Their interface is a pain in the ass to work through too. However, if you need a computer that doubles as a heater get a G5...it puts off assloads of heat. It makes a better heater than a computer!
