  1. But of course, according to Flint, GM "doesn't get it".
  2. Date posted: 01-18-2007 DETROIT — Call them love letters to the Chevrolet Volt. But General Motors apparently has been besieged by consumers who want to get their hands on a production version of the electric concept that was unveiled last week at the North American International Auto Show. Writing in GM's Fastlane blog, Beth Lowery, GM environment and energy vice president, said the Volt's fans have been flooding the automaker with lots of ideas. Among them are suggestions to build a high-performance version and to get it "into production within two years while keeping the price under $30K." Lowery says, "It's a little early to talk in detail about the specific applications beyond the Volt or about a specific time frame for its release, but we believe E-Flex is a very versatile technology that could be right for general applications." Lowery took on critics of the Detroit automaker, especially those who castigated the company for its dead EV1 program. "I can understand why people are skeptical," Lowery said. "All I can tell you is that we recognize the role that electricity will play in future cars — that's why we've worked so hard to bring you the Volt. "But we do not believe that electric cars are the only answer," she continued. "We believe there are a number of solutions to ending our dependence on oil, and we are working on many of them simultaneously, including hydrogen fuel cells, clean diesel, FlexFuel and hybrids. And we have designed the E-Flex system for the Volt so it can be coupled with motors using any of these fuel sources." What this means to you: GM hears you loud and clear and plans to make absolutely sure you won't be seeing any movies called Who Killed the Volt? http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/News/articleId=119260
  3. The redesigned NASCAR stock car is bigger, but is it better? http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Featu...photopanel..1.* Old One New One -- Now, I'm not a fan of NASCAR at all, but I found it interesting how many people do not like the COT. I hope NASCAR pays the price for shoveling out this ugly thing and looses so many fans it's screwed.
  4. For the win!
  5. They're both free and compete programs. They are very good at catching things before they do damage. Avast is just as good as any program you have to pay for. I've never used Spyware Killer, but Ad-Aware works very well for me. I install them both on all the PCs I have to clean out for people. (The record so far is 1,000 or so trojans and viruses). Yup, if your system has an input line, you'll be able to use that cord and plug it into your comp...instant uber sound.
  6. Dude, a faux wood case? Disgusting! Please tell me the reasoning behind it.
  7. Well there's yer problem I use Ad-Aware SE and Avast! Antivirus. I hate Norton with a passion.
  8. Nicer wheel Flabby ass.
  9. Damn that's a lot. Is Toyota trying to beat DCX for most recalls?
  10. They tested the XR but the second half of the review was focused on the XE...that's a bit confusing, especially since they already tested the XE. Pretty good review overall though.
  11. There's a rukle about riding in each other's cars? So Sixty8, can you stand a ride in a FWD Intrepid? NO way the Cuda's are coming out, all though if you ever came by and visited you could see them, and that really old car from the 10's-20's at the used car dealer by my house.
  12. This was laready posted, but in a less flattering thread. I don't get how Detroit doesn't "get it" either. Anyway, what kinda moron feels the need to degrade Detroit and at the same time right a pointless article telling the readers why we buy cars...I'm pretty sure we all know why we buy them, we don't need some hack telling us the obvious.
  13. Haha well most of the computer is thanks to student loans, I needed a better one because my old comp simply can't handle 3D modeling and rendering. I gotta pay it all back someday I least I have a job now though. My parents? Rich? :rotflmao: My mom still drives the Shadow! Yeah I did I love this printer. I've had it since I graduated from high school (it was a gift). I din't see any reason to upgrade it yet since it works so well
  14. Do you periodically clear it out with Adaware?
  15. Oh yeah...my printer: HP psc 2175 all-in-one Printer - Canner - Copier
  16. BV I thought your comp sucked, when did you get a new one? X-mas?
  17. A friend of mine got Guitar Hero 2. It was a good game with some cool songs (Deathclock), but it wasn't worth the 80 bucks.
  18. Oh yeah, my mouse is a Logitech Wireless Optical mouse..I'm not sure what model...it's nice but I want to save up for the Logitech MX Revolution.
  19. Go to the My Computer icon and right click on it and go to Properties. This will tell you the type of processor and the speed. It will also tell you what you have for RAM. You can see what sort of video card you have by going to the Display Properties (right click on the desktop and go to Properties or go to the Control Panel), and then go to Settings and under Display it will tell you what type of graphic card you have.
  20. Too bad I can't change my vote...after seeing better pictures and getting used to the car, I love it.
  21. Ford could take advantage of Toyota's supreme PR department. They can make any mess sound good! And they can sell bland cars like hotcakes...just what Ford needs!
  22. Since I've seen plenty of computer related issues as of late, I thought it might be fun to list what type of computer you've got and the specs! You can be as specific as you want! $&*@$#!!!

Vista has bugs in it that won't be fixed in time for launched, supposedly Windows Update will fix them so the consumer never knows. I've heard nothing good about Vista from people who've tried it. That's what system restore does. I'm guess the theme you were using you got or applied after teh restore point, so you'll have to redo that. Cache is easy to clear, and deleteing isn't so bad...just be careful what you delete. -- I built my PC (this is my 2nd build), and it the most awesome thing I've ever used. It blows the G5's at school away, and my old comp too. It's also super stable and it has never crashed on me. The only issues I've had was a plugin I got for Firefox made the browser crash, but I got rid of it so no worries.
  24. True enough, although BMW coupes tend to be more fun to drive.
