  1. Ouch. That's horrible. Looks like Chrysler beat Toyota this year for huge recalls. Shame on them. Hopefully GM doesn't have these kind of issues...especially since they've been making progress with people's perceptions of reliability.
  2. It's too bad you're being too bias against other companies to just buy a vehicle you like.
  3. Not always, but in most comparisons the Silverado has beat the Tundra for superior build quality (which is hilarious), interior design, and exterior design, as well as overall capability. Toyota has the same problems the Big 3 have with the midsize segment. They made crap for years, and only now are getting better yet they still have a ways to go. (T-100 anyone?)
  4. There's a point system now? Wow...I dunno what's more idiotic...the EMOs or the news story. Slow news day indeed! I love how that idiot girl is going on amount "emotions" that normal people don't have. Hey f@#k$h!, everyone feels sad fromt time to time, we just don't all go slitting ourselves and crying for attention!
  5. I don't know all the details about electric motors but I know they can put out insane amounts of torque. I believe there was an episode of Monster Garage where they converted an old mail truck into a high-powered electric dragster. The torch was so much it destroyed the drive chain.
  6. If you're commuting to work or school, and unless you're carpooling...I don't think it's an issue. Plus, that's why you own a car for hauling people around.
  7. Like this maybe....
  8. Or a motorcycle...you pay 3 grand or so for a cheap one and it gets like 75 mpg.
  9. Glad the `Vette shut that stupid, cocky, redneck bitch up!
  10. He has yet to post in the Volt production thread...I wonder why?
  11. That would be an interesting idea. I wonder if they were to update it...would/should it be kept all electric or be incorporated into a type of hybrid system? On a side note: I find it funny that GXT has yet to post a snide remark in this thread.
  12. The only thing I don't like about the exterior that much is the front end. I wonder if you can get it was the stock front end?
  13. But you see that did result in significant profits. It cast an image on Toyota as a green car company. When gas prices spiked, everyone wanted to go buy a car from the company that makes the Prius...cuz everything Toyota makes must be good on gas...right? The Prius itself may not generate much in the way of profits, but the image it casts and the positive news it gets generates huge amounts of profit. The Prius is an ugly, overrated and overpriced car...but at the same time it was brilliant for business.
  14. Well now...that's just wrong on so many levels.
  15. Who the hell approves this crap? So many low-quality shows taking up space on the networks these days.
  16. and Chrysler... I love how edmunds spins this...instead of a wise crack about how Toyota underestimated the Big 3 in this segment (again) they say this: Also, an interesting bit of news from pickuptruck.com.... Did you know Tundra sales are down from a year ago? Toyota Tundra 15,990 -21.8% YTD February 2007: 9,669 February 2006: 10,566
  17. 2 red Sebrings a couple CRVs a black `97 Silverado a black C6 Corvette a black, a red, and a gray Altima a silver, a white, and a black Compass a white Porsche Boxter (with the top down!) a silver Toyota MR2 Spyder a white Dodge Ram MegaCab with aftermarket wheels...my friend knows it as the "Paul Bunyan truck" and commented how it's like 3 times the size of his Corolla. a dark red Wrangler Unlimited hardtop...man I want one of those.
  18. The Firepower makes more sense as a halo car. Plus it gives the Viper plant more to do, and would help earn money back on the platform investment of the Viper. That, and it's sexy as hell.
  19. I respect Honda much more than Toyota. While I hate riced-out 90's Civics as much as the next guy, they know how to build good cars. Not only that, they're not arrogant f@#kers like Toyota is. They're proud of their racing heritage and don't try to lie to people and convince them that they are American. Plus, their motorcycles are awesome...and they last forever. I drove a clutchless manual motorcycle for my first motorcycle...it was a blast. I love that quote from the CEO.
  20. Very nice.
  21. I don't like peaches.
  22. To all the people on this board and anywhere else who thought the might new Tundra would "easily" achieve or surpass 200,000 units:
