I'm working on a research paper for Social Psychology. Basically we have to make a paper about a social phenomenon of sorts and make an experiment to prove for it or against it. We make an experiment up although we don't test it for real we make the conditions realistic. As well as expected outcomes. Naturally I chose America's bias against American cars (and to an extent, badge snobbery). Here's how it breaks down: There will be 2 groups of people selected that are of various age and genders, and own or believe that Japanese cars are superior to their American counterparts, although no little about cars themselves (such as distinguishing car types). Group A will be given a chance to sample 2 midsize cars, a Toyota Camry XLE V6 and a Saturn Aura XR. The cars will have all of their badges on. Group B will get the same type of vehicles but without any of the badging, so they will be unaware what type or brand each car represents. They will both be given the opportunity to test drive the cars in various conditions (highway, city, twisty roads) as well as their convenience features. At the end of the experiment the majority of Group A will choose the Camry as the car they think is better, but the majority of Group B will choose the Aura, then they will be told what the cars they drove were. So does this sound good? Here's the fun part. I need reliable references to back up the bias, the Aura as a good car, and most importantly references of experiments similar in nature to this (although not necessarily about cars. Help is much appreciated! Than you!

Or the LX cars

Sounds sweet, sh0ould be a hell of a beast.

True but remember they don't tend to sell too many big vehicles in Europe. Not sure how well it would sell.

They handled like $h! (except the TB SS and the 9-7x )and had $h! interiors (except the 9-7x). The Lambdas are far superior to them. If someone wants to go offroad they can go buy a Hummer. Because that's he whole problem with Saab...being a bunch of mildly worked over GM (and Subaru) products. Saab needs a few vehicles that are at least unique to the brand.

This is true but a lot of the classes I have have nothing to do with my major...they're just "required" You know, so the school can get more money. I find them pointless. Some of them are interesting, others are not and have horrible professors. This semester would consist of the latter.

What platform was the SSR based on?

I'm looking forward to the figures of the Phoenix family. Since the 3.5L can already make decent numbers the the new generation should have quite a bump in horsepower and torque, and hopefully smoothness. Hopefully this family will replaces engines like the 2.7L.

It's a test mule. It's nothing new for a company to throw the body of a current vehicle onto a new platform. It keeps the spy photographers from seeing the sheetmetal of the actual vehicle for a while. It's quite a given that it's on a new platform anyway since there's an IRS back there.

Man I'd hate to be in that school. Send them a letter back with a picture of the middle finger.

This is true, as Saturn's other big problem is the lack of dealers when compared with other brands. The closest Saturn to me is more than a half hour away, while there's a Dodge and a Ford dealership only a few minutes away in my town. They're other problem is what NorthStar mentioned: people just aren't used to paying that much for a Saturn. It may take another generation of vehicles for people to notice how good Saturn is. GM can't except sales to be set on fire right away. It just takes time. People will come around.

First time I remember there being school cancaletion due to rain. Sweet, now I have an extra day to study for the test I was supposed to have. The flood levels look as bad as they did last May. Maybe I'll get pictures for all to see later. But first, I sleep. It's a good day.

Just like how the government failed to respond to the Hurricanes...and more than a year later the effected areas still haven't recovered.

Why can't you?

I also have mixed feelings about this rant, although at least there are paragraphs this time around. There's many reason why I don't like Bush...like criticizing the domestic automakers that they aren't fuel efficient enough but having no problems with Toyota's new gas-sucking Tundra. How about wanting to raise "fuel efficiency" to be "less dependent on oil" while at the same time being in favor of drilling oil in an Alaskan wild life reservation. His failure to do anything about our horrible trade policies that give iimports an advantage over domestics. The list could go on but I'll leave it at that. I haven't listened to or read about Al Gore's global warming speeches, but global warming is indeed real, and there are facts to prove it. The causes are subject to debate, but there are plenty and they are real. Of course your friend is indeed a hypocrite driving a Prius (which is worse for the environment than a Hummer) while also owning a big SUV and a crappy van. A Cobalt is indeed far better for the environment, as well as reduced oil consumption than the Hybrids. So is driving a Prizm (40+ mpg baby). One other thing...if you're referring to the Pontiac Montana minivan..I don't care what they trade it for...it's a lousy vehicle anyway. Edit: I really hate how people who disagree with anything that Bush does wrong (which is a lot) are labeled as "liberals" I tell them to, and I quote:

Yeah but they came off a Sonata. I still can't believe what they did to the interior. So hideous...

That's old school right there.

Lookadat....lookatda sexy beast! Awwww yeeeaah.

Now that I look at they're surprisingly well integrated into the car...but why add the previous gen GS lights? Notice how it has a widebody kit but the wheels don't even go out that far...
-
I like it Farenheit.

Oh God my eyes! Makes you appreciate the Neon's normal interior...and exterior...that thing is disgusting!

I think we have some damage to pout roof as I saw some shingles on the ground...uh oh.

Man, there's some hardcore pwnage going on! BV and Pontiac got I will not miss the W-bodies...the only one I like is the previous gen Grand Prix...that's about it. The Impala look alright but I'd never choose it over the more modern cars out there (except a Camry). Let us hope that Zeta becomes the basis for the next Impala and Bush chokes on his stupid CAFE proposals.

I may have missed this in the posts dwightlooi, but if the the turbine pushes air out the back for propulsion how would it go in reverse? Or is it able to turn a drive shaft as opposed to just using thrust for power? Great posts by the way, they are very interesting to read!
