  1. I hate Harry Pothead...mainly because it became an over-hyped fad...I read the first book and thought it was alright, but that was before.
  2. Nice car...I personally don't like them because the ones I drove had squishy brake feel, lifeless steering, uncomfortable/cheap plastic steering wheel with plastic "stitching" that dug into my hand...and I found the accelerator too sensitive/not progressive enough. But that's just me...looks nice in black..hope she's good to you!
  3. Nah, since they're such smart buyers, they'd have opted for the pointless, more expensive, Lexus version. :AH-HA_wink:
  4. I like the Eagle better...there's one sitting at a Getty near my house.
  5. Cool bike...I spy with my little eye...a flaming $h! in the background!
  6. Yeah, you'd think this would be an open and shut case...it's not that difficult. The moron didn't slow down enough, slammed into my car which was stopped at the time while waiting for the rotary to clear, and broke the seat recliner in the process. I drove a Neon once, it's not bad but the Cobalt would be something new to me...I just don't know f they have one in stock and if it's in the same "class" Get this: Neon is an economy car but a $h!fire is an intermediate (one class up)....I'd rather have any Neon than a $h!fire or Crapalier. Yeah, me too...the neck pain is less today...so it's getting better. As for replacing it with a different one...I think if we had to replace it it would be with something different...for teh sake of something new...but then again I dunno...it's Jessica's choice since the car is here's...but I know she like T-top Camaros :AH-HA_wink: Heck, down the line I've already said I want a Camaro...so one way or another I think we'll end up with one! About why we want the Prizm back so much...I've basically said it already...but the car is worth more than the sum of it's parts. Lots of memories, for the most part dependable...always there when it was needed most...I just seems cruel to give up on it...especially if the unibody is fine. I'm not the kind of person who can just change cars as much as he changes socks...I get attached to them...they are special and not something I would want to part with...part of the reason why we still have the Shadow. (By the way, it's at 212k right now...I used it for work today). Some people may not get it, and I'm not surprised, but that's just how I feel and Jessica feels the same way (it is her first car). We'll see what happens.
  7. Thanks, that helps clear things up some. My other question is though...how do I get it out of there? If it's not settled will they still pay for the tow and the time that it spent at the yard? I can have AAA take it out of there...get this: this damn tow place has a AAA truck...if only the asshole cop would have just let me use my membership for the very company they made tow it...damn cops. I have liek squat for money...which is why getting the car out of there with them paying for it is such a big deal.
  8. How do I get estimates if the car is stuck in the tow yard? Will bringing photos like what I took into a body shop be any good? Or can I do it after they have looked at the car and say it's totaled, but tell them I want estimates first before settling?
  9. It's very cool...especially all of the interior customizability it has...I still like the Mini better, but it's nice to see the small car segment featuring cars with character.
  10. One of those hit the Shadow...and totaled it...the Regency I mean...Shadow had no major damage besides a dented fender.
  11. I passed by it while working (driving the Supah Shadow with no A/C for now)...made me so sad...They aren't keeping it, that's for sure. So I have a qestion to anyone know knows...can I argue with their verdict of it being totaled or not?
  12. Tell him if you take car of that 2.7L...you know like actually changing the oil...it'll last at least 187k miles on it. Or just get a 3.2L or 3.5L or any other of there V6's which don't suffer from the same issues.
  13. Grr... We just got back from Enterprise...apparently Liberty Mutual hasn't gotten a hold of their client yet, and they haven't determined liability...so basically I'd be taking a risk putting in the $200 deposit for a rental since they haven't determined liability...until they do, they won't set up payments to Enterprise. The Enterprise rep was very nice, as well as very honest...he suggested waiting until Monday and calling them to see if they've determined liability...so for now we're still one car short..also they'd only pay for an economy car...so I'd end up with a Neon or Cobalt or something. I know this: if they somehow don't find that idiot completely at fault, I will take them to court.
  14. That's my thinking. If nothing else I want the car back...they are NOT keeping it. Like I said, I want to see if it can be fixed, I don't care if it's an economy car, or even that it's a damn Toyota underneath...it's been a great car with a lot of good memories...I learned to drive stick in it.
  15. The CVT is junk, it sucks all the power from what is otherwise a reasonably powerful 4-banger. 1St gen Intrepids and other LH models suffered from a lot of quality problems, however the 2nd generation LH models including the Intrepid have much better quality. The 2.7L is the exception, like I said...a lot of problems seem to occur with it, although I can't testify to that. 3.2L or 3.5L models are great bets. The engines are very reliable. The 2nd gens have nice interiors (that shame most of what Chrysler is putting out right now), handle great, stop great, have good steering feel and drive like a smaller car. Look great too IMO. Aurora is also a fine car!
  16. No surprise, I've seen tons of Wrangler Unlimiteds and very few 2-doors. This is a no-brainer for Chrysler...the answer for the demand is obvious: You build a 4-door, more practical version of the purest Jeep there is, and on a new platform that makes it easier to live with everyday, and you have a hit.
  17. If you're open to any car that's not Asian, try a 2nd gen Intrepid/Concorde/LHS/300M. If you go with the 3.2L or 3.5L you get good power (250 horsepower out of the 3.5L) and good reliability. I would be cautious about the 2.7L models, because the 2.7L has been know to have issues...but then my `00 just hit 187K on the original motor and transmission and runs like she was brand new. They drive and and handle very well too. If you want a hatch, or better yet, want an Opel, wait for the Saturn Astra to come out. :AH-HA_wink: Cobalts are good, especially if you go with an SS model. Did you drive Patriot with a 2.4 and the 5-speed? I image that will be much more peppy than the CVT models. You could also consider the soon-to-be-released Caliber SRT-4 that will make 300 or so horsepower from it's 2.4L turbo. PT Cruiser GT is also a nice option, as is the HHR (especially the SS or Sport or whatever it's called now model) A first or second gen Oldsmobile Aurora is a very nice option too if you'd like to have a new, nicer Olds. As far as RWD...there's GTOs and F-bodies and the Mustang that will fit that bill. Ford's Fusion isn't bad either...you could also pick up a Focus hatch (later models, since the early ones had reliability issues). Dunno if any of that tickles your fancy, but just some suggestions...welcome to C&G!
  18. Thanks. Hey do you or anyone else know if I can refuse/argue with what they want to settle on (claiming it totaled, without it being looked at by a mechanic or body shop). I want the car taken to my mechanic, who has a body shop he can recommend me to, and is willing to go there with me...I want an estimate from them on what it will cost...can I aregue with the insurance company that I want this before settling on them calling it "totaled"?
  19. Avenger...as bad as most people may think it is...it's probably way better than the Malibu....but if I get the Malibu it's something new at least!
  20. Well today I finished up all of the paperwork and claims stuff...all that's left to do now is wait for the car to be looked at. They are NOT going to just call it totaled and give me a lousy check for like 400 bucks...I will fight that if I can. My mechanic told me to bring it down when I can finally get it out of the tow yard...he also knows a good body shop...so we'll see...it may sound stupid, but the car has a lot of memories...and to us if it's not folded in half, and is still plenty drivable...it's not totaled. As for me, I went to the doctor's office today to be looked at. My sore neck seem to just be a sprained muscle...but I was sent to get X-rays just to be sure...it's sore if I move it to the side a certain way while looking up. Meanwhile it appears I will end up with either a Malibu or an Avenger tomorrow courtesy of Enterprise...which the insurance will be paying for.
  21. Quoted for Truth.
  22. Unless of course, you had analog, then you'd be SOL.
  23. I think it break in half if it really did a jump.
