  1. Yes, bent inner tie rod on the Shadow. Probably bent from the force of the impact with a snow bank up in ME over the winter. I got to look at it for the first time, since my brother's home for the summer. New one's on order, gonna get an outer and an inner. Pretty gnarly hit. Force of the impact knocked the battery out of the box and took out the transmission lines, among other things.
  2. So this Spring I've been working to make our yard a nicer place. The back/side yard has been, since we moved her last year, a barren expanse of mostly dirt and some weeds. That's all changing, as there is now grass growing quite well there, after some tilling, seeding, and watering. Soon it'll be time fort eh first mow. We've been using my Uncle's mower for the rest of the yard, but I want my own. When I was younger I used to fix mowers and I kinda miss doing that. A search on Craigslist lands me a Brute 22" Self-Propelled mower. Owner said he bought it last year and used it until the engine died and the manufacturer wouldn't warranty it, so he decided to get rid of it. $35 later (talked him down from $45) and I've got a mower, a disassembled engine, and all kinds of attachments. He claimed it just died, but looking at the blade, it looks more like he hit something and probably bent the crankshaft. So it needs a motor, I may have a lead on just the ticket. If I get it going I just got a $325 mower for a fraction of the price. Didn't have a lot of time today, but I did at least get it cleaned up. Certainly cleaned up good! Now I just need an engine...
  3. I wonder if anyone at Subaru sees the irony in the Mediocrity commercials they were running last year?
  4. How about some unique platforms? Lincoln should get its own platform ro use for its models so they aren't just reskinned Fords.
  5. Does anyone happen to know the location of the blower motor resistor on a 2002 Impala?
  6. A budget is a good idea, but at the same time its as easy as asking the yard what they want for the part and letting the buyer know. If the buyer is ok with the price, then get the part, take photos of it, and then have the buyer send payment to the seller before shipping out said item.
  7. The Genesis coupe gets some important stuff very right, namely being nimble, agile, and overall an engaging car to drive. Which is what really matters. Still I hope they new front end looks better, it's my only real complaint about the car.
  8. I'm currently looking for: 2000-2001 (2000 preferred) Intrepid R/T ECM without the Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM). Ways to telll it's not a SKIM-equipped car is if it has a black key (SKIM-equipped cars have gray keys), cloth seats/limited options, and no automatic headlight switch or sensor. If I can find the location of the actual SKIM module I'll post it. ECM is located in the engine bay in front of the driver's side strut tower, under the Power Distribution Center. Really interested in this. Lower priority but still interested in: 1993-1997 Geo Prizm driver's side premium cloth seat. It's a two-tone seat, with dark gray-ish blue bolsters and light gray-ish blue inserts. 1993-1997 Geo Prizm Cruze control cable (located in the engine bay, will need a photo to confirm if factory installed is the same as dealer installed cables) 1993-1997 Geo Prizm remote trunk release assembly + cable. 1992-1995 Mercury Grand Marquis passenger side headlight. 1992-1995 Mercury Grand Marquis dual sun visor retaining clips (tan).
  9. Great idea, this. Post what parts you're looking for so fellow members can keep an eye out at their local yards. If possible, it'd be helpful to be specific of what you need, where it's located, what year range (if applicable), and anything else you can think of to help your fellow scavenger.
  10. Thanks! It's something I really want, if I can just find one.
  11. Depends on the yard, but around $50 seems to be the going rate. It's a gray box located on the driver's side in front of the strut tower right under the Power Distribution Center.
  12. Well if you can even find an R/T, if needs to be 2000 or 2001 (2000 preferred), and not have the Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM). If it has keys with it, gray keys mean it has SKIM, black keys mean it doesn't. It'd also probably have cloth seats and not have automatic headlights. It's pretty uncommon, but I figure it can't hurt to keep an eye out. Might get lucky.
  13. I'm on the hunt for a very specific ECM.
  14. if he's going Saturday i just might, for the moment i actually have a weekend day off.
  15. Good stuff, as an aide, I love those wheels.
  16. It's my neighbor's race car. I was on my way over to ask him about taking a stripped lug nut off the Shadow, noticed his car outside and saw the ominous clouds, thunder, and lightning, thinking "I should tell him a storm is coming". Once I walk in he says "just the man I wanted to see" and asked if he could put it in my garage since both his shop bays were full of disassembled cars. How could I say no? The car itself he bought, sans engine, transmission, rear end, and other bits. I guess it's got a history and has won some races. He put a 350 in it and rebuilt and painted the car (was primer gray) and races it weekends. If I ever get a weekend day off he said I should got o the races with him. Would be pretty awesome.
  17. Keep an eye out for any 2000 Intrepid R/Ts. Seriously.
  18. Fixed. This thread is too funny.
  19. Mine? Oh not much... ...just a race car...
  20. So a man comes into a bar. No wait. So a man comes into a bar. No that's not it. So a man comes into a horse.
