Besides the Firepower, this is by far my favorite concept: Beautiful car. It has such good lines...everything looks like it belongs and is harmonized, not slapped together like the Sebring for example. What I have always liked about Chrysler's concepts is that many of them look production feasible...look at the 300 Hemi C...the interior borrows bits from the then current LH interiors. It doesn't look pie-in-the-sky. The Firepower still has my favorite interior design though.

A tough call...I'm a pretty avid gamer but lack the funds to really spend on a new game system...however I'm not sure which I'd buy first. I've pretty much ruled the Wii out...the interactivity of the system is cool and unique but the graphics are unimpressive and none of the games really appeal to me. The 360 has some games I like...but not that many so far. There is of course, Halo3, but beyond that I can't think of any gotta-have games. The PS3 is expensive, but considering what you get it's a bit pf a bargain. Blue-Ray of course. PS3 also has the highest resoluion of all of the consoles, so it can make the most of the HD experience. Currently there aren't many gotta-have games...but there will be. Metal Gear Solid 4, Gran Turismo 5, GTA, Final Fantasy, the rumored ZOE3...those are gotta-have games.

Apparently, I needn't have worried about traffic...
Intrepidation replied to knightfan26917's topic in The Lounge
There's no need to let it go knightfan, after all she was at fault, she (or her insurance company) should pay for the repairs. Don't let her get away with it...fight for 2.5 months if you have to! -
I wonder if Chris knows anything about this? If they tune it similar to the Lancer they should be good, all hey need is a real automatic...preferably with 5 or more gears at least in the top trim level...and yes, style ir right.

I always had a bit of an issue with the 300M's front end...but overall liked the exterior. Don't forget the Intrepid was available with the 3.2 or 3.5 engines, the 3.5 being the same one the 300M uses

I think the vanger's name is good, I think it's roofline could use some tweaking, but I like it overall still. I wasn't aware there was going to be a sedan replacement for the Neon...where's information on it? I'd love to read it.

Malibu will 'take over' the digital world on Oct. 17th
Intrepidation replied to Flybrian's topic in Chevrolet
So instead of admitting I made a point you'd rather make pointless references to BMW. Being a poser and wanting an option available on most other cars are two different things. Oh and guess what? All of today's midsize cars come with a full compliment of airbags, comfort and some form of value. What makes the Malibu any different? -
Well...the Viper is faster than an F-16 for the first second or so
-
3.5 + AutoStick + 300M interior perhaps? I still prefer the 300M but like the Intrepid best overall. The FirePower shouldn't be more affordable, it should simply be different. Softer, like a GT, with a far more plush interior like the concept features (in fact, just make the chrome brushed metal and call it a day).

Choppin' Competition #45 - Saturn ASTRA
Intrepidation replied to Flybrian's topic in Choppin' Competitions
And on that note, the original chop is far superior. -
I like it a lot...it's a great looking vehicle that has all of the personality of Citroën without the odd looks.

Malibu will 'take over' the digital world on Oct. 17th
Intrepidation replied to Flybrian's topic in Chevrolet
Since that was obviously directed at me, the car is 7 years old, thank you. I wouldn't jump into the Malibu from a 7 year old Intrepid because I don't see any reason compelling enough to want to. It's certainly not better looking in my eyes, it's still FWD, and it's interior certainly doesn't look any better than my own, and it certainly doesn't have any "techno goodies" I would want besides an MP3 jack...which I can get in a Cobalt...or any other modern car. If I were in the market for a new car, which is a big investment anyway, I would rather spend the extra to get a top of the line model than spend what is already a lot of money on a base model. If saving money was my priority, I'd buy a gently used fully loaded vehicle. Your argument is silly in that you are willing to dismiss the customers who want such things as a Nav system but can't get it in the Malibu, and then claim that it doesn't matter it's only 10% or so....but in this day and age GM is trying to get all of the sales it can get. So loosing out on that 10% because they are too stubborn to equip the vehicle with such options is a stupid move, and defending that move is equally, if not more stupid. You're a sales guy, you should know every sale counts. -
Yeah, in the article it mentions that union leaders seemed to have forgotten the statement that new models would be created and instead focused only on the fact that models were being cut.

i remember that the tailgate TSB made headlines...but nothing about the Tundra's issues seems to...despite being far more serious. big surprise. There are some things I fail to understand why are replaced. I like coil springs to hold up hoods. Unlike struts, they never seem to wear out.

I read that, but the company makes good points. While it's going to cut 2 or 3 models, it plans to add new models to segments that it doesn't compete in and really needs to. (true compact CUV, possibly larger CUV, subcompact).
-
I have no idea what was being smoked when they brought that thing into the world...the BOF SUV segment was already shrinking at the time. Like I've said, put the Aspen's interior in the Durango, along with the brightwork, and drop the Apsen. Why do people keep suggesting the Dakota? It overlaps with nothing because it is the only midsize truck Chrysler has and is a pretty good one. In addition, it, like the Caravan, is the founder of the segment it competes in. It's shortcomings are the exterior (which i think looks pretty good since the MCE) and the interior. It has a very good V8 powertrain now and best-in-class towing capabilities. It just needs to be marketed better....like "Full size capability without the full size fuel economy/road manners/maneuverability/price"

There is a major problem with your statement...you see my friend you are assuming these things will make it to 200,000 miles!

Malibu will 'take over' the digital world on Oct. 17th
Intrepidation replied to Flybrian's topic in Chevrolet
I like the "We're tired of being a foreign car in our own country" tagline much better. The TV ads are retarded...they are poorly thought out IMO. Not having a true NAV system is a serious omission IMO. I've used turn-by-turn and while it's usually fine, there are times when it helps to see where you are and where the streets are in relation to your position. Some people have an easier time with visual aids as well. Where the Malibu really lacks is on the techno goodies. No bluetooth, no true Nav, no file storage system. Chrysler's MyGig is awesome, and would be a serious determining factor if I were shopping in this segment, as I would be looking at top-tier models anyway. Chrysler also has available AWD...I think that's an excellent feature that much of the midsize segment lacks. Living in the snow belt, it's very handy. As others have pointed out, it's also about perception...knowing you can get a Nav system in a Mazda3 but not in a more expensive, larger Malibu is not helping perception. I still like the car alot, but GM's refusal to have a proper Nav system as an option has long irritated me. -
That's a sucky day, sorry to hear it. When did you get a job and where do you work?
-
So maybe I wasn't crazy when I though I saw that Tundra's tailgate looking warped that night! I wonder how many of these $h!boxes will last 10 years?
-
I actually don't care for the LHS or the Concorde...I never liked their sloping rear ends. I liked the more upright rear ends of the 300M and Intrepid. LHS/300M have my favorite interiors in a modern Chrysler.
