  1. You know what can spontaneously combusted immediately after a severe accident and not 3 weeks later? Gasoline. That's it, time to recall every gasoline or diesel powered vehicle ever sold.
  2. It funny, the Enclave has aged really well. Still looks plenty modern, the only real giveaway is the softer front end styling versus the LaCrosse, and the old style center stack. Should be interesting to see what the new one looks like.
  3. I'm glad he's gone. He nearly ran Home Depot into the ground and was worse than useless in charge of Chrysler. Sergio Marchionne is the best thing to happen to Chrysler in years, and it shows.
  4. It's next on the list, but unless I autocross it like some people, I'm not worried about handling issues. The key is that both left and right sides of one end are replaced at once.
  5. Yep, it was featured in Top Gear's Season 13 episode 1 race.
  6. Full width tail lights FTW, maybe looks like the sketch I did for the design competition. Dual exhaust too. Really liking the front end design, can't wait to see it.
  7. Both are about the same, which is to say decontented and simplified versions of Factory Service Manuals. Both are alright, but neither are as good as the FSM.
  8. Well it has been a while. To kick things off I'll update things here a bit. In October the old front struts came out and shiny new Monroe Quick Struts went it. I had soem reservations about using these because there seems to be issues with aftermarket front strut mounts for these cars. However Monroe seems to be pretty good at honoring their warranties, and at $140 a piece on Amazon, the price was right. Here are the old ones: All things considered the driver's side isn't too terrible. The passenger side on the other hand... Small wonder it didn't collapse. And the one of the news ones: Much better. Rides much better now too. I also finally got a hold of a 2000 R/T PCM and put that in. I haven't been able to take it on any meaningful highway trips to really test it, but the highway miles I have racked up show promise. The new front struts really bring attention to the rears, so on the list will be new rear struts, new sway bar links and bushings front and rear, and that should take care of the suspension I want to do. As of 11/25/11: So what's everyone else been up to?
  9. Come Xmas I'll be upgrading to G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
  10. I'm one of the guys who recommended he came here. Oh, and hey guys.
  11. The cream has passed its expiry date and I haven't been bothered to get more get more despite the fact the substituting milk in coffee is just crazy talk.
  12. I absolutely love this thing. Drop dead gorgeous. It looks distinctly British and distinctly a Jaguar while not looking like its stuck in the past. Best of all it will be priced below the XK, so it's something an average person might actually be bale to afford. Love the wheels too.
  13. If you plan to get scrap it let me know, I know a guy who is interested in it.
  14. And that's all for now. Until next we meet.
  15. I got a mower given to me by a coworker, a Weed-Eater with a Briggs 450 Series on it. Doesn't run. It's filthy, carburetor is dirty, fuel is old, and the diaphragm is dry-rotted. Once I get some diaphragms in I should be able to get it going. Here's a Yard Man with its massive OHV engine. One of two free mowers that were given to me a few days prior. I've managed to locate the rest of the air box and I think a Briggs magneto will fit it, but there's still the issue of parts, namely the recoil. I'm sure I'll find stuff eventually. I've never played with an OHV lawn mower engine. It's truly massive. I hope I can get it running. And this is the other mower, a MTD 11A-414F352. It's identical to the Weed Eater save for the steel bag door vs the Weed Eater's plastic one, and it has a more spiffy engine cover. Same problems too, except the the diaphragm was still good, so I didn't need to order any parts. It sucks when previous owners try to take it apart and don't keep track of the parts. This one wasn't as bad, but all of the bolts were just left on the deck with all of the dirt and leaves. So I cleaned out the tank and carburetor, and replaced the governor spring. Runs like a champ now. Fixed the messed up wheel height adjuster on the front left side, and straightened the two front wheels. Took some of my $0.95 Meguiars rubbing compound to its beat up paint. Good stuff.
  16. Meanwhile, I finally finished restoring the small MTD and sold it to a friend. Engine being cleaned and tuned up. And the finished product. It is essentially a brand new mower.
  17. Right, well its been a bit so some quick filler: I sold the Craftsman and got the mower that was given to me when the buyer picked up the Yard Man. He had tipped the whole thing upside down and got oil all over the engine, so I swapped it out for a Tecumseh engine from that rotted out mower and it was good to go. I actually like the way this one look, really low and slender. Come to find out that the Craftsman had been left behind by the scrap guy...for me to fix...but the note blew away or something. I felt really bad about it, but we had a good laugh (so did my neighbor) and I gave him this one. He was happy and supposedly will give me 3 mowers he has. There's the one, which was given to me, but won't run for anything yet. It's the same deck as that green one I still have (use it as a test bed). Hopefully withe some new parts I'll get it to run. Then a quick repaint of the top of the deck.
  18. If you were happy with the Fiesta getting another one wouldn't be a bad idea.
  19. Sorry to hear about your accident. It was a nice car but at least it protected you and you escaped serious injury.
  20. Dsuupr, I was out of line and I apologize. Enjoy the car.

  22. It is the the 3M product, which is like a very good protective coating that will save the paint. Friend of mine has ScotchGuard on his 2010 Camaro since new, and I've got it on my headlights. Its good stuff.
