  1. Hmm....$500+ tool to fly a sub $200 plane...nah I'll take my chances. On that note, I just discovered the prop shaft is bent.
  2. Why not just...you know...return it? Or sell it on eBay or something if you can't return it.
  3. A few photos of the electrical system...because I was bored.
  4. Except that it's smaller than the Equinox... That would be the Box the CompASS came in. In that case I prefer the box. In GM's case I prefer what came in the box.
  5. That is certainly possible, and yes buying used is a gamble. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. As I recall one repair was for a computer malfunction that cost $400 to fix plus tow (the car wouldn't start), one was for a wiper motor, and one was another electronic issue of some kind.
  6. I'm going to nominate this for thread of the year.
  7. In my book a low miles car that is only four years old shouldn't have "demons" unless it sat for four years. Before the Cobalt lovers ensue a flame war, I'm applying this thought to any car, not bashing the Cobalt, so :chill: in advance. Friend of mine's sister bough a average mileage Civic that was at the time 5 years old, and ended up at the shop 3 times in the first six months of ownership for expensive repairs. No excuse for that.
  8. Yeah mine is electric...has is a hassle and expensive. I want a helicopters, but I can't even fly them in the r/c sims so I'm pretty sure I would destroy it on the first flight if I tried it today. Helicopters are great though because they don't need huge open areas like planes do. If I've got a large enough field or park with not too many obstructions (only found two in the area so far), then it's much easier to fly. A parking lot at night? Not so much.
  9. :rotflmao: Pure genius!
  10. Off topic a bit: I will say that I don't care for Continentals...I have a couple on the front of my car and they are a lot more noisy than the Eagles I had.
  11. It hurt's my pride. Now where's that tiny violin for you to play for me? Nope, VFR...those LED lights do make a difference, and make it possible to actually fly at night, but per the landing, I get a little nervous trying to lower the altitude and circle around to land when obstructs like trees and poles are nearby. That incident didn't do any actual damage though...just pushed the gear back in. The 2nd one was just a case of not enough power, speed, and altitude to fight the wind. Oh well, I used it as a great excuse to install the new firewall, the original was already cracked, plus I took the time to take the tail apart and straighten it. Hopefully it'll be more responsive now that everything is lined up properly.
  12. You ever flown a small plane at night?
  13. Everything I've said is 100% true, it's just that when I said "small plane" I really meant small plane. Was taking off and a gust of wind blew the Cub right into the side of the car...didn't have enough power or room to pull up...car's fine but it broke the firewall of the plane and dislodged the motor...the gearbox didn't break this time so that's nice. Here's the damage: Damaged firewall next to the new one I bought "just in case". This was actually the second time tonight the Cub hit the car...earlier in the evening I was in the process of landing, misjudged the plane's direction and it banged into the deck of the car, too the landing gear clean off. The moral? Super Cubs don't like Prizms. I just figured I'd have fun with the experiences
  14. Sort of but the landing gear was different.
  15. A small single engined plane hit it, flew into the side of the car.
  16. We have an airport about 2 miles from our house. Lawrence Municipal Airport.
  17. Whoa whoa, don't bring me into this.
  18. Yep, another accident, this time involving a plane. The force of the impact was strong enough to push the motor back and crack the firewall in several places.
  19. So the Impala needs a more floaty ride? Anyway, if you're concerned about winter traction, and you're willing to spend the money anyway, get a set for winter and a set for the rest of the year.
  20. Truly, the greatest among us.
  21. Those are features you discovered or knew about already? I'm guessing the latter.
