  1. -- It's worth noting that, for those who require an actual conveyor belt, but like the rest of the world don't have the money, time, or care to do a full size 100% ZOMG conveyor belt, they did test it on a scale model (before they did the full scale test) with an "actual" conveyor belt and the results were the same.
  2. Well it does improve the handling because there is less sidewall to be squished. However if the wheels get too big it can effect the ride and even the braking if the car wasn't designed to use whatever size is on it. Cars like the Camaro, CTS-V, and Challenger all ride on big wheels, but the wheels look right sized on them, and because they were designed to wear them, ride quality doesn't suffer much, if at all compared to the smaller wheels.
  3. I want to do this with the Super Cub for fun.
  4. We have some old vices...they're sweet. Found another grenade today too.
  5. Clearly, the Messerschmitt
  6. Yes of course silly me, you know everything there is to know and I must not know anything.
  7. Youtube is your friend. The thrust produced by, in this case, the propeller, drives the plane forward and not the wheels. This allows the plane to continue to move and therefore build lift.
  8. Randomness eh? We should do what we did to BV's random thread.
  9. I like to keep my tools clean if at all possible.
  10. On car's like the Challenger and Camaro the 18's look too small. I suppose if you're stuck in the past and like tiny wheels and giant sidewalls I can see why you might piss and moan about larger wheels. I prefer wheels that are large enough to look proportionate. I haven't seen any wheels over 20" the look good on any car. Some cars the sweet spot is 18-19, some it's smaller since they start off with small wheels.
  11. Well this is the first time I have ever heard of this myth, and the planes they tested were propeller driver. The same principle applies to turbofan, turbojet, turboprop, and so on engines if you want to be technical.
  12. This isn't the random thread dammit.
  13. [insert PINGAS Approved stamp here]
  14. Totally.
  15. I want whatever camera you have have Chris.
  16. That sucks. Oh well, 250k is nothing compared to the car I'm talking about. Guy lives in S/E MA of all places and have a half-million mile + 300M
  17. I know, and it begins with a "G"
  18. Yeah...someone edited that.
  19. I have a mix of tool brands too. I like Craftsman tools if they say Made in America. It defeats the point IMO if they are made in China, which more and more are sadly. I have set of Husky pliers and cutters that I've been happy with. My favorite toolbox is by Black & Decker (and happens to be Made in USA). I have a ratchet that I've been very happy with and a cordless drill by B&D too. The ratchet set I use most is a 45 piece "Performance Tool" set I got from Pep Boys...great set. I've been happy with Stanley's products. Durabuilt makes some good stuff (screwdrivers), but their ratchets aren't that great. For hand screwdrivers, I have a mix of some craftsman and some cheap ones, but my favorite ones are my Wiha screwdrivers. They are far and away the best screwdrivers I've ever used. German Engineering at its finest.
