I admit, I actually laughed at that.

That's awesome, good for your friend, put that little $h! and is $h!ty car in their places.

I'm with aaaantoine, I don't really like wheel skirts. It's not a styling element I want to see make a return. Different strokes for different folks.

Needs better wheels but otherwise cool.

Really expensive cars you'd like to own

So much for new cars but whatever, we're talking expensive cars though. I'll throw in the DBS the Viper ACR and the Corvette ZR-1 Although I would want mine in red. -
Got a couple of goodies today...a set of Dodge center caps which look fantastic on the car, and an ATC head unit...the first piece of many for my big project for next year. I have a bit of an issue where under hard acceleration at highway speed the check engine light will come on and it will throw P0302, P0304, and P0306...misfire on one side of the engine. Cleared the code and it went away. I'm not quite sure of the cause. Coils rarely go bad on these things and I would think one coil wouldn't cause the whole cylinder bank to misfire. I'm thinking maybe a wiring issue on the coil circuit and/or from the coils to the PCM or ground wires. I do know that the #2 coil wire was exposed...somehow the insulation came off. It was electrical taped but maybe that's not enough.(?) For $h!s and grins I swapped out the #2 and #4 coils...if it happens again I can probably rule the actual coils out. Gonna have my mechanic check the wires and grounds to see if there's any issues with them. On that note, I've got a set of NGK Double Platinum spark plugs on order. I'm not sure when the ones in there were replaced, but they may very well be original, so it couldn't hurt. These things are hard to find and kinda pricey at $7 a pop, but they're the best spark plugs for these cars so its going to get the best. Too bad that Advance Auto coupon expired. Other than that, no other issues. Took it to Maine twice now, halfway across MA, and errands and such. Just need to find out what's causing the misfire. And finally, I have another project planned for it in the coming months...

I actually plan to put some FI cleaner in the car soon, so I'll let you know if it makes a difference at all.

This.

Saw something I wasn't expecting to see for another year or so, a Squeeze green Ford Fiesta on the other side of the highway in the middle heavy taffic. Amazing how it stands out from the crowd.

I will say, that GMTruckGuy took a photo of a red couple a few months ago that from that one angle actually looked quite nice. It's just that, styling wise it falls apart for me from the other angles. Anyway Reg, sorry to spoil the mood of your thread, my last post here.

Says the man who bought a Cobalt instead a G5 from his most beloved brand. I'm well aware most of Chrysler's current lineup is about as desirable as SUVs were when gas was $4.00. Thing is, unlike you and several others, I don't pretend that models like the Sebring have redeeming values. I can dislike the car if I want. Just like you can make excuses for why it was such a great car because it had a red arrow badge. If it was any other car you wouldn't think it was so hot. You kool-aid drinkers don't seem to get that I don't base how a car is by brand. It could have been a Chevy, a Ford, a Toyota, a Chrysler, a Hyundai and I still would not like it.
-
Anyway, Reg, if you like the looks of the car good for you. How I feel about the looks is just my opinion. However, keep in mind that factually its just nowhere near as good as the other midsize cars it competes/competed with. You'd be much better off with say, a Fusion.

Good so fa thanks. We spent last week training, getting to know people and how the process works and learning their special program. Tuesday things get cranking, so it should be fun. Oh, and I love my commute, I go the opposite direction as rush hour traffic.
-
Oh please, you act as though I've suddenly turned on the G6 or something. It's always been a sub par car and nothing will change that. As for styling , I've never liked it, I've always thought it was ugly, this is not some amazing new opinion I'm throwing out there. They're not fresher, they're better. More refined, less quality issues, better powertrains, better interiors, better NVH. The G8 is an amazing car, that is a car worth missing. The Solstice is flawed but still a looker and still worth missing. I'm not sucking down enough kool-aid to mourn the loss of the "magnificent" G6. So what's next to lament? The G5?
-
That tweaked front end was basically all they did for the MCE of the car this past year. The G6 is part of what makes Pontiac a running gag. The coupe an convertible are terribly proportioned cars, the sedan looks like a Japanese attempt at a Pontiac, the interior is cheap, the powertrains and overall refinement have always been lacking, it has more quality issues than the other Epsilons, oh and both the Malibu and Aura are overall better cars. The G6 is at the bottom of the Segment along with the Sebring and Avenger, and its a fleet queen. It's supposed to be part of the excitement brand yet both the Altima and Accord are better to drive. A mystery why it was killed off indeed.

Yep, it will come, and hopefully it'll be worth your wait.

I forgot a few Maserati Gran Turismo Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione -
What you should do is when the omelet gets thick enough, fold it in half with the cheese and stuff sandwiched between. Let it cook a bit then flip it and let it cook a little longer.

As the title states, what expensive cars would you like to own if you had the ability to purchase one and why? I'm thinking cars at or near six figure range. For me, in the following order: Aston Martin V8 Vantage Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV Bentley Continental GT I love the looks of the V8 Vantage inside and out. It's one of my favorite designs...elegant and timeless. It will look stunning decades later. Plus it makes quite a noise and handles well. I've always liked the Murcielago, but this last hurrah for the car is my favorite. It looks sinister and over the top...like a Lamborghini should. I love the sound of an American V8 but that V12 in the Murcielago sounds amazing. As for the Continental GT, I've always liked the looks, the fact that it is a hardtop, and that it is a luxurious GT that can handle very well for its size. So what about you guys? New cars only.

So this past Wednesday CSpec and I met up for the first it. It was great meeting a member from the site, we need to do this sort of thing more often. We hung out for somewhere around four hours, talking about the site, our cars, and playing around with his new camera. So of course, since cameras were involved, I took photos with my own.

BOSTON -- A new proposed bill designed to combat the threat of the H1N1 virus would allow the state to forcefully quarantine people in the event of a pandemic. Anyone who refuses to comply with the quarantine order could face jail time or a $1000 per day fine. The "Pandemic Response Bill" would also force health providers to vaccinate people, authorize forcible entry into private homes, and impose fines or prison sentences on anyone not complying with isolation or quarantine orders. Federal health officials are also warning of a possible new outbreak of the H1N1 virus, commonly known as the "swine flu." Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said people should expect "a big influx" of cases and brace for it as best they can. Napolitano said many cases are likely to surface before a vaccine becomes available in mid-October. Already, cases are showing up on college campuses. Fifty students at Emory College and 100 students at wake forest are sick with the flu. A high school in Nebraska reported 191 students out this week with flu symptoms. Only 13 of those cases were confirmed to be swine flu, but more are expected. New York City school officials are offering free vaccinations to their million-plus public school students. The city wants to avoid being the epicenter of another outbreak like last spring, when hundreds of students came down with the illness. The "Pandemic Response Bill" was passed by the Massachusetts State Senate on April 28. The bill is now awaiting approval in the house. (Copyright © 2009 Sunbeam Television Corp. All Rights Reserved. AVG is a good antivirus program, so you're good there. Avast is excellent as well. I use it on my computer and every computer I've had to clean up for someone. The record so far is over 100 viruses removed from one computer. Ad-Aware is an excellent anti-spyware program and spybot compliments it nicely. All of the above programs are free.
