  1. No, it's not thier job to respond to some internet thieves. NAIAS is now a month away, we can all wait until then. The teaser we got was well enough more than what was called for, we have an awesome concept to look at now.
  2. happy birthday BV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry I have nothing fun to add
  3. sure I do, and I know enough to know the AWD on this machine will kill the power to weight ratio, just about the best thing the Z has going for it. The Z is a balls out machine that competes with the Ford GT on performance. This Skyline won't be able to match the performance unless it doesn't weigh anywhere near the ~3500 lbs of the previous cars.
  4. it was scott settlemire, aka fbodfather, who said it earlier in the thread that dealers demanded incentives. I will believe him before you.
  5. nope it's about reputation and perceived value. Toyota's are perceived as more upscale and worth the money. You only have to look at plumetting resale values at GM to know the truth to that argument.
  6. I'm glad someone else came in to interject all good points regal
  7. I will check them out. But one part of the interior is design and the other part is quality. In other vehicles I've checked out from Toyota, they have always seemed to get the quality part right. Design-wise, I happen to think the Avalon is artful and creative, even if to your eyes there may be a lot of seams. Lucerne, aside from the center stack is pretty good, but the color choices could be more inviting, AND the center stack suffers from the disease z28luver diagnosed as GM Center Stack Disease. GMCSD symptoms include a complete lack of innovation or design presense. This is a significant issue when you're talking about a car that competes in the near luxury category.
  8. It probably won't come close to the Z06, and will be priced higher than it to boot. In terms of performance it'll most likely match the base C6 and be priced around 75k or 80k. An exotic for those seeking to be different.
  9. Paolino, you're forgetting the wonderful Aura that might be coming just in time. I hope it can sell over 100k units. It might be long before it makes a significant dent in the Camry's sales though.
  10. We are in agreement that dealers need to change. Perhaps this is more at the level you could be working at to make an impact within GM?
  11. I'm quite content with the volume control knobs found in the impala, lucerne, cadillac dts, solstice, and I will be very happy with those found in the esclade, tahoe, and yukon. If there is something GM has blatantly compromised on, cost-cutting has taken effect, you can be damn sure I'll comment on it. The day GM produces a vehicle that stuns people is the day they start regaining their popularity.
  12. Here is my post from the same thread: Scott, after reading your post, and the first few in this thread, I became too excited to read the rest when I saw it's okay to post impressions. I cannot say enough of how thrilled I am with this concept. In its current form, the car is pure sex. I cannot equivocate the resounding success with which you have rendered a new Camaro for the new generation. It is mean, beautiful, sophisticated, and futuristic, all wrapped into one tight, beautifully proportioned package. I mean, NO complaints. Zero. There are elements that I'm sure can be done differently, and will be done differently, but Thank God GM has finally listened and is creating exciting cars yet again. Now, take this RWD platform and give Pontiac AND Buick a huge dose of excitement too!! [BUILD Velite and G6 RWD, please please please] Those rims, the definition of perfection. You really let the designers do thier thing on this one, kudos to welburn, peters, and lutz!, and of course all the designers who had a hand in this. The interior is perfect too. I don't know man, i think, uh, build it and they will come.
  13. Yuor passion is appreciated. If you are so passionate then you are willing to look into the truth of the matter. GM's sales are the worst outside of your area. How about look at selling rates according to the areas they are in. As I've stated already numerous times, NY and LA would be among the toughest areas to sell. I would like to know what dealers' attitudes there are like. I know I visit the Chevrolet dealer pretty frequently and they always come off as Reebok salesman to me. Don't know anything about the product, except for useful features which they are obviously trained to know. Don't really have any Chevy pride, just looking to make a good buck. They are always upfront about the discounts. Must be tough when your selling point is how cheap everything is.
  14. nobody in thier right mind buys toyota for looks.
  15. do a search for my posts, you won't find me complaing anywhere about a volume knob, and.......you're thick
  16. well, this will be out right about the time Camry comes out. Will look a gazillion times better.
  17. You've yet to prove this with statistical data except for sales you had at a Buick dealership in Michigan. That speaks for itself. Are you really the top salesman accross the country? What about sales adjusted per region? Are thier salesman who have higher shares of sales in thier regions compared to your region?
  18. you're thick
  19. Well my comment was really about its design, but I will take up your challenge at the auto show, and I will definitely be feeling the quality of these cars, even though I normally skip over Toyo since I don't care for them.
  20. If we go off the pictures of the Camaro, and we use the quality of that car as reference, GM will be back in a big way.
  21. Okay, I was wrong about interior space and engine power. It hasn't been that drastically improved. Refer to the Camry's power ratings to see a car that has improved incredibly since that time, and improved efficiency as well. Interior above it's class? Haha. If the design of the cneter stack weren't so spectacularly dull than I would agree that it is right about par for the class. But you're talking about a car that competes against the Avalon, Passat, Acura TL, Lexus ES330, all in terms of price. Check those interiors and then come back and tell me it is above average for its class.
  22. The problem and reason GM's share is in a decline is too many people have recognized GM's cars are not up to the standards out there. An even bigger problem are the people who beleive GM will NEVER be able to build a car up to the standards of the competition. Listen to me instead of drowning me out. I am fairly confident in the new line of cars GM has coming out next year. Between the Aura, 900's, Lambdas, and any other surprises GM has in store for us, it will be a banner year and will hopefully be the year GM gets back in black, so that we on this site won't have to subjected to all the gloom and doom YOU keep talking about. Seriously, drop the bankruptcy talk, it's more annoying then anything being called a GM hater from some guy who keeps talking about closing shop. The problem will be attracting those people who have the perception GM just won't ever catch up. How do you get those customers? The answer: great design to pull them in, and consistent competition-beating quality and sophistication to keep them.
  23. The plan is called "Return to Greatness". There will be no return to any glory GM held by catering to AARP and PEP consumers. That's just ridiculous. GM's marketing hasn't been organized or fundamentally appealing for a long time, but that's not what has called the long gradual slide from dominance, you know better.
  24. This is all solid insider information. The Camaro will get approval based on that car's ability to garner good reaction for GM at NAIAS.
  25. you have your opinion, that's fine. The Aurora was a great car in 2002, and I still think it's a fine car. The Lucerne for 2006 isn't a quantam leap from the Aurora. Engine power stayed the same, interior room probably stayed the same or decreased, efficiency stayed the same. Ride and handling improved, MRC is available, and a nice but indistinct wrapper are the only noteworthy changes. But altogether are they enough. The interior is a big letdown, refer to Mike's post to see how bad it is. If the interior had more style and the exterior had more beauty and Buickness it would be a lot better.
