  1. you were notably absent for the past few weeks, so, ya, your presence was missed here. The accidents sound really traumatic; the best thing is that they are okay and that they don't let this traumatic experience rob them of thier peace and sanity. A part of them might always fear, but they have to be determined to defeat that part as gradually as they can. I hope things pick up for you in the job department. Having recently left my job I am now forced to put myself back into the search mode, but the good thing is now I get to start fresh.
  2. ya I think the light blue is great, the side markers kind of ruin it though. Sky pricing will make this the most appealing Saturn to have ever been made, thus far, and irresistable to people. I can see it selling the same as Solstice. The design has made it a lot more appealing than the Solstice in my eyes already. Trunk space is a serious issue, though.
  3. Well, I really see extreme similarities in the designs of the two, and I absolutely know GM looks to competitors for inspiration when it comes to these midsize cars. Look at the current Camry and Malibu, or the G6 and Altima, and of course there's this. It seems GM looks to best sellers from others to capture the right image for thier own best sellers. The current Impala, I would describe it like sci guy did. It's nice in SS form, but it's horribly derivative no matter what trim it is. It's a lot more classy than the previous model, but it also fades into the dark too easily.
  4. someone reported on this site thier dealer had already received 2. I saw heavy promotion sunday night during some of ABCs shows. Don't know that I am a fan of much of the advertising pitch. There's nothing fresh or innovative about the commercials, like the HHR, just the usual Equinox Revolution fare.
  5. Looks grreat in that color, almost sporty. I love that the new trucks are so dynamic and modern in appearance. Will really fit in well over the next years.
  6. current Astra, I beleive, only shares front suspension components, but the Delta's rear beam axle is completely different. someone with more knowledge could speak of this, but the current astra is definitely different from Delta. Delta is only used here, when it is technically "newer" than the Astra platform, Europe turned it down.
  7. There is some amazing video of the families reacting over at cnn.com. Is it just me or should the media just run the most honest videos of people being themselves and not try to put a spin on it. Really affecting stories from these people, and really affecting moods are portrayed through just watching the whole video and not just snippets coupled with reactions, heartbreaking.
  8. were you there?! :P
  9. Lot's to consider here.... GM with the use of Red Tag did not match the pace of last year. Is the economy suffering, or are the people that buy GM suffering? Or are consumers just increasingly turning to the competition as GM's core products look stale? Over at Chevy, there is no mixed bag, there's mostly negative things going on there. Chevy is No. 1! but at what cost Malibu does 200k sales, with a ratio of 50% of sales going to fleets. Impala is not achieving the bewilderingly torrid pace of last year's model, even with Red Tag and massive improvements. Were fleet sales overblown for the last model, and we are just seeing the effects of that? Or is the Impala being pushed around by stiff and outstanding competition in one of the most rigorous and competitive segments and industry ever? Cobalt- well I thought there would be figures for it from last year, but apparently it only went on sale at the beginning of this year [too lazy to check]. If that's so, then sales have really dropped off, and show significant decline compared to the Cavalier. Civic and Corolla meanwhile gain to imperious sales figures. Equinox is a certified hit..130k units and its well on its way to the top in terms of sales in its class. Now imagine this stylish exterior with the interior design presence and quality of the Rav4, packaging and space efficiency of the Rav4 [3rd row included], and powerplants offered on the Rav4. Aw Heck, GM should just let Toyota engineer thier vehicles for them and then GM should do the design work. It'll work! [just kidding] In all seriousness, imagine how powerful a competitor Chevy and GM would have with the kind of serious effort that went into the Rav4. Tahoe and big utes- strong and steadfast, sales continue, though decreased, the decrease is relatively minimal compared to how the media has been portraying this "dead segment". Exaggerations are a natural extension of human illogical thinking. Over at Buick.... Car sales have decreased dramatically this year [relative to thier overall sales]. In a transation year, some decreases are to be expected, but the loss of 40k sales, when car sales overall are only 180k, is staggering and not to be underestimated in what is being foretold at Buick. Lucerne and Lacrosse and Enclave need to turn around things, before these three cars become throwaway and irrellevant to GM. Enclave can very well be the harbinger of hope for Buick. I can see it reaching 200k units, especially since RDV was once at a pace of 100k/yr; and with the deserved success the Enclave has been under wraps, it should make a big impact in the marketplace. Hopefully, this will encourage GM to offer MORE cars at Buick. How about a nice S40, A3/A4, Passat competitor with RWD off the Camaro's platform and wheelbase, with strong isolation, beautifully sculpted interior and a solid substantial feel with connection to the road still. A G6 off this platform would also be perfection embodied. Come on GM! THINK! Don't build another stupid, money-sapping roadster, when it isn't necessary just yet, and the most important CARS, CARS aren't in the shape they need to be. [end rant] Over at Cadillac....most things are rosy. Caddy's cars have a cantankerous image that needs to be kept up though, they need to be nasty and mean and pretentious and classy and special [keep this in mind Caddy designers]. Escalade and SRX aren't doing so well, but this is probably because some are now waiting for the new Escalade, and the current Slades finally seem to be losing some steam [though this is undetectable if you only consider the kind of cars GM is charging 50, 60, and 70k for compared to what others are offering for similar prices]. Over at Saturn....things are chugging along. The new cars will be huge for them. Over at Pontiac, G6 is finally showing signs of something sustainable. But not enough. That's it. Solstice obviously a bright spot. The Torrent, otherwise known as the "mistake", is a bright spot as well. The public's appetite for utility is unsatiable. We've got Hummer!, says the lone GM boardmembers who are still content with the direction the company was in. Yes, Hummer did fantastically. GM need not stop, and more derivatives of it are needed quickly. Build a real H3T with utility, a midgate, 5 passenger seating, real comfort, and real utility. That's all there is. There isn't any more. Hehe, I've ignored some not because I don't care, but because some brands and vehicles don't always require analysis. Some are stagnant, some are about to undergo a huge product infusion, etc. Presented here is my "spin" on the results.
  10. I'll tell you what No. :) But those butch cowboy ladies they had as ushers sure got a smile and a nod from me. :P
  11. all right!
  12. I'm not saying I am a fan of the look of this car, but THIS is the kind of car Buick should be building. The market, design statement, their are very many things right with this vehicle. Buick needs to be there.
  13. I know they will do a webcast for the Camaro, but I'm not sure if you're thinking of a more general webcast?
  14. I think you could have gotten plenty of numbers using me as bait. :AH-HA_wink: There wasn't a space you could look around and not see a gay man.
  15. no phone numbers thanks, though i did become the master of the glance and look at the floor and the glance and look away. Gay men seem to have mastered the "I'm going to eat you up".
  16. Anything we can do to lower our dependence of the world oil supply is a good thing.
  17. I like your El Camino idea. I like it a lot as a fixed roof, V8 and V6 version with a bench seat with possible seating for three, and cool styling. Great Chevy niche vehicle.
  18. Pontiac going RWD and cheap AWD for those that need it is the best way to recreate that brand. Also through innovative and exciting styling and competing in segments GM isn't in any way shape or form possible of competing in right now, like a 3-series vert competitor or WRX competitor. These are segments I can only dream of GM competing in. They would drastically change the way GM, Pontiac, Chevy, et al would be viewed.
  19. hmmm....this rear looks interesting....very interesting.
  20. that would be exactly as the enclave has been described.
  21. going from what the article said, and what ah-ha posted, they would be positioning this Kappa above where a base V6 Camaro would start. The Kappa would have 2 seats instead of 4, and an SS Camaro with a 320 hp V8 will probably go for around 26k, or not much higher than the Mustang since that is who GM wants to compete with for the Camaro. I don't see either canablizing each other. But I don't see too much need for it in Chevy's lineup. But I don't see it stealing sales from other roadsters in GM's lineup, since it should be priced around the 30-40k mark. It could make sense around that price, with the right styling, interior quality, and engine and performance. I just don't know how much of a market there would be for it. If Vette can get 30k per year, I don't see why this couldn't get 20k per year.
  22. the first few paragrahps are from MT, but is that last paragraph yours ah-ha?
  23. where was the pontiac concept talked about? I thought all pontiac was getting at this year's show as the solstice GXP?
  24. I believe they will build a flexible Zeta that will house the much larger sedans and the intermediate Mustang-sized Camaro. That wheelbase would be perfect for the next G6. GM has enough FWD offerings and not enough neutral beautiful-handling RWD offerings
  25. even though that roadster is beautiful. also, Cadillac could use a low volume roadster to compete against the cars MT is saying this car would compete against, and with a high flying DI 2.8 na and turbo
