First Retail Production 2010 Chevrolet Camaro goes for $350,000
toesuf94 replied to BigPontiac's topic in Chevrolet
The part that I don't understand is that the #001 ZR1 was supposed to be Lemans Blue, and would be the ONLY LEMANS BLUE EVER OFFERED. Now we see #001 on a Cyber Grey in Leno's garage. I am confused as well. Dave Ressler is the owner of the million dollar vette, and a quick google search turned up this: http://globalmotors.net/video-dave-ressler...r-corvette-zr1/ On further analysis, Dave owns a 1953 #003 - the first official car sold to the public, so knowing that, he probably had the ZR1 built to match the VIN # of his 1953. -
Kolsch! YES! And a good brat cannot be beat. Love Koln and the Kolsch beer they produce there.

GM trucks, SUVs prone to losing power steering
toesuf94 replied to BigPontiac's topic in General Motors
And the biggest thing I take from this, besides the complete lack of handling an issue that could probably been avoided is that the plumber was awarded $120,000 after buying a truck that probably cost him MAYBE $40 grand...and the LAWYERS who were not damaged in any way are getting $259,000? Does anyone else notice a discrepancy here? Also, the guy was NOT injured or nor was there an accident mentioned in the article...yet the guy is awarded $120,000 in damages. This country is screwed up. At least after looking at this, people understand why a car that should cost us $20k costs us double that or more. -
Cadillac introduces the new presidential limo
toesuf94 replied to Intrepidation's topic in General Motors
Prove that he is NOT a Kenyan and I will gladly retract the statement. He has NEVER proven his provenance, which begs the question of WHY he refuses to prove he was born in the USA or a U.S. held territory or military base or to two U.S. Citizens. why? Still, getting back to the car (which is the topic of this thread); not an elegant design from any angle. Guess it has to be that way to stop bombs and bullets. Glad we care enough to keep whomever is the President safe. "DONK IT!""- LOL! :rotflmao: -

Personally, I don't care for the cars looks...but it is the nicest car ever given to a Kenyan that I have ever seen. -
My '57 Buick has it...but the switch is on the CARB and not under the gas pedal. The action of flooring it drops a metal ball against two points on the rear left side of the carb, engaging the starter. When the car starts, vacuum sucks the ball into a little slot to prevent you from hitting the starter when you floor the pedal. Very simple feature which is great at car shows when somebody wants to see and hear the nailhead purr...as long as the key is ON, then she will pop right off with a tug on the accelerator rod. Buick stopped offering this feature in 1958.

Chevrolet NOMAD on the Kappa platform...RWD Mini Cooper/ VW Beetle fighter. Market it as a commuter car for those of us that want a stylish car that will go from point a to point b and still be able to stop for groceries or Home Depot on the way home. Seats four, is a 4 cylinder RWD car that has sporting pretentions. Anyone else think it would sell?

Sitting pretty in that truck! Well done! So, how is the drive versus your '05?

AWD! 6 Speed! Direct Injection! BUICK??? THAT is a beautiful automobile. Love that it is AWD! The package they gave us looks to be light years ahead of the car it replaces. Hate LaCrosse name though, sorry - no heritage. Invicta would have been better, or Regal.

What game console were you using?

there are 8 parts to this...wow. Marketing in 1957 at it's finest...the soundtrack, the cars, the scenarios...awesome. part 1: part 2: part 3: part 4: part 5: part 6: part 7: part 8: these are really interesting to watch, at least they were to me. Check out the test equipment in the steering effort test!!

I will say that I am not just making fun of my sister, as I have had my times behind the wheel, not so damaging as my sister's antics, but still not perfect by any means. And Sixty8...how can you do that to that fine 'burban? I mean, there should be videos, action shots, and my all time favorite: "Hey y'all- watch this!" - moments that end in more distruction then intended, and hopefully caught on tape. Something LIKE THIS:

Your dad must have skipped the part of the driving lesson with your sister that teaches us that sparks and falling parts means STOP! Oh, I bet this still comes up from time to time at family get togethers! My sister, on her first time out with my mom and I in the car (1974 Ford Country Squire wagon!) Yells to us as we are leaving a stop sign "There's Janey So-and-So's house!" and, as she is pointing, proceeds to drive up over the curb, over a stop sign, and directly at Janey So-and-So's house's front door, four barrel carb sucking in vast quantities of atmosphere and gas as we continued to pick up speed. My mom reached accross my sister and spun the wheel HARD - avoiding So-and-so's house by about 10 feet and taking off down the sidewalk, launching us off the curb and back down on the street. Through the whole thing, my sister never once lifted off the gas! I remember getting flung back by the torque of the 360 into that naugahyde back seat and sliding into the right door and being pinned there for what seemed like an eternity. The whole event resulted in one twisted stop sign, a turfed lawn at Janey So-and-so's house, two scared occupants in the wagon, and a green scrape on the bumper of the car!

Spotted a SPOTLESS and perfect 1985/86 Dodge Daytona on the road this morning. Had not seen one this rust free since 1985/86. It was white and wearing a bra. Was the turbo as well. The damned shame of it is that the amound of salt on our roads today will probably enact a toll on this car quickly - it may be gone by LUNCH!

Don't feel too bad...my dad TOTALED my sister's Mustang II in our Driveway. He was backing out, and she pulled in. The hood STOPPED in a tee-pee shape at the base of her winshield. She was so freaked out, she threw it in reverse, drug it out from under dad's truck, and took off NASCAR style down the road, driving out her side window with the steam billowing out of the radiator, smoke from the tires...it was classic! The best part, our insurance agent at the time literally THREW the check at my dad with a big smile on his face and threw his hands up screaming: " I DON'T EVEN WANT TO KNOW HOW THIS HAPPENED IN YOUR DRIVEWAY!" and walked out, never to be mentioned again.

Picked up the Caddy a week ago...and it is everything you guys said it was. What a different animal from my beloved 2007 Tahoe! I will write up a review of the differences between the two trucks if you guys and gals are interested. I will say that the 6.2L and 6 speed are unbelievably smooth and great performers. Only about 1-2 MPG worse than my Tahoe...and if I kept my foot out of it for 5 minutes, it probably would be better! Thanks again for all of you for pointing me towards the Caddy!

I have a buddy that is a serious car nut who has(d) a large group of AMT, Johan, and other rare kits dating back to the early 60's...literally hundreds of new, never opened kits in MINT condition...that were lost to the floods back in June. He cannot even bring himself to go look at the storage building where they were stored.

I, for one, am shocked and dismayed! How could this happen? I mean, they didn't ask for any collateral or for any stipulations on the $350 Billion, and now the Government cannot seem to track how the money was spent? Seriously, the media did not see this coming? Quick Hint: Look for the public servants (Congress-persons and Senators) with the huge multi-million dollar houses and new cars in a district near you..it all funnels back to them. Oxymoron: HONEST Government. The part that CHAPS MY ASS is they drag the big three up there and act all hollier than thou at the same time they are GIVING AWAY $350 BILLION WITHOUT EVEN A SINGLE STIPULATION. The best part? The automakers get a loan and a time frame of four months...the banks just had the money handed to them and I still have not received MY thank you card from ANY of those jerks!

Wow...I so needed that! Hillarious. :rotflmao:

A lot on the list are the John Moss vehicles that he built in the skunk works! The 1994 Impala SS Wagon...1 of 1. Stuff like that. From my understanding, and from looking at the list, I see a lot of the lessor desirable cars and later model stuff coming up for sale. There are some really nice cars on the list as well. I would love the Blackhawk Concept car in my garage. I also know that a lot of the cars in the collection have been bought back by GM over the past few years/decades. There are a lot of great cars in the collection, and while it hurts, I think they are selling a lot of the stuff that is maybe a little less historic or covited. yes, there are a lot of Wonderful cars on the list...including some ultra rare C4 and C5 corvettes...stuff like the #1 Aztek built is not something that i see being as exciting at a car show as say the Corvette Mako Shark. I will try to get the list uploaded tomorrow unless somebody else already has done so.
