  1. The stripes are right for a red Iroc...and what a red Iroc that is....where are the drool smileys? Ahh, there we go. I am actually looking for one of these to put away someday. Not in the market right now, but if I was - I would snap this one up!
  2. Sweet find! Love that car. We had one in 1990 that we bought used. Traded in a 1986 5 Speed Manual 735i for the 1988 that was LIGHT YEARS ahead of the '86. Ours was Silver metallic over silver leather. My dad loved that car, and it was a great performer with comfort and gas mileage to put a lot of cars on the road to shame. Would love to read the details!
  3. Saw a very rare, 1986 Monte Carlo Aero Coupe on the road here in Cedar Rapids, and yes, it was White with a Burgandy interior. The guy was on the highway and babying the thing and keeping it away from other cars. The plate did read AEROCPE. I love those cars.
  4. Denny's is offering an "Octomom Special" It comes with 14 eggs, NO sausage, and the guy behind you has to pay for it. They are calling it the "Invitro-Slam"
  5. I found a picture of it's target buyer online.

    EYE CANDY

Spied a Yellow Vehicross Iron Man edition...still a wild looking truck how many years later!
  7. What a great find. Now the bad news; the fiberglass is splitting along the back valance (and probably every other seam on the body) The split seams will allow water into the birdcage and frame/body supports. In short, the steel inside the fiberglass body of this car is more than likely GONE. This car will be cary an astronomical restoration bill if anyone will be willing to take it on. '63 Corvettes are a one year only parts nightmare - I know this from experience on a split window that a friend restored, and his was stored indoors for years. Take any part cost and double it. This car will be an absolute nightmare...and as a Corvette lover, I would love to see this car pulled out of that morons driveway and saved. I just hope to God it happens before the car becomes a pile of plastic and steel dust. The person's right was to allow the car to sit and rot. It is his car. How he has not been brought before a jury of his Corvette peers. found guilty, and then hung from a rope until he is dead for crimes against an automobile.
  8. Your Mom's name is Corvair?
  9. if you poop yourself, your friends MAY find out - and they will laugh at you... If you buy a Toyota, your friends WILL Find out - and they WILL laugh at you... Draw?
  10. The image of the GC looks like a LAST gen X5 met a GMT-900 Tahoe and stole it's headlights. Not unattractive by any means...just a mix of already seen that.
  11. Unfortunately...yes! Grrrr.... I even found his picture! ->
  12. Rick Astley! Seems I only hear him on the web! KIDDING! Depeche Mode...Alternative/New Wave. Thank GOLLY for XM!
  13. I concur...that is a Nike Swoosh and an N...pretty damned certain. The police should be able to run that shoe through a database of prints and pinpoint the exact model of shoe it is from. That is a pretty clear image. I hate vandals, so I hope you catch the prick(s) that did this. I hope they get vandalized themselves
  14. Funky and fun...I see NO Chevrolet Heritage in it at all...but it is funky. Not my cup of tea, but if it sells, good for GM.

    EYE CANDY

Some NON-Candy, but rare in these parts: 1984 Chevrolet Citation in Gold Metallic. SWEET!
  16. I kind of like the design aspect...it is funky and fun. It will probably sell just fine for the gotta have it crowd out there, just like the original xB did, just like the Honda Element did...they sell to the fringe guys and gals that want something different on the road. This is a cheap, funky little car that will be easy to accessorize at the dealer (just like the xB) and people like that. Kudo's for Nissan to bring something out that is edgy and different (albeit in a market that is already fully accepting of the xB). GM does NOT offer anything like this, nor do they offer the funki-fied gadgets and doo-dads to be slapped on them like the Japanese counterparts do. If they made an Aveo-BOX, then they would have something to compete. The HHR is in a class way above these Japanese Sushi-boxes on wheels. With all of that said: I would not be caught dead in ANY of the above mentioned 'cars' because I don't think any of them will be able to stand up to the woman on her cell phone that just ran that stop sign in her H2 and flattened the little things like a pancake. I do wish GM would offer something like these types of cars - the Nomad concept of years past built on the Kappa platform comes to mind, or the Beat, Groove and Trax concepts that were so exciting a few years ago.
  17. So GM would close and move Oshawa's production where? Spring Hill? Detroit? Wisconsin? This would be an interesting development, but I think another delay in the production of the Camaro would kill the car. Maybe I am wrong, but I am sensing a lot of anger at even the slightest delays with the Camaro faithful. Does anyone here think that closing Canadian operations and moving them stateside would be a smart move? (I am not biased, just want to see where you guys stand)
  18. So, adding all of this up, Toyota INC managed to recall 1,570,398 cars today. This is on top of the ongoing buy back of Toyota Tacoma's...trucks that they are taking directly to crushers to eliminate...Estimated at 813,000 trucks. We are up to 2,383,398 cars and trucks and we are not even into February yet. Quality?
  19. Since the Lexi are nothing but gussied up 'Yotas...should we expect a BEST EVER Toyota recall soon? They should be using the same material for the fuel lines in the Toyotas. no? I did not read the Article, so forgive me if this was covered in the story.
  20. Getting back on topic; by not making a NATIONAL standard for fuel Economy or MPG for the cars, Obama has opened it up for each state to mandate it's own standard, which the automakers will be unable to meet. Further, if states feel they need to raise money for budget shortfalls, they will just tax new cars that do not meet the standards that they set. (See Federal Gas Guzzler taxes) When they place a tax on the new car, the people who need a car will now go buy a USED car rather than the very expensive NEW car that keeps people employed in US factories. The Used car, presumably will not meet the new standards set by the state, so in essence it will be a gross polluter versus what the now expensive and unsold new car WOULD have been. So, net effect of changing CAFE or CARB standards will be an increase of USED and older car sales, a DECREASE of new car sales, a larger state government for each state to MONITOR the emissions standard and a larger Federal government to monitor the states...and more unemployment for the workers in the auto plants world wide. Oh, and the SMOG problem will be the same or worse due to the older cars being on the road longer or in greater numbers. There are reprecussions to making mandates and changes to energy policy. By leaving it to the states, he has opened a Pandora's box of legislation and taxes on the state level and decreased your freedom of choice at the dealership and done NOTHING for cleaner air anywhere.
  21. they are not my ideals...they are THEIR ideals. Where in the Constitution, Declaration of Independence and Magna Carta is the dealing of enemy combatants covered? I have read them. I believe the document you NEED TO READ is the Geneva Convention, which our enemies seem to have not read either. So all of you bitching over how these poor detainies have been captured and tortured with waterboarding or scare tactics (along with room and board and prayer time and meals prepared according to Muslim law) - while they treat any person they capture with severe prejedice...a sword and a ski mask no meal, no prayer time...just a video of them dying to be posted on the net while their body is thrown in a ditch... Yeah, seems fair to me. So you can take your near sighted, Liberal ideals and shove them where THEY belong. Go enjoy a bottle of mountain dew...it will have more displacement than your next car.
  22. How anyone on this site can sit here and claim that what the government is doing to the very industry you claim to love is a good thing - is really beyond me. If you support this, then you do NOT support the very industry or the products it produces at all. This bill will hinder the U.S. Auto industry at a time when declining sales put it in a position of no cash to comply. And Oldsmoboi, you talk about the new inteligence chief being against torture to known and suspected terrorists captured on the battlefield as a good thing, or as I quote: "The incoming US intelligence chief says that "Torture is not moral, is not legal, is not effective." He also is going to stop the unlawful surveillance of Americans. Hours after taking office, President Obama ordered a halt to the show trials at Guantanamo, Guantanamo is to be closed within a year and the CIA directed end 'enhanced' interrogations. Could we also do away with Homemade Security or at least persuade it that Americans have rights again? <sarcasm>The US is becoming a nation of weak-kneed constitution readers.</sarcasm>" I tell you what, we should treat our prisoners with the same respect that they have shown Americans captured over there: CUT THEIR HEADS OFF AND THROW THEM IN A DITCH! I agree - Close GITMO and lets end these trials and torture (three squares a day and prayer time - complete with a free copy of the hate book Quaran compliments of the US Taxpayer - TORTURE!!!) and let's just behead the captured right there on the field. And all of our troops will be issued a black ski mask and name patch covers to prevent getting sued.
  23. talk to her. About anything and everything. Build some memories and ask her about her life. You will learn things she was never willing to share before. Get this information and these aspects of her life before it is too late. She will enjoy the distraction, and will also be at peace for being able to give to you the one thing she has to give you: Knowledge. You would be amazed how much automotive history she will have that you would love to hear as well. When my wife's grandmother was dying, I spent HOURS talking with her about the hard times she had, about the Oldsmobile dealer going door to door in 1932 with a nice little coupe that he was trying to sell for $17 a month. Or her trip in her 1949 Roadmaster Convertible to Florida...and the roadside picnics and getting it fixed...the stories of days past are fascinating and really made her feel better reliving those days long gone, instead of living in the moment. Sorry for her illness.
  24. Thank you...well said. These states are completely bankrupt and do not know how to manage their money, yet are going to mandate emission standards and MPG standards for all the cars sold in the state? Yeah, I am sure that will work. So, taking a page from California's book, can the automakers give the state an I.O.U. for the MPG they are short - just like they are thinking of doing with the tax refunds they owe people? So, now Iowa can mandate that all cars and trucks sold in the state can ONLY be run on 100% ethanol, right? And they have to achieve 35 mpg on the urban cycle while using that fuel, right? Here is a solution: California can go RICKSHAW power. Use all of the illegal alliens to PUSH or PULL the cars around instead of running the engines. They seem to have an abundance of the buggers around...they are renewable, and cheap.
  25. Not to get into a pissing match with anyone, but how about the following facts? http://skylla2012.wordpress.com/2009/01/07...-hussein-obama/
