    SUBURBANS

How many of the 150 tahoes you have left???
  2. What is the price range of this beast?
  3. Kemairoh...duh, can't you spell? Spells just like it sounds!
  4. yeah, i think it is much better than the Durango myself, in fact I find it to be quite a handsome truck. I just don't know if I can get past the name. ( Not that I am in the market for one...still saving for the Z28 next year ) Our babysitter loves it, which is interesting to me that a 19 YO lady is interested in such a car - prbly not Diamler Chrysler's target demographic...anywho...my only issue was with the name. But if it is just me that snickers...good for them.
  5. you are lucky then...the previous Aspens were a serious joke.
  6. just to be a d*ck...for $46k you can have a kick butt 07 Tahoe LT3 that has a lot nicer interior than the Dodge, will have a better re-sale value, can haul ass in a horse trailer and you can look down at all the people sitting in the Charger SRT-8 wondering where the sunlight went when you pulled up next to them. I do agree, that for $44 large, there are nicer cars out there than the SRT-8. However, I have to say that the car is pretty cool, if not a bit overrought with billboard stripes and "DAYTONA" badging. Looks cool in Banana yellow - still would not buy one though. And to all of you that say the GTO does not have heated seats : $199 for the kit to do that...Sunroof : $1,500.00 into any car...Nav - what does a Tom Tom cost??? Can I put one in for less than $18k??? I bet.
  7. Does the Dodge Aspen nameplate garner anything other than a snicker from true auto fans? I can only hope that there will be a Dodge Aspen Volare edition. http://www.chrysler.com/aspen/ now, I know that it is merely a rebodied Durango, but it really is kinda nice looking. My only question is: do you think the Aspen name was a wise choice considering the previous vehicles that the name conjures up?
  8. "I, like most, are concerned with what exactly my tires are learning...and from whom. My last set of tires loved metalwork and shop because they picked up on nails quickly." ROFL! Now...what exactly do tires learn and will they tell on us when we exceed the limits of traction???
  9. As an owner of an '07 Tahoe - if the media is driving the same truck that I am - they had better heap the praise that it deserves on the GMT-900's. Anything less will having me on my subscription cards and sending them in. Honda Ridgeline wins Truck of the year and every reviewer I heard from hated the styling, the engine was too small, and it was terrible on mileage...yet they loved the tailgate design...so that must me what meritted the award...the very same tailgate that is on my 95 Roady wagon, and evey country squire since 1960...give me a break. As far as BMW getting good reviews due to the 'duffel bags of $$$$' statement. You have to drive them to understand them. They really are that good. And even with that said - the supposedly 'unsubjective' automotive press usually ranks the new BMW's lower than normal due to their personal opinion of the styling on the cars. Love them or hate them - they are different. And they do drive unbelievable. Anyone who has driven a 740IL with the 4.4 at speed can tell you that. Like a turbinem so smooth all the way to the red line...and it wants to be there... I think I just ....never mind. Toyota...I suspect the $$$$ has a lot to do with it. The press turns away from such high praise as: "requires premium fuel only to obtain any real mileage" or "Door sounds like a piece of loose roofing tin blowing in the breeze when closed" or the "mousefir headliner material is really the best of the bunch-showing all signs of even the slightest touch by an errant flea." Stuff that my real world driving experience has shown me. That and the dealerships literally suck when it comes to repairs...ask my brother with the $40k Sienna van...oops broken again. "Sorry, parts are backordered...would you like to RENT a loaner?" I laugh at that every time.
  10. Used the on-board...drivin' her hard, she gave me 16.5 - not unexpected after only 1200 miles.
  11. wow. That is hot! I would buy one. And the sticker is at $33,725. Not bad with everything shown. You telling me they can't sell those here?
  12. By the way - when I was at NAIAS on press day - four Mercedes 'reps' came into the Pontiac Booth and looked over the Solstice...when they saw the pricetag there were collective sighs and utter shock: The German translation was roughly: " Only $20,000! How is this so?" So to go after the Euro Brands with Pontiac is highly do-able, and should be done. They were worried about selling the SLK against the Solstice...you have them looking Pontiac
  13. The entire reason that I never bought the 05 goat that I really really wanted was the lack of a NAV system, Heated seats, and a sunroof. For the pricepoint they were selling for - plus a PERSONAL LUXURY PERFORMANCE COUPE...those options should have been standard. The seats were awesome, the car was a blast to drive, the styling - while not having a HUGE wow factor - certainly made up for it with the 400 horse wallop in the a$$ when the pedal was matted. I also do not think that this is the end of the GTO as we know it...if the drawings I have seen pan out - the next car should blow your minds...let's just hope that GM is listening to these posts and gives us the car we want, or at least a choice of the options we want on a car costing what they want for them...and also gives the guy who wants the old muscle car days back again the Judge option - less sound deadening, manual roll up windows no AC - a stripper - and make it attractively priced...I bet they could not fill the boats up fast enough. So, sorry to see you go again, Mr. GTO...look forward to seeing how you look when you return and see if you learned from your mistakes.
  14. work...and the prospect of back roading to find maybe a pretty cool car hiding somewhere...saw a few that I should have stopped to talk about. 59 Impala 2 Dr hardtop...a few 2nd gen Camaros...a first gen Monte...I am a sick sick boy when it comes to cars.
  15. I would bank on it ( Long product cycle) - unless GM is actually going to mimic the other makers (BMW, Honda, Toyota, - you know - the 'good guys' according to the automotive press ) in both quality AND product improvement...in which case I would say that you will be seeing a refresh at least every few years, at least I hope so. The quality is there on the Tahoe...just wondering how long til it is 'differentiated' from it's current design. Look how ludicris that statement is: The truck has been on market for what 33 days, and we are already asking about the replacement...sick. We are all warped in the head.
  16. so should I wait and get her an Outlook/Enclave since the Uplander is not so good?
  17. I have the Ebony seats with light Titanium from the dash up. The rest is black. It is very tasteful and - yes it shows the dust - it seems to be holding up to the kids doing the in and outs. I have not had anything fall off - even in sub-zero temps, and have not noticed the headliner issue that you mentioned. Now I will have to look. By the way - noticed something cool today - when you have XM sellected on the nav screen, there is a large XM in the backround - yeah, I know, whoopie...but I found it kind of cool. Still quiet as a mouse inside and out. Starting to see them on the road here now. I am sure they will start moving more and more as public gets more information on them. As for the good deal on the '06 and '05's...still would do that for my wife if she wanted them...but she wants the Uplander LT AWD. Silver over ebony for her as well.
  18. i received word today that the Tahoe sold 3500 units from the 13th to the end of January...and that the number had already been exceeded by the end of the second week of February. I would like to know how that compared to the last roll out...I will ask him and post what he tells me in the morning. Newbiewar, how are they moving at your dealership? I was surprised at the fact that there are three Yukon's and one Escalade STILL at the dealer by me...not exactly flying off the lot. After seeing them, I think the Tahoe is the best looking of the trio. Liked the dash over the one in the Escalade...full instrumentation is not available in the Caddy...it is in my Tahoe.
  19. the NAV/DVD system is super. Throw the headphones on the kids and let them Find Nemo while I enjoy the Bose system belting out my favorite XM satelite Radio...and to be able to control it from the front is very nice for the wife - she simply reaches over and hits the buttons. So slick. Also, for those who have not had the chance to try the On Star phone system - it is worth the few dollars to have. Just talk to the truck and it dials the number for you. Worked great in the middle of nowhere Missouri this week when I was out of cell range. I cannot get enough of the truck. I cannot wait to drive it again.
  20. I am in love with the Velite and wish for it to be part of GM's stable soon. I love the Bel Air Concept... and spent some time with it at the Heritage Center - it needs to be bigger inside and the headlights changed dramatically. The car has a lot of following amongst the people at the Heritage event I was at, and they all loved everything about the car. The question on everyone's mind was - why was it not built? - Oh. and please do not build it on the Colorado platform...but the Camaro Platform would work! The Buick - wow...that car has me in it's grasp.
  21. also - let us not forget that the latest offerings to the V-series cars have been supercharged...so the Blue Devil motor MAY be what is in there - to keep in line with the blower motors of the STS-V and XLR-V
  22. Are you kids forgetting about the rumored LS9 that you yourselves uncovered with the CAD request form last month??? That DOHC motor would bump the output into the 500 hp range easily - plus it would breathe...that would compete with an M5/M3/M6 output and gives us something to drool over.
  23. Just returned from two days of almost continuous driving on a trip to Sprinfield, MO and back - 900 miles round...I came away even more impressed. The infortainment systems and Nav are awesome...and the On Star phone system is cool as all get out! Just say 'Dial' and it asks you for the number - say the number listen to the repeat by the computer - then it dials...great service. Now - for the important stuff: This truck really handles much better than it should, the brakes are steller and the motor just keeps getting better and better - the intake growl under hard accelleration is sooooooo sexy ...and does it hustle!!! 66-90 + is a blink. I took some back roads through MO - stuff that would be fun in my Vette - found myself laughing as I tossed her from corner to corner. It has the 20-inch wheels on it - and they just stick! Also, the nervouseness of the old truck on uneven pavement or washboarding is gone. Overall came away thinking -" If I did not see the Bowtie in the steering wheel - I would seriously think I was in a Bimmer!" Minor complaint - unless I am missing something - there is no telescoping steering collumn in my truck - I feel like the top of the steering wheel is too far away for 10 and 2 driving.
  24. well, I spoke with an engineer in Detroit during the Camaro weekend and he was very excited about a styling clay that he saw in the studio with the Camaro...it looked like a 63 Impala! All he could say was "Holy $^*t Dude!" And it was RWD! That would be an improvement right there - RWD. It will help me with my Camaro ( Platform sharing ) and it would give me an alternative to FWD cars that I hate. As far as a few of the Impala's that I have driven...they are solid, powerful and quiet. Nice features. Pretty much a nice car...not exciting to me at this time...but the future is bright!

    .....

Edmunds...Edmunds...Edmunds...Don't see them sitting on the board at GM, and I didn't meet them at the unveiling...(Plus I have been told to NEVER NEVER NEVER believe anything in the media by a great, great man :AH-HA_wink: ) So, I am going to say that the Edmund's story is Bunk! Don't go blowing your deposit money on a Challanger or a pony...wait for the real deal - in '08. For those of you who think that those number's don't jive - I am driving an '07 and it is February 17, 2006. And I fully plan to be driving a Camaro way before 2010.
