Can’t you just take it to some auto shop, spend a couple hundred, and make it a pillar less hardtop???
-
I'm a bit surprise that this concept didn't steal anybody design since it's from a country where its automakers, (not just buick) copies/rebadge/needs help from others, to design its own cars. I'm aware that this is a pre concept, but so far these dosent sound good: wow, just wow. the 3 year old velite face is better looking than riviera concept?! like most NA buick concepts, this thread would be filled with post saying something like : this will save buick! build this! this is the best concept i ever seen! so far there's 3 of them and the rest dosen't sound great. And this is how buick is going to be saved, w/ rebadges of out-dated designs?

wait till april 30.

Chinese design are nothing but rip-offs. A country that steals other carmaker ideas /design ex: chery/chevy, Plutus copy of the Colorado, a concept suv that is a rip off of prev. gen Honda CRX, designs that look like old generations of BMW/MB. Sometimes they add shiny buttons, wood/chrome on a polished toaster,. The best they can do is a badge engineering job. On this they did an ok job. The HAVC center is from a [post="http://www.globalautoindex.com/picview.plt?p=news/1392&n=5"]35k chinese lax[/post] with no mp3 outlet!! How f--- sad! And it has the same int. idea as the LAX : add long strips of wood all on the dash center, console, steering wheel and call it a day. despite of what i said, i would like to see the interior like this on any US buick soon I love the 2008 CTS, but not this.

fyi i was talking about the other two minicar concepts; is the other minicar concept is going to be a 2 door...........
-
At what cost?
-
i wonder what are the other two are going to be. 2-doors? A drop-top? A super-mini corvette??
-
A while ago we mentioned what brands that competes with sicon. While it's not logical that any of gm's brand should be a direct competor, the chevrolet minicar concept could go one on one with the small XA since it's appears to be a sub-compact with a high roof. I totally love the idea that were given three concepts and vote on the concept that we like.

:rotflmao: Where did you get that?

My post? I guess i rant at the wrong topic.

And there are some dumbasses who add crap to them at a ridiclous price.

If the aveo and the cobalt (LS, LT, LTZ) had vvt, the milleage would be better. That's f---ing unacceptble. How about this, some ppl are stuck with cheap old trucks, suv, or cars that get low millage and they can not afford to purchase a new car that gets about 10 mpg better than what they have. Add the higher insurance, tax, and any other expenses making a expence of 15 to 22k. How would it encourage those folks that have a average-low income, to buy a fuel efficent car?? The bus is not always the best answer because it's not in every single block, the parent(s) have full time job(s), take the kids to school. ect, tight schedule. Global warming is not a big deal to some cause it's not tangable, but higher gas price (read money) is. At the gas stations do you think that people are complaining about global waming?

the V-12 is less likely to foretell a model all by itself. It could be nothing more of a high-performance trim (like an AMG 65 or a XLR-V) that would cost 100k, and the rest would be V8. I don't expect that the DTS will make a great huge leap in price and features. Instead of the current Fwd floating, isolated Caddy, the next gen could be a RWD, caddy that float a little bit and offer two different sizes, thus the longer size that has the V12 costing 100k.
-
and those are the ones who can think ahead instead of being shortsighted, being afraid of taking a good risk, and paying too much attention to focus groups. For the next lacrosse how about they rent a bentley, or a austin martin and put it in the studio and use it for a inspiration. The result would probably be good, if you take a look at the 64 riviera .

Finally someone had my idea and said better. I'm not too sure that the EP-2 can be streched to fit the dts. If the ULS/FTS/V12 is going to look like the 2004 cadillac sixteen concept, and the ng dts will be produce at the same time, how would it look like? Is it going to be like the 1995 deville/ fleetwood, just strech the wheelbase and change the front and back a little bit?

Just to make some price facts clear From MSN: DTS: $41,390 - $48,760 STS: $42,250 - $74,870 7-series: $75,000 - $121,400 6-series: $73,900 - $80,900 M6: $98,600 - $104,400 S-class: $85,400 - $181,500, 181k being the AMG CL-class: $99,900 - $144,200 Continental GT: $164,990 Continental Flying Spur: $169,990 If the idea of making the NG DTS an S-class/ 7 series fighter, barely makes any sense. From cardata.com: Does anyone bother to look at the sales?? So let's say cadillac sold 60-70K deville/DTS for 2006 and 2007 model year. It sure did, the 08 cts took a whole bunch of the styling exercise and there is only enough for a ng DTS only. Having both a DTS and a ULS is a bit like the current S class and maybach.
-
when the s and cl class are used for a comparison, as a Large Luxury/Performance Sedan, why on earth is a bentley mentioned?? Here: Mercedes S-Class/BMW 7-series/Audi A8 Competitor & Mecedes CL/BMW 6-series Competitor. 100k isn't a base price if cadillac is going to compete with them. Try 85k. Does anyone seem to notice that cadillac is unique when it comes to price, size, and features? For example the DTS has same size and interior room of a 7-series, but dosen't offer the features that's found in a 80-90k car. CTS; the size of a 5-series, but the price of 3-series. There's so much neglect that cadillac line-up dosen't match exactly what ever euro. is offering.

None of them are vp. We had some of the best back then; Mitchell and Earl.

Have you tried to take a nap by folding the rear and front passenger seats?

After visiting the art center college of design, in pasadena, and seeing this, I pity the whole group who designed this. There are undergrads, heck, even teens in their first year in acdc who can come up with something more creative than this, even when it’s watered down. Also there is something missing most of the time, there’s no mentioning of the name(s) of who design this! For bmw you’ve got Bangle, dcx: Creed, ford: j. Mays. For gm there’s a whole lot of the good ole bob lutz. Sure he’s plays an important role of the improvements of whatever gm brings, but half of the time there’s no credit of who designed it. The 08 bu’ is great, but the face is nothing new, especially reading some articles saying that ‘this is the new face of chevy’. That sounds a bit contradicting because the dual-split grill is already seen on the current generation impala, tahoe, suburban, and the avalanche. I like the interior more than the ext. although the dash is almost the same shape as the current Malibu, just outlined with wood/silver trim. Good looking though

This would make a great ng DTS.

Pontiac needs the G8 andit will offer a V6. Moreover, the G8 will offer something that Pontiac been lacking for some time, a 5 seat, rwd, drive like a bmw (alomst), powerful V6 & V8, sedan all within a great bargan. Right on that one, it's much better than the GTO, but it's still bland like a toyota. though most of C&Gs have a double standard or can't accept that , but i understand that. The solstice had great looks that made people say "What car is that?", "That's a pontiac?!" and that wasn't a rebadged holden!! Holden has the experties in RWD that's good which we need in the us for upcomming cars and develop them with reduced R&D costs. Design? Well Holden is never a leader on that one, except the eiffy (sp?) concept. Dealers? ha, Half of them doesen't know S*** about the auto industry, there are there to make a living. It takes more than what ever they learn in Business 101 to help gm a little more w/ selling cars. The short sighted ones will over gouge the G8 buy marking them up or adding such unnecessary overpriced BS in them, greatly reducing it's "value" in offering great performance for a cheap price. Thus making some potental customers turn away.

So far i haven't heard about putting chains around the tires, how much does it help?
