  1. i think variance got it right... the car does have the number 2000 on it... right in front of the doors on each side... i figured that had something to do with the model... but when i asked anyone from my family they had no idea... as faras the year... i couldve sworn i had seen it labeled as a 195X... but im not saying that couldnt have been wrong... so it very well may be a 196X... either way... today while i was looking at it i was told that this is a potential wedding present for me... which makes sense as my grandfather did promise it would be my car one day... even though that was when i was about... 6... this is the car that truly sparked my interest in cars and the automobile industry... so its very special to me... as well as it being one of my grandfather's prized possessions
  2. alright well ive been promising 68 pictures of my grandpa's Datsun for a pretty long time now... and today i finally got a chance to take some... unfotunately all i had with me was my phone... so the pictures arent of the best quality... but they can suffice until im able to get better pictures... front view... the hood is up because the battery is currently being charged... i think this picture looks like one of MrDM's "hot rod" filter chops engine... sorry for the blurriness... it says "Nissan OHC" on the top of the engine interior... my favorite part is the analog clock dead center on the dash... dont know if you can see it or not rear... pretty tidy little rear end... i like the stacked taillights... they give the appearance of fins without being ridiculous like alot of other 50s cars thanks for the help with the year and model of the car guys
  3. thanks z im sure it took alot of work... unfortunately... i cannot enjoy the new look... and i never really saw the old look either... my laptop has the dreaded "red x disease" on this site... i can see a handful of the smileys, and everyones avatar and sig as well as posted pictures... but most of the smileys, buttons, and site images etc are just red xs for me...
  4. this is a carthat doesnt even have an excuse for being a hatchback... theres next to no cargo room to begin with in the rear... why even try? i hate hatchbacks
  5. aahh so thats where brick head wound up... ive been wondering about him... last time i saw him he was struggling to make ends meet... glad to see he's cut out a niche for himself...
  6. affordable: '05 GTO cost no object: 1969 Corvette L88 (if anyone... didnt see that comming... id be shocked...)
  7. hmm... BV Chris Fly Sixty8 (maybe i can get my lazy ass in gear and finally show you my grandpas old Datsun... ) Knightfan... itd be fun to talk Monte Carlo with you... plus id love to see your collection in person if i wanted to meet someone to specifically talk cars tho... itd probably be Balthazar or HarleyEarl i also support the idea of one big get together kind of deal... thatd be lots of fun
  8. oh alright... i wasnt trying to start anything... i was simply intrigued
  9. was that a... "you drive a FWD Monte Carlo" kind of interesting... or a "you have a strange taste in cars" kind of interesting? no hard feelings... just curious
  10. wait a second... i get it now... you want that so you can push all the toyotas out of the way so you can keep your Aurora safe... makes sense... i say go for it...
  11. i think standard taxi beats this thing out
  12. no joke... i saw the title and i thought Fly had gone all... BV on us... Skylarks were nice... when they were coupes... in the late 60s...
  13. wow... more impressive is the awesome power and sound the italians managed to pull out of a 3.3 liter engine... the V6 in my monte is a 3.8... absolutely amazing
  14. lazyness... they dont want to think up new names and they are afraid to put classic ones on their new products... most people here aren't fans of the whole G# naming scheme
  15. nice... my most recent hot wheels purchase was a 1969 Corvette L88... its a maroon-ish color... with a black L88 stripe on the nose... so pretty... now if only i could find its big brother...
  16. :rotflmao: :rotflmao: i nearly pissed meself when i read that
  17. no... way... thats... absolutely insane hysterical... a little, but man... i cant even think right now...
  18. i will call her... the Catalina... and she will be awesome
  19. yes well... the real reason you're weird is that you think an XJ looks better than a Quattroporte...
  20. a new cell phone... had mine for 2 and a half years and its starting to get crappy... and then money... and i have my eye on this: as far as what im getting other people... havent decided yet... i should probably get on that tho...
  21. and a hatchback
  22. "hmmm... this thing isnt getting enough air to the engine to keep it from over-heating at its 15,000 rpm redline... but how to fix this..." "well we could take away that part of the grill opening thats not letting any air in... make the whole grill functional and itll probably look kinda cool..." "no no... that makes far too much sense... let me think about this... I GOT IT!" "what?" "we'll add a third intake on the hood!" "but wont that look completely ridiculous" "nah... just make it sink into the hood instead of pop out... and put it behind the other two a little bit... nobody wil notice at all" "man... this is worse than when i worked at chrysler and that guy designed the Aspen..."
  23. thats half the right answer... what you meant to say was "My minivan is actually a Blue Devil mule" drivers they are EVERYWHERE in North NJ, last night im driving down the Parkway at 75 and some idiot is tailgating me, so i move to the left middle lane and let him pass... what was he driving? a Honda Odyssey not 10 minutes later i see in my rearview mirror some idiot weaving around cars and generally just driving like an ass... when the car passes me... Chrysler Town& Country literally the most annoying kind of drivers ever... as well as potentially the most dangerous... minivans arent built to weave through traffic and act like a performance car... driving them like that has got to creat an extreme risk of roll-over and/or spin out
