  1. by the way it says in that article, photo by brian williams..... does that mean he could say "i was there"
  2. cars like this should go over well in California. Tesla will be out of the business before 10 years. This is GM's toe in the door to crack it open and lead EV's. speaking of 'floating roofs' GM already dun that. So did Ford Probe. and Intrepid Still love the cutlass BTW, the W body cutlass and Grand Prix were great designs that still look modern
  3. agree, this Bolt looks more interesting than i thought it would be.
  4. Volvo going back to a conservative shape for the F ship is a good idea. Car does have a tinge of Chinese feel in the interior, but at the same time it evokes the blockiness and boxiness of older Volvo interiors. Lots of sedans morphing into one or two box designs. This has a definite 3 box creased look.
  5. Passat has S model, Wolfsburg, SE, SEL, and possibly the Sport and maybe one other. And then 3 engines. But thats what you get when you want big sales in volume segments. So does this mean manual trans will get cut on a lot? And will they consolidate their automatic choices? Gotta wonder if the Germans won't take to a little US backlash. The EPA busted this, at some point the German fans will go, 'is emissions and mpg really worth what has been done to this German company'.
  6. Give people a difference maker. http://www.siouxcityford.com/blog/new-2014-ford-focus-with-no-charge-winter-package A package like this on a small car can tilt the equation. Similar deal is a 'sun and sound' package
  7. i was really a lame promotion. ford has great success in spring and fall/winter with regional promotion packages in their cars. Package up rebates / cheap lease with some regional packages, (for example heated seats and remote start for free or huge discount) at the right time of year and its a useful tool. A bunch of doofs and 'friends and family' doesnt work.
  8. still goes to when the 'rules' are so crazy that law abiders have to go rogue as a norm to comply then its really a ridiculous situation. vw of course should have gone with def tanks, but emissions and mpg standards need to go into holding pattern for ten years or so.
  9. The real question is will Elons ego let him do something like this. His rocket company as already taken a hit from the competition this week as it is. In that lies the rub. Egotistic smart people think they should still rule everything and control everything. This is probably one of the biggest problems. He cannot see what his real benefit is to society other than trying to be a ruler. u win the internet today ^^^^^^^! spot on caddy should be aiming for a plug in with 100 or more miles of range
  10. you're not really accurate, I don't have anything against the 4 speed other than the 6 speed had better mpg, paddle shifters, and drove better. i can't endorse cobalts for pleasure or sport, or luxury, as mine (sedan) is coming up on 100k, but i can say its been reliable. Apart from recalls, only the window switches have really been an issue. Still on the original brakes. Literally have just changed oil and tires and put gas in it. It's actually going to be for sale pretty soon, i would LOVE to pass it on to another, but you'd have to be jiggy with a 5 speed. G5 would be a neat find.
  11. i still see lots of nearly 20 year old saturn that look great. Maybe by now they could have figured out how to 3d print plastic car panels......on demand
  12. I had some like for it also, but was it really identifiable as a Cadillac,
  13. these teasers are starting to seem common
  14. mazda 3 is unattractive and too small. not fast either mazda 6, tight inside and no go either, too racy of styling for selling mainstream miata - toy car, a good one, but has limited appeal cx5, a good product but how come people still buy crv's cx9, people will say, why no v6, and it should have more room mazda always designs in something that keeps them out of the mainstream
  15. right gm is purposely 'debuicking their lineup, envision is a chinese x5, lacrosse has a nice azera vibe going on. not that they aren't bad to look at, they are just stripped of their buick. the avenir still has the buick. i'd could set my 77 century coupe, or a 95 riviera, or a boattail riviera, or a 92 park avenue, and they would look in perfect company. remember catera? they stripped it of its cadillac
  16. Prolly destination charges imagine how expensive the dest charge will be when they start shipping them from china it really sucks the diesel isn't there out of the gate. I had been looking at a current gen diesel for awhile, but this whisper diesel and new style make me want to wait. Current gen cruze leases are almost too good to pass up, i prob won't have the patience.......
  17. nice new beak but that interior is terribly bland and 2003-ish
  18. only 227hp on 87 octane.....'ah but its the torque'! a nice alternative, at least its distinctive. if they don't overprice it, it should sell ok.......
  19. wait till Tony puts his 'multi air' in dees miata
  20. it would be nice to see the plug in range to equal the new volt, and maybe go beyond. 30 miles is quite meh. this is a good california car though. hybrid, and RWD only.. i don't see this initially selling much outside of cali
  21. these sell well in the compressed areas of urbanity. they're cheap and small. Despite how bad the car is, Mitsu is really carving out a niche for themselves here and it keeps the lights on at their dealers. And maybe build some future repeat biz..... to get a 10 yr powertrain wty on a car like this is a big thing.
  22. a lot of power and tq from 1.5 liters...... not sure if a good thing anymore.......
