  1. Honda's never done turbo well so this is encouraging. When i drove the 2.0 I thought it still had the interior noise and tinniness typical of Honda's but for the economy and power of that turbo mill, it may be an ok tradeoff, considering the prices. Nothing can be as crappy in noise etc. as my cobalt
  2. Nice update. I may take a look at this when it comes out. It loses some of the weirdness of the current model, and it seems pretty roomy etc. Much like the new Civic, some Japanese cars I am warming too as they lose their Japaneseness.
  3. it actually is I bet. Sat in the civic again the other day. 4 6 footers can easily fit in there. The car feels more spacious than a Mazda6. Even though its lower, it really feels in size more like the older Accords. Honda absolutely nailed the packaging on this car. I usually despise Hondas but i believe despite all of Honda's crap that they hit it out of the park here. This is going to define mainstream car for a lot of buyer groups. And i think having this larger Civic coupe probably means it would outsell the Accord coupe like gangbusters and may even put the Accord coupe out to pasture. I haven't driven the turbo yet, i should check it out soon. If the new Cruze comes in too short on the size meter inside, this might be my defacto 'compact' choice, if my Malibu choice doesn't come to fruition. I love the cupholder set up in this car. Use the 2 in a row, or slide the insert back and use all the space for your 52 oz. And the armrest is perfect placed for caressing your big gulp. About the only area they failed on here is the small and dull looking center radio stack / display. I think they could have added some wow factor here. It looks really cheap and basic. Even for an econocar.
  4. just reiterating, this is a good idea.
  5. I really like the Encore, and really like the interior redux here. Saw the Envision at the AS this past weekend and it looks nice a good step up in size from the Encore.
  6. Love blu's topic but gotta admit, Drew's burn was spit out your drink epic, ! Side note, this underscores how much of a great job GM did on Volt 1. For some strange bizarre reason I was doing research on Ford C Max hybrid Energis last night and oh boy that vehicle doesn't have much love (the non plug ins are not so bad i guess). You want a cheap hybrid go find one of those. GM really needs to pump all that they can into EV's and Voltecs and become the LEADER again. Volt / Bolt etc. is a foundation to GREATNESS. Even the Spark EV's get great user comments.
  7. I spent a lot of time in the new Pacifica at the local auto show this weekend. Breath of fresh air. Nice interior, simple controls, great design. Car and Driver has a first drive review. http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2017-chrysler-pacifica-first-drive-review so does Motor Trend. not much meat in the articles but it sells ads. http://www.motortrend.com/news/2017-chrysler-pacifica-first-drive-review/
  8. It was funny, a few days ago there was a Chevy ad that popped up when, i was either surfing or was in auto trader. The link / ad said (this i forget so bear with me) either build and price or locate inventory. It was specifically an ad for the all new Cruze. So I clicked on it and it went to Chevy's site but to a dead page more or less. So maybe the ad was set up to be ready but the distribution just is not quite ready yet. My guess they will, like the Volt, and similar to Ford and the Edge in 2015, ship it as the current model year. I think it will be a 2016, even if its not a long year. It is getting late though.
  9. http://www.motortrend.com/news/2016-gmc-acadia-remain-sale-alongside-new-2017-model/ "Old Acadia will be renamed Acadia Limited for 2017 model year." However, no timetable was given regarding when the older car will eventually go out of production. Their 'ballsy' move to cut off the old one so soon was likely met with howls from p'oed dealers and customers. This is a win win however, since they would still building the Enclave and the Traverse. There will no doubt be 17 Acadia Limited still on the show floor this time next year. Just now finally the Malibu Limiteds are getting sparse. Sidebar= will there even be a 2016 new Cruze at this point. Its really getting late in the model year......the Cruze Limited is still all that is available.
  10. i was just looking at the 17 trax interior pics. I bet a lot of the bits end up close to exact same....like the gauges and touchscreen area.
  11. good to see the updates. Good to have the continuity in front beaks between the Spark, Trax, Sonic. The interior updates will be most welcome. Sucks there are no pictures. Still no new 16 Cruze's in the showroom. GM takes FOREVER to get there cars to market after they show pictures. Who knows if this is vaporware.
  12. http://www.autoblog.com/2016/03/17/2017-honda-crv-spy-shots/ Honda CR-V set to grow in its next-generation Extra-long rear door suggests a three-row model is on the way. "It's been accepted that cars grow with each successive generation. Honda looks to be stretching that theory as it conducts testing of the next-generation CR-V. It's big." So, the CR-v is getting BIGGER. (and may even get a third row....ala Rogue perhaps)? So, the Terrain is getting SMALLER. CRv will probably outsize the current Terrain. Now the Terrain will be on the smaller end. wth, huge miscue, GM Still think it would have been wiser to call this new Acadia either the Envoy or move the Terrain up. The downsized is to be Terrain could have been the new nameplate. Leave the Acadia name for the Xl sized, like people are familiar with. Interesting bit. I chatted a bit at the auto show last wkd with the GMC product person / model / spokesperson, etc. and said, they should have kept it the same size. She said something to the effect of trying to space out the 'length' of all the different models. I get that. But length is only one component. New Acadia has 1/3 less cargo room and barely matches a current CRv now. Actually, she said something about possibly getting rid of the Yukon as well (Don't know if it meant both lengths of the Yukon). Other thing said was if people wanted a vehicle the size of the current Acadia they are supposed to go for the Yukon. Well again, that is flawed because the Yukon is a truck, not a crossover, and its like 15 grand more. That's why 100,000 Acadias a year sell like they did. "It's been accepted that cars grow with each successive generation." Grow, not shrink
  13. "I had it for all of a week before my "I'll never drive a minivan" wife took it over" we ended up with our town and country after getting a caravan as a rental one weekend. We had been shopping Acadias, traverse, Explorers at the time. After that weekend, it was 'i really liked that van'. that's how we got our T&C
  14. i have noticed the autotrader sale listed prices of the diesels have really dropped in the last 3-6 months. I wonder if similar issues have contributed to this.
  15. I found the new Lacrosse more Lexus like and less Malibu like. I have never really considered the Lacrosse as sporty. To be honest the new car in Photos really show no interest to me but in person I really thought it was a very nice car and at a price that it should do well. it was really interesting how one of the guys said the 'fender swish' (or whatever term he used for it) was different on the new LaCrosse than on the whole preceding Buick history. Guess they notice when someone screws with the SWEEP SPEAR
  16. pretty amazing deal for the performance and kit. 10 speeds and insane HP + refinement for 60k. nuts.
  17. 2.0 i think would be an ok engine choice in certain trims. 3.0tt should be in here eventually if they want cred
  18. 10 SPEED TRANNY MARK REUSS RIDE ALONG http://www.motortrend.com/news/ride-along-with-mark-reuss-in-the-2017-chevrolet-camaro-zl1-wvideo/
  19. http://www.caranddriver.com/news/2017-chevrolet-camaro-zl1-photos-and-info-news move topic etc. as fit WHAT A BEAST
  20. I would think that after 10+ years, we'd be able to joke with each other. Yes, I did infer that, and it's cool w/ me. All in good fun.
  21. Pacifica sort of looks a little like something Renault or Peuguot might sell in Europe too.
