  1. been having fun configuring a Ford Maverick on ford vehicles.com A base Maverick with copilot and sunroof, front drive hybrid. 23-ish k. You can get a sunroof on the base vehicle! The 2.0 turbo would be awesome though, too. I am not a pickup fan but the Maverick could get me into one and bring me back to Ford. Not just yet, ... wish I could just buy one to have an extra vehicle...... really just for picking up light duty things at the home store. And with the hybrid I would get mpg far exceeding what my cracker box Cobalt ever got. It redefines a 'basic economy car'. I have to tip my hat to Ford. They have done genius things by assigning the Mustang name to a BEV crossover. Brining back the Bronco brought back some buzz for them. and they basically took and launched other new vehicles off the milquetoast new Escape,...the Bronco Sport (otherwise known as the 2021 2000 escape) and now Maverick. They are leveraging that platform with many distinct vehicles. They will sell millions of vehicles off that platform. I think the Maverick will catch on and be a huge hit. Wish Mary and GM had a clue. IS GM doing anything to generate any excitement? GM is a dead company to me. Apart from the Corvette.......and the Suburban / Tahoe..... and pickups.
  2. love all the screens.....even one available on the passenger side.
  3. https://www.foxbusiness.com/lifestyle/dodge-durango-suv-stellantis-profits EV lip service. Stellantis thriving because they know American customers want substance in their vehicles. The includes v6 and v8 engines. Performance models. Size and solidity. Making profits off ancient models like Challenger, Charger and Durango and smart new models like Jeep Grand Cherokee L. Different from GM, GM makes tiny cars with tiny turbo motors (except trucks and suburbans). GM and Mary should take a hint from Jeep and Dodge and Ram and stop doing things like getting rid of 2 liter motor options from the Equinox.
  4. what I think still lacks in the screens on the cars yet, is a nice high resolution screen. Our 21 Pacifica has the new higher res 10 inch screen and its one of the best but it still doesn't match the resolution of this Retina 27" iMac I am typing on right now. The TourX has a shitty 8" screen that looked high res two years ago but now looks extremely grainy in comparison to the Pacifica. Aftermarket sellers will have an opportunity in a few years to offer screen replacements at higher res so if you buy a 2018, 2019, 2016 hopefully if you are still driving it 10 years later you can swap out the screen and get a nice crisp screen to make it seem newer.
  5. I thought when I brought the car to the dealer for the control arm fix that I got the .9 version upgrade but for the life of me I can’t find in the menus what version it is. It does have factory nav and hd radio. It is a terrible sounding system. Since these Regals are ‘German cars’ I guess now we get to join the ranks of the German car douchebags club that is mostly comprised of Bmw / merc / audi drivers
  6. how the heck often does THIS HAPPEN?
  7. Makes sense but the Regal is a 2019 and I am unsure any products out there that can replace the factory unit since it controls all the climate and settings for the car as well. Software updates haven’t solved anything.
  8. Ah, some more recent pics. Really glad we got this when we did and we missed the big price spikes that are going on in the market now. On a trip a couple weeks ago, we pulled 27 mpg on a couple of legs at mostly interstate 75-80 mph. Some of it hilly and windy. This is not bad as our fwd 18 Pacifica would occasionally get 30 or more on same trip routes. Makes sense, the AWD of this new one of course drops the mpg about 15 percent in the sticker, and in real world its about that much as well. Whereby the FWD would turn super low rpms sometimes on the highway, it seems the AWD required that the rpms be 300-400 rpm or more higher much of the time when driving. I am ok with that tradeoff for being in snow country and this being the main family ride. If I ever had this van for myself as a secondary vehicle, I may choose the FWD and lose the weight and drag......would not be easy to decide.
  9. coming up on two years of ownership in a month or so. have only put about 13,500 miles on the car myself so far. been driving more recently, and actually the gas mileage has now been consistently in the 25-26 range with the nice summer weather and the steady diet of Costco top tier premium gas. The mpg has noticeable improved over last year as the car is apparently breaking in more and more. it's too bad the stereo sucks so bad, and that the radio / head unit / software is so temperamental. If I get rid of the car anytime down the road (and I hope to keep it a long time), it will be a shame that is it due to the stereo sucking....or wanting to 'sit higher up'. Or both. If the Blazer's interior wasn't so cheesy, and if GM hadn't packaged their options so poorly and ridiculously expensive, that would have been what I had ended up in instead.
  10. My brother in law just stopped by from out of town, he travels a lot for work. His rental du hour for this week is a 21 sonata. Perhaps many of these Kia and Hyundai sedans are rentals now too. Altima’s used to be rental queens.
  11. i see a K5 at least everyday, and even in places that used to be GM strangleholds up here (ruralish communities) dealers must be doing bangup lease deals on them or simply maybe there are just many in stock and available at the dealerships. Probably some risky credit deals too
  12. LOL, I hadn’t noticed that. yup, that’d be him coffee and heaters
  13. I just don’t get the feelin for the telluride or palisade. The Kia in particular looks cheap on the road and the times I’ve sat in either of them at the auto shows, while being nice, don’t warrant superlatives. while for some these are surely a good choice in comparison to Gm’s Barra-ized Acadia for the same money, the pair to me is not a slam dunk in the segment. Merely a good competitor that honestly to me looks a bit small yet. reality is Kia and Hyundai are being enabled to flood the market with all sorts of new products and GM pats itself on the back if they put a new front end on the Enclave and don’t even redesign part of the dash to give it a larger screen. GM is normalizing retreat and Hyundai and Kia are being over rewarded by the press mainly because they just keep churning out new products and entering new segments. seeing new Kia K5’s all over the place around here and GM wants to get rid of all sedans basically. Is Kia the new easy credit mfr? (Or has been for awhile). Gm doesn’t seem interested in the concept of market share anymore ….for quite awhile actually ….
  14. Found this at my Moms. My dad in his Corvair. At least I thinks it’s Corvair?

  16. Met mom and her DTS as she drove part way to our place for the weekend. Her first long trip with the 11 DTS she got last summer. I drove it. Firmer ride than the 2002 or 3 which was it, she finally sold recently. Took an opportunity to get some pics of hers and my TourX together. She says hers is fast because it has 8 cylinders. I keep telling her, "mine is faster" because it is, despite less than half the displacement...mine has tUrBo? the evening sunlight was hitting the cars just right.
  17. 2022 turd! I mean, tundra https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a36768837/2022-toyota-tundra-official-photo-released/?utm_campaign=likeshopme&utm_medium=instagram&utm_source=dash hudson&utm_content=www.instagram.com/p/CQR-oRVlDLY/
  18. The styling was bad. I do think if the Camaro, or a new model similar to it, went back to a hatchback design with a spacious cargo hold like the rageous, and all wheel drive option were out there. It would be a neat unique market offering. Or, maybe a non cadillac version of the escala?
  19. maybe after all this time, for those wanting a performance oriented car with utility, maybe the PONTIAC RAGEOUS was what we really should be looking at, almost 25 years later??? all the liabilities of the Camaro as a daily driver / practicality, 4 doors, and for winter places if AWD would be taken care of here. Imagine the trip to Lowe's with the hatchback and folding seat....maybe even able to haul drywall https://www.motor1.com/news/95302/pontiac-rageous/
  20. worthwhile endeavor. this is how technology improvements R&D can be paid for. Rather than making car prices out of reach. Fuel diversity is not a bad thing. One type of propulsion mandated, bad thing. We'll need gas and electric and other sources for all our propulsion and transportation needs.
  21. “The next model introduction in the revival of Opel following decades of stagnation under the management of General Motors will be a new Astra compact hatchback, a previous generation of which was briefly sold in the United States as a Saturn.” https://www.motorauthority.com/news/1132510_arrival-of-new-astra-marks-next-step-in-opel-s-transformation astras get 2 iPads on the dash, Tesla’s only get one
  22. Anyone else see this yet? FIRST EVER!!!!! COROLLA CROSS!!!!
