no prob, buddy. enjoy the good life with stuff like that. I was just chuckling at how it probably will be 2015 before we see a Camaro. I can only add two bits about women and sex. I get the sense you are just starting to find out how men and women are programmed completely different when it comes to how much sex you need or want. Guys can have sex and enjoy it as a part of everyday life. Women like to attach conditions and contingencies to it and like to use it as a tool. Not all do, but many do. And then, you find that after you date, get married, have kids, whatever.....the woman's appetite dries up while the man's still goes strong. Then, the guy wants it and the woman can live without it most of the time. Then all sorts of emotional cans of worms come about. A lot of women cannot relax enough to just have sex for sex, which is fine for most men. For men its a need. For women its a roadblock to just about everything else in their lives. When women get stressed, they avoid sex. When men get stressed, they want sex. And I guess we all know how that works itself out.

I really wonder why the Envoy XUV never developed a following. I really do think it has a similar usefulness to the Ridgeline, Avalanche, etc.

Just believe that being there for your daughter in whatever way possible is the best thing. Whatever is bound to happen between you and Marcia will take its own course (good or bad) and through it all, keep your eye on the prize and you will find a way, in some way, to be as big a part of your daughter's life as you want and she needs you to be. If Marcia is a type A as you say, well, I've known and even been with some type A's and I can say that those types have such a need to be around so many people and always need large amounts of attention and affirmation. Not knowing your situation with her first hand, maybe she simply has such a hunger for friends and human contact and affirmation from so many, that her demands simply overwhelm your ability to keep up. Type A's need to have it all and are so high maintenance. And maybe she isn't old and mature enough yet to realize she can be happy with what she already has. No one is an expert I guess so I could be just spewing crap, but panther I'd hate so much for you to be trying so hard to please her and yet still not being able to please her, if you know what I mean. I am always a proponent of trying to make it work, but it sounds like you are more than willing. She may not be in that place yet. It sounds from your description that you've been giving and giving and giving and it still is not enough for her. I am sure if you say your temper can be bad, but you are working to improve that, that can only help. But I can't imagine that your temper isn't justified sometimes if she is lying, making you work your ass off and change your livelihood for her, and she is being with other 'platonic' male friends. It sounds like maybe her health issues contribute greatly to both your overall stress as well. All things heal over time its just, in what form do they heal? It seems like you could use some help from friends and family to have some occasional hands around the house. But with our two year old and no family or friends real close, I know totally how hard it is to find that occassional helping hand to make things easier in the day to day life. Although breakup is ultimately one possibility, you have to believe to the core of your very being that you cannot give up on the chance of making it work just yet. She says it is ending already. I would say you are just beginning a next step and you would rather see where that goes instead of packing it in. Tell her you have invested so much in your relationship and now with your daughter you only feel more committed to make it work and that you would feel cheated for the rest of your life if you both didn't commit to staying together and building your family and relationship. You need to ask yourself if you love her as much or more now than you ever have. If so, you cannot let her back out, because of how much you value her and your daughter. If she cannot commit in a renewed way on the same level, then you need to move on to the next step. You need to ask her to say she can commit to you, and you only. Lay all your cards out on the table. Tell her you love her beyond anything else and you promise to be commited to her and rebuild your relationship. I would give her an ultimatum to do the same. If it turns out her interest lies elsewhere, with another, or anything like that, than YOU are being cheated. But please don't ever think of ending it, because so many people need you in your life. You can make it through the setbacks....it will be harder than anything....but if for anyone, know that your daughter needs to have you there, because she already loves you so much. And you'd want to be here when the Camaro comes out finally in 2015 or whenever, anyways. Imagine a fossilized Lutz trying to crawl in and out of a 2015 pony car. That alone is worth hanging around for.

in the LaCrosse the 3.6 only has 240 hp. I don't see them outspeccing the LaCrosse. 240 vs. 268 is a sizable diff on the spec sheet.

many folks who are moving to crossovers are coming out of sedans. in droves.

Solstice Production Boosted; Saab Kappa Considered
regfootball replied to Bimmer325's topic in General Motors
Saab Sonnet revival is a great idea. -
the next Vue likely won't be sourcing a HONDA engine.
-
huge congrats, Josh. way to go on getting a Solstice!

we all know the Ridgeline's main purpose was to carry Honda dirt bikes. It was developed as the perfect Honda accessory for the punks who need to tote their CR's.........they made it offroadable enough to drive around the pits during the race.
-
exactly. domestics get ripped in the press if they can't push 100,000 units of something, but Honda plops a turd on the asphalt and sells 50-60k and they achieve greatness and are excused by having to scale back production.
-
yes the equinox interior plastic is among the worst in the industry. even when the new Vue comes out it will have an uphill climb against this RAV 4 especially if it has to outdo 268hp as an optional engine.
-
if GM and Ford cut MSRP's 1000 across the board.......

damn, if there had been no Aztek to buy what would I have bought? It is actually the most appealing thing we've owned, looks and mediocre engine aside. Ridgeline owners, my buddy gets 15mpg in his brand new Pilot. You're gonna have to try awfully hard to convince me you're getting 23mpg with that overtaxed torqueless VTEC thingamajiggy under the hood. And I've read enough owner reviews on Edmunds and other web sites of your uglee truck to know that my buddy's 15 mpg is not that far from the norm for that thing. Somebody with chopping skills, I could send you a photo of my Aztek, you can chop it into a an Aztek pickup to compete with the Ridgeline.
-
sorry to say it, but this thing pretty much has all bases covered. it doesn't appear to heave any flaws that will be exploited by the press or the buying public. I suspect they will sell assloads of them, it will cannibalize CRV, Camry, Equinox, Escape, and many other car and small crossover models. It will also hook buyers moving down from used Blazers and stuff. As bad as crap like the new Yaris is, this and IS 300 really demonstrate that sometimes you can't rip Toyota. If GM were only this thorough. And we all wonder why GM and Ford are going in the tank with their 6 year old Escapes, pushrod Equinoxes and the like. The Equinox interior was already worse than a Kia Rio in terms of interior plastics....now look at how bad it is compared to this thing.

The way toyotas ads lately are going....I suppose tonight I'll go home, watch a little TV, and some Toyota ad will come on, inferring that I'm a child killer if I don't trade in my SUV for a Highlander, 4runner, Sequoia, etc. I suppose the commericals tonight will say if I don't return my new Ford 500 ASAP and turn it in for a mediocre Camry, they'll tell me I'm an evil sinner in the eyes of Jesus Christ and that I should be going straight to hell. Maybe they will tell me I'm a wifebeater, a criminal, etc. as well. Well, we all know that forever that Lexus is the only car to drive if you are interested in the 'relentless pursuit of perfection'.

blow it out whatever. my issue here is with Toyota's in your face and over the top advertising. I've test driven the Sienna a few times, its a good product. I do not think its head and shoulders above all the other vans in the segment. The only differentiator they can fall back on is their supposed reliability, which they share with Honda. So their product is not better, just merely equal. And most folks think the Caravan is just fine. i know several folks who had nothing but good things to say about their Caravans aside from a few mechanical issues. Honda has trannies blow up in their vans too. I am not a GM van fan myself either. The Fords have been decent vans if you don't need the most stylish thing. Toyota has no ability to lay such in your face claims about their product being the messiah and they are claiming that, and that's what my issue is. Their pompousness will backfire eventually and I hope it does in a big way. I hope they come down to earth soon, because just like with hollywood stars, the media and public loves to build you up and then tear you down with all their might. The media is setting Toyota up on a pedestal and on the flick of a switch will be more than happy to destroy them. I personally wouldn't mind that one bit since they are being so arrogant about it.
-
all they have to do is tell you that it is in an ad and you are supposed to believe it.
-
ok, fast forward to today. i saw a new Sienna ad today on tv, now, toyota is going for the 'mommy jugular' with some closing line on the end of the ad...help me out if i forgot it exactly "At Toyota, it's about the children" or something like it only to insinuate that not choosing toyota means you do not in any way care about children and would actively choose another make of vehicle and have your children die or have their lives compromised in a dreadful way if you make the wrong choice in life and not get that Sienna. Yes mom, you will be a totally inadequte, non caring mom, leaving your child to die a heartless death, if you don't buy a TOYOTA minivan. Bully advertising in its lowest form. Complete lack of class. No subtlety. By now I guess its typical to assume no less from toyota. what a crock of crap. this is just as bad as the ad where they insinuate that you care nothing about the environment if you don't buy a toyota. This pushy type of advertising I find offensive and insulting but so many people in our country today are dumb as a box of rocks as far as thinking for themselves so they all likely take it at word. Is Toyota resorting to these brainwashing corrupt misleading ad taglines just like tainted world leaders of the past used words to coerce their citizens into being blind followers without thinking for themsleves?

if the ridgeline is anything like my buddy's new Pilot, you'll be lucky to see 15 mpg on daily driving, without towing or hauling anything besides a wife that won't put out. The wife doesn't, but the truck sure does suck (fuel). -

   that alone means it should pull a 20,000 pound trailer with no frame damage and also it will get 20 mpg doing it!
