  1. the small back seat was one thing that kept me from seriously considering an 06 imp when i bought recently. its a good car, but the biggest chevy needs more room.
  2. oh no, it should hve been the prius, or azera or worse, a new CIVIC with like 130lbft of torque.
  3. F-COTY LOL but the imp is a good car. as long as they keep it new every 42-48 months........it'll be fine
  4. the current accord's interior looks better and that ain't sayinmuch
  5. there are simply too many sedans out there for ANY one of them to sell half a million. especially a boring looking one. regardless of rep or a new engine, there is a limit to how many consumer reports readers and dull folks there are out there. I would not be surprised if the new camry hits, sales go up for 6 months or year, but them they go down to where they are now or even lose some.
  6. since NWA did such a nice job of getting rid of their overpriced mechanics, maybe GM is using them to see how they can get rid of their workers too.
  7. too retro. B-, it could be better than this. kinda of a half hearted effort if you ask me. if y'all are getting hot over this, no wonder camry's sell so well.
  8. since no one wants the cars they have to advertise the crap out of them and discount the hell out of them just to get anyone in the door.
  9. Yaris- its ugly and only has 1.5 under the hood. the rio, accent, and aveo are all cheaper. anyone wanting a quality built small car will step up to the larger compacts and subcompacts. Plus, the dash. And, we have the Xa already which has not lit up the charts. All that spells 'not a runaway hit' FJ- it will do well intially, but i can't even see it outselling Elements or some Jeeps etc. over the long haul. tundra- they lack all the combos that make the domestics so popular. plus, the loyalty for domestics is incredible. and they may take as many Titan sales as anything. if they add 75k sales vs. now I'll be surprised. Ford and GM will fight this one to the death, and will probably win. if toyota gets cocky with trucks, that could be what spurs the anti-japan backlash en masse. the camry although new i do not see tremendous % growth for them because there is so much other competition. just because they put out a new does not mean a 20% increase. there is NO ONE waiting with baited breath for a new camry. its a commodity. the RAV will cannabalize the highlander as well as get plenty of new sales and i see the RAV as being the biggest gainer. detroit will incentivize their competitors, but the toyota buzzkill will pay off here. thing is, a newer highlander must be a year away or so. it seems like the RAV in v6 form may be a bit high priced compared to what you can get for little more in a Pilot or Endeavor, both of which are bigger. where he pulls his sales gains from, i don't know.
  10. civics and azeras are where its at!
  11. lance, have you met sheryl crow?
  12. let me say this IF indeed they canceled the 08 malibu but are still going ahead with the camaro...... THEN THE PRIORITIES ARE ALL FUC-ED UP.
  13. that Aura rebadged as a chevy might end up being the next malibu. it IS built in farifax and its a great way to hedge bets if the Aura doesn't sell.
  14. oh God, pushrod vs OHC again. OHC can be tuned for torque and emissions. the pushrod uses a few fewer parts and can be more compact sometimes. Historically the proof is there that at least for 4 cyl and v6 engines that OHC designs have better running characteristics all around. which would expose why pushrod engines have been popular to GM. Cost, saving money, and probably production, union, supplier contracts they cannot flex around. northstar, i agree. but i think the 5.3 FWD v8 is a great idea and maybe the 3.9 has potential. Aside from that and the corvette/CTSv type cars, GM should make the global hf engines typical.
  15. AGREED
  16. no toyota for me then, if the maxima is available, its getting an interior redo soon. i could get an STS or CTS. a 9-3 aero would be cool too. of course i'm good for awhile.
  17. the interior plastic and feel of the swtiches is lacking. the powertrain has sort of an 'electric motor smoothness' about it though.
  18. i haven't seen them BUT I WANT TO
  19. my comment at urban sprawl was meant to point out that the term itself is purposely created as a derogatory term by fanatical liberals to punish folks for wanting to utilize our nation's land for what we actually need it for.....for living, working, etc. the next motive of the liberal urbanite anti-suburbia movement is to destroy the suburban growth so the tax base remains in the core cities where inefficiency and excessive politics needs it to survive. if they can keep wealth and tax base in the core, then the risk of core cities becoming politically and idealistically irrelevant is less. i'm all for cities remaining vibrant, but core cities never seem to be willing provide what most average middle class folks want for it to be attractive to live there. there always seems to be an agenda. many folks go to suburbs because there is less agenda, fewer rules, and more space and freedom. And less of propping up those who aren't quite keeping up.
  20. sweet. oh she has nice legs.
  21. if bland, soulless cars with no personality, style, or character is our future, then i guess its time to sell the cars and move to a hut in the deep recesses of Idaho. I've done the toyota appliance thing. its so dull.
  22. in print, sure. go to the dealer though and TRY to find one that has a sticker anything close to base price.
  23. the grand prix does have some of the best seats out there as far as affordable cars. nice nd supportive. very tight fit. yeah.
  24. too bad its not an 07 but an 09
