  1. are the motors iron block? lost the iron block and the heavy panorama sunroof and make the hood aluminum and maybe you get that thing down around 3350 pounds for the v6.
  2. I've seen this car on the lots....but tonight I think was the first time I saw one live on the drive. I parked next to it at the Target. It was sharp! RED. Manual transmission. Tan/Black interior. High polished wheels and panorama sunroof. Love that car. Now I wonder why I didn't look harder at getting one. I think its just a hair smaller than what I want and honesly I think the car is a bit narrow. Oh, and the pushrod thing. Anyways, in red, a very sexy car. The big wheels do everything for the look. I was impressed someone bought a stick version.
  3. i always got 20mpg all the time out of my v8 SHO and i get over 20 with my five hundred so i don't get why the 3.0 taurus won't get 22-23. and those are all in town. My 500 can get like 25-30 on the highway. I have test driven some 3.0 duratec taurus' that are pretty quick and not any faster or slower than the caminblock GM's. My 500 is pretty quick above 35-40 mph. Whoever was getting 16mpg with a v6 duratec taurus maybe needs to put a new air filter on there and run some fuel system cleaner through the car and maybe even get some new plugs. Your not going to see an appreciable in town mileage difference between a GM boat anchor v6 and a duratec ford. In fact, nearly any sedan that is mid-large and weighs between 3300 and 3800 pounds is gonna get around 20 mpg in metropolitan driving. Something like the 3800 does get exceptional highway mileage. it depends on how much real interstate driving you do in order for there to be a benefit vs. worrying about whether you're gonna have....'those issues'.....
  4. so dumb question, but can i apply the xymol wax over the zaino? I've got like 3 layers of the zaino 2 and 5 on there, i just want the wax on there to protect it better from the elements.
  5. i loved the camaro jab in the article. at 40k, its BMW 4 me, but you actually buy a 40k caddy for much less. can't wait for the 08
  6. more specifically its a capacity issue with the brain sizes of GM's management and execs who attempt to run the company
  7. crap. complete crap.
  8. go check out an 07, they fixed that. its luxurious now actually.
  9. and the five hundred is nice, its just not sporty. i would even pass on the fusion and such. i hate to say it, but....VUE.
  10. in theory the element is nice for loading kids but once you realize the front door has to be open to open the rear doors, its actually very kid unfriendly. another reason why we went for the aztek. its ugly like the element, but more usable and larger in real life. the stroller only takes up part of the trunk, not all of the trunk like so many small suv's and most sedans. everyone curses SUV's but the reasons they do so well is they can swallow a stroller and a pack and play and still have tons of room left for adult things on a trip. something to think about. satty, you probably don't have to worry about front or all wheel drive, do you?
  11. cheap looking. GM fks it up again. they got rid of the upper display too. GEEZ. morons. yes its easier to run, but it looks cheap now to boot. i could see this interior in a Malibu, but that dash is dimestore. the saab seats have always been nice. at least they didn't botch that. further proof GM is being run by a lot of folks that don't give a rats ass about what you get for YOUR money. I bet the JETTA interior comes off way better than this to most buyers. If you change something, it should be for the better usually. NOT WORSE. I bet they didn't even upgrade the dash plastic.
  12. yeah the last few vettes have had fat asses. but sometimes it makes them look like a supercar. I love the cayman. love the vette. can't i have both?
  13. i should have just got another tuarus, but when you have had 2 already and your dad has had three, the thought of getting another one made me physically ill. actually, what about a Sable.....? Slightly unique in comparison. Still cheap. as much as i loathe the sonata, you could make a case for it here. cheap transport and fairly ok. i would say galant v6 but i know you despise mits. if you drove one and experimented with car seats and long legged kids you'd enjoy the fact that its family friendly and spacious and still fun to drive. What about a used Impala? I bet a used v6 Magnum might even be getting into the reasonably priced category. Occasionally you can find used S60 Volvos that become affordable and you know those are safe, and they are spacious, at least in front. The S60's weakness is lack of leg room in back. its got plenty of girth though.
  14. winger is reuniting for a new album soon........BTW
  15. if you get a taurus at least you know its got great safety scores. the Fusion side imapct tests are not even matching the taurus IIRC. By the time you need one, you will be able to find a used 06 or 07 taurus for around 11 grand maybe. i got my 500 and one big reason was the top in class safety, which you think a lot about with a kid. that said, its not fun to drive. I really wish i would have got something sporty, but at least if i crash, i've got a solid chance of me and kid doing ok. It really adjusts your thinking when car shopping. there are lots of sedans that would fit the bill for you I bet. enjoy shopping. see satty.......you are now a perfect candidate for one of those buy a Raider, get a Galant free deals.........HAHA! or better yet, buy a tahoe get a cobalt. better yet, just get the minivan now. once your woman sees someone open a sliding van door with the remote control.....its over. New chrylser vans, under 15k, get em while you still can and they are not ugly.....
  16. i so badly wanted one when i was in HS. i like that style.
  17. only positive......if the head unit has a dvd screen, the back roows can watch it when parked.
  18. wow. this has to be a prototype because that dash looks positively horrible. its so bad, it makes the current chrylser sebring dash look like an audi. it makes the horrible LX trio car interiors look chic and expensive. a little Galanty, but even the Galants stack is not that atrocious. damn, its even trying to imitate the ford vans too I think! my god, hyundai cars look positively lush compared to this sht. maybe i need to get one of the good chrysler vans now while i still can! Wow, Honda and Hoyota must be high fiving each other with big sighs of relief. Our great American business leaders have done it again. The special executives that are worth millions, they've costed and cheapened this thing to the point where it will tank in the market now, too, leaving yet another segment to be dominated by the starch crowd. If Chrylser fks up the van segment its bye bye. Wow, i never thought anyone at DCX would let it get this bad and make this huge of a mistake. The executives and accountants and purchasers and beancounters at Chrylser should all be fired if this is what comes through. update: the quest for 2007 don't look so bad now, does it? Looks like the Sedona will be making some huge sales gains.
  19. sorry to hear about that satty, but we're all glad you're alright.
  20. DEAR GOD I thought we killed the screaming chicken.
  21. those are some pretty stunning shots
  22. mercedes is a bling car. no thanks for me. that blue cayman photo from the front quarter showing the sill flare up behind the door has me reeling! MY GOD THAT'S HOT!
  23. WHITE LION was a little weak.
  24. I wasn't a huge SKID ROW fan.
