  1. I'm in a construction related business and the folklore me and my comrades over the ages hear as the case is every 7 years.......no matter what it averages out to 7 year swings that must be the pre determined cycle the global banking cartel has everyone on.
  2. discounts = sales GM didn't really break out discounts till last month. see the result. price does matter to car buyers
  3. I sorta like these. IF you can get one cheap lease i think its alright. A BMWphile acquaintance has two other bmw's and he has one of these as a go to work car....a lease prob. some of the interior parts are cobbled from other BMW cars, like the climate control panel. won't all cars be like this in 10-15 years? with the electric mandates...... I would get one under the right circumstances, just to be different.
  4. Lexus sold 100,000+ RX crossovers last year and 40,000+ NX crossovers last year. This year maybe more. Not bad for non upright / coupey rakish roof crossovers instead GM wants to sell vehicles in 2018 that evoke their badgegasm of trucky offerings from 2005
  5. No, it's more like We don't need a SEDAN for every 10 inches of overall length from 160" to 210"
  6. Past 15,000. Chevy is not far off on combined mpg. New 25 mile best! 47.4 mpg
  7. i would have had the go ahead from wife on the Chevy Volt last time around if it hadn't been so small. Bolt is still too small. But at least it has more headroom and better seating for larger, taller dudes. Rather than rehash an Acadia into a new Blazer, maybe Chevy should take a Malibu sized platform and make a sexy plug in hybrid crossover that handles like a fine sedan.
  8. just that it sucks apart from that LOL we could always go back to these I miss our red Aztek often but our minivan helps us fend off crossover lust. LOVE having a van in the house. Wife found a patio table and chairs on craigslist a couple weeks ago. We stowed the second row, folded the third and went and picked it up in one trip. Aztek was a 3/4 scale minivan (literally). VVVVV DOESN'T LOOK SO BAD THESE DAYS DOES IT VVVVVVV
  9. The common public misconception is that crossovers have all this space but if you measured the length and width of many crossover cargo areas, they are smaller than many sedans. They may have more height....but even the crossovers with the most upright rear glass still have converging roofs, and don't forget many crossovers have very high load floors as well. We had a taurus x that had more of a minivan floor. Most llike the above, even if the roof is higher on the vehicle, the load floor is quite a bit higher than a sedan as well. Basically i believe people have gone to crossovers because they don't have to bend down to get in and out, and they like the higher seating position. And seating is more comfy because its more chairlike. the illusion of additional storage is that people can fold a seat and there is no obstruction from the sloping rear window a sedan has. Why i like minivans is you actually do get more space due to the low load floor. Look the newest Acadia. Even with its trucky rear end it doesnt have any big cargo area advantage over similar sized vehicles like i posted photos of. The Edge actually has a fairly big cargo area (but only 2 rows of seats). The Dodge magnum was a great setup. Long and wide cargo area, fold down seats, and the hatch hinge was further back into the body. as you suggest here, i think Chevy should move the Impala nameplate over to a 2 row, sporty fastback crossover. Large in size, comfortable, but something evoking some of these newer designs like the GLE etc.
  10. chevy / gm needs to have a few products that look less like a wagon / truck and more rakish (for a crossover)
  11. Watch Johan@Cadillac latch onto this!!!!! probably sweating with excitement over this
  12. GM is really missing out on carlike crossovers. If this is just a new Acadia clone with a truckish demeanor, some folks will dig it, but GM needs to make a true tall car offering. More Edgelike but even sportier. Blazer will sell ok but i think if its too trucky it won't sell in big volume. we don't need more of these
  13. the small turbo like in my Malibu, doesnt pull hard off the line, stoplight to stoplight. It's very frustrating. That's sucks because at least with the Malibu, it does pretty well at mid range and higher once the turbo is on the boil. I do get killer mpg at times though. I had a 14 mile stretch of 53+ mpg on freeway driving the other day. I'd bet the cruze averages 35 mpg day to day drving in good climate for most folks.
  14. LIFE CYCLES DO HAPPEN GO FIGURE
  15. i think GM will sauce up the new Cruze. It might take two more model years, but i see a much more bodacious front end and resorting to pontiac style bling the be recipe.
  16. Used Spark EV would be a better buy
  17. I'll check back in 10 years, FCA's whole product line will probably still be the same.
  18. Nice write up
  19. i like the styling, but at some point the compromises to me are such that you could get something almost as nice styling wise with better visibility and less claustrophobia. i think chevy thought because of interest in bimmer coupes 1, 2, and 3 and the buzz around the code red concept, that people were moving to smaller cars. Well the truth there is Camaro's can handle like BMW's but will never be considered as fashion accesories as such. the other is that evil CAFE forcing all the room and space out of the cars to squeeze out the extra one or two mpg.
  20. diesel AWD manual with roof racks, in brown. saw a couple diesel manuals advertised for 18-19k. new.
  21. 'transformational' LMAO
  22. BIG DISCOUNTS on Cruze diesels right now. Huge incentives and discounts, in particular I have seen new ones listed for many dollars below 20k. In particular if you want a stick, you can get one for a great price!
  23. BMW needs a car for the 'new credit' 'bad credit' 'first time buyers' 'poseurs with little money' crowds
