  1. what's the big deal? It outsells the mazda at retail. It's just a rebadged Dakota. the Dakota does well.
  2. again, humor to make a point of bad the verona is and how much kia and hyundai suck. has all of America lost its sense of humor?
  3. honda is japanese. they don't break down. you are lying. go back to your room. should you cause any more trouble, the black car will come to pick you up.
  4. i did work at a best buy for five years, a LONG time ago.
  5. ok, explain how my list is not valid in your jaded eyes. empowah's list is not bad either, but i have valid reasons for my pecking order. 1. 07 Altima- this car should have the best all around combination of features, power, handling, style, interior, pricing. cvt, bluetooth, keyless start, killer v6, good prices, updated style. No major weaknesses. 2A. Accord-get by on rep. dull style. still, good power, decently executed if dated interior. lots of tranny and engine choices. they say Honda makes reliable cars. 2B. Aura- 250+ hp, 6 speed paddle shifters, style, great build quality, obscenely good pricing, killer saturn customer service. V6 power for 10-15k less than a v6 passat. 2C. Passat 2.0T- nice car...still its just a 4 popper. The interior is not as well executed as the previous version, neither is the exterior. Price is good for a four cylinder, but the v6 price is a phaeton like pipe dream. 3A. Milan- style, handling, price. Available AWD. Needs more motor and sexier interior. Could use more room. 3B. Fusion- see 3a, except with Gilette grille 4A. Cam-lee- good hp. that's about it. hybrid availability (although its far too pricey and can't come close to advertised mpg)......dull looks and diminishing interior quality. Recent recalls and tranny problems make entire car suspect. not a drivers car by any stretch. pricey for what you get. crappy toyota dealers. computer programmer teal green is sold out through 09. 4B. Impala- great value, mpg, e85, handsomely bland design, DoD. built solid. 4C. 07 Sebring- handsome interior, lots of neat features. German engineering. 5A. Mazda 6- handles well. Sporty Asian look, if you like it. Buzz bomb duratec motor, interior needs help, lacks a bit of room. 5B. Malibu SS- other Malibu models are looks challenged. SS handles well and has good power, while lacking OHC. Great value. lower versions of malibu have multiple issues. 5C. G6- not much to say. new engine and 6 speed on top version this year 5D. Galant Ralliart- nice exterior, new 250+ ho engine, 5 speed auto, handles great, priced good, great reliability ratings. 6. LaCrosse- old world taurus style. available 3.6, 4 sp auto only. a bit cramped with some compromised ergonomics. 7. Grand Prix- pancake roof. overhangs ribbed taillights. small block! 4 spped auto . good value. reliable. tight back seat. cheap center stack. 8. Subaru Legacy- pricey on some models. a little bit small. good quality and handsome interior. 9. Chery- better than toyota. 10. Sonata- good powertrain and decent driving. interior is a mess. rehashed escort style is ok to a point but is not distinctive or original. Lots of these in fleets. good value. worry about whether it holds up. third world plastics. mouse fur seats. 11. Kia Optima same as 10 except the v6 sucks. 12. Susucki Verona- in line 6 with no power and piss poor mpg.
  6. the chery was a humor pick
  7. no, i quit my job so i could spend all week test drving cars.
  8. OH CRAP, you're right! IT WAS THE RDX!!!!!!!!
  9. i could SO haul sheets of drywall in that customer cruiser, and the gods above could them through that VISTA ROOF
  10. you need to make the sunroofs a little sturdier, otherwise, they shatter and fly off like they do on those Scion Tc's.....
  11. jewel=tent, thus she wins
  12. got my R&T in the mail today. I guess this FOUR CYLINDER fuel sucker only got THIRTEEN POINT EIGHT MILES PER GALLON for road and track. 13.8 frickin 400 horse trailblazer SS and SRT8 Grand Cherokee almost got that in testing.
  13. let dumbass pedestrians over there take one for the team. don't those morons have crossing guards or teach their little kids in school to look the frick both ways before crossing the street?
  14. toyota is perfectly happy diverting their resources to making more fuel sucking trucks.
  15. my guess is it was overrated.
  16. my favorite thing is when the dodge dealer by my house drags out the 20 foot tall lizard. JUST A RIOT! they are bound to do that this weekend I bet. A big green inflatable lizard brings them in!
  17. holiday weekends and retail are like keg parties in college. You wait all week for the 'holiday' to go and hit on good looking women (or men ). If a woman wants attention, then she will need to be competing for attention (sales) with all the other women at the kegger. Sometimes chicks figure out that even if they don't have the biggest breasts (i.e. best cars), in order for them to hook up or get attention (sell) they need to market themselves (i.e dress slutty) in order to make a sale. Some chicks, the thin pretty ones with perfect facial features and massive racks and hourglass hips (say, BMW) can sell no matter what but also are going to be marketed to the hilt (dressed slutty) to maintain their superiority over the others. Every guy will want that hot chick; she has no problem getting a ride home after the kegger. So if you are not as attractive (GM), even though you are sweet and stuff, you are going to really market the snot out of yourself to even have a chance of a guy hitting on you (i.e dress even sluttier to accentuate what little you have). At 3 a.m. in the morning all the BMW's have found buyers and luckily through look at me shock marketing some of the not so hot chicks have left the party but hey, not nearly as many as BMW.
  18. yeah, but you had that vehicle earlier in the model year, if even by a couple of days, and that's worth something. the model year is like a ticking clock, the prices get cheaper in the customers value schedule each day of the model year. Especially at year end when all manf's are unloading clearance product. the only time perceived values go up in a model year is high demand time....i.e. when the weather starts to get warm and more people go shopping, or say, for SUV's in the winter Yeah but if the car is rotting on lots at the MSRP than the designers, engineers and marketers and accountants all f'ed up. to cover those mistakes and not have rotting inventory you have to drop the price. Its like at the meat counter in the grocery store. When the steaks start to turn brown under the shrink wrap and the 'sell by' time is like 6 hours away, they throw a sticker on the thing that says "2 dollars off today!". they have to do that to make ANYTHING on the meat, other wise they throw it away and lose money. Now that I will agree with you on. Blame the beancounters and upper management who are completely out of touch with their customers and the culture of their home country. Maybe those folks should get out. Do strippers ever complain about having to work at 2 a.m. in the morning to get the big lap dance money? Well no, but they at some time figured out what to do to get and keep the fluff desk job. So in that aspect, they very few things they did to go on that path pays off huge. Memo to your teenagers, you have to plan those paths and decisions and do what the man says to get big bucks and weekends off.
  19. unless you wanted one with pushrods.........
  20. they sure look darn tacky.
  21. they had the RDX, CX7 and rav 4 in MT and they had the mazda last.
  22. I posted this in the Saturn Aura topic and thought it would make good banter as its own thread. With all the new entries, tell us what or rank your family sedans. Please try to exclude lux and near lux cars. This is middle class bread and butter cars. I originally started comparing Aura vs. Fusion then it brached out. Here's my pecking order, taking into account to a small degree what the buff books may say and how complete a car it is for what you get. this does not neccessarily reflect what i would buy first. 1. 07 Altima 2A. Accord 2B. Aura 2C. Passat 2.0T 3A. Milan 3B. Fusion 4A. Cam-lee 4B. Impala 4C. 07 Sebring 5A. Mazda 6 5B. Malibu SS 5C. G6 5D. Galant Ralliart 6. LaCrosse 7. Grand Prix 8. Subaru Legacy 9. Chery 10. Sonata 11. Kia Optima 12. Susucki Verona which ones did i miss?
  23. spend the 10 grand to import a new SSV
  24. how bout those VISTA roofs? cool as beans vista roof? the custom cruiser makes me moist. I would kill to get one in good shape.
  25. i think that's the best course of action, regardless of emotions right now. could there be a function of your government that could assist with this?
