  1. its useless to buy a car and not be bale to drive it in CA or NY. DCX should sue for this action limiting interstate trade.
  2. regfootball

    ...

because people are calling DCX and protesting how ugly it is
  3. honest Jen, it's not mine.....
  4. women just don't get beef jerky.
  5. oh my sweet stick of meat, you are such wholesome goodness. meat, on demand, and SALTY. Will it ever go bad? If I want, you can SPICE IT UP. sometimes in order for it to go down, you gotta chew it till your jaw hurts. I AM A CARNIVORE. c'mon C & G'ers let's have some love for BEEF JERKY! what is your favorite brand / kind?
  6. thanks. hey i worked at a best buy for 5 years in college. anyways. i will post a pic later of our space. We have a shallow mantel above our fireplace we envision as the spot for our tv. IF we put a DLP on the floor we have to remove furniture. any plasma over 42" would also have to go on the floor. our living room is 2 stories high and had over 200 square feet of window glass with wood blinds over it. I have my sights set on the Westinghouse 1080p monitor if i go LCD. Its gotten good reviews and I can afford it. I really do want to use this tv with a computer, but i don't like the way the large LCD's look. arg.
  7. it would be my first mac at home. in college i used macs and also in my first job out of college. i am tired of windows and all its crap. i want my computer at home to work. windows is still not designed for real everyday people to use.
  8. how many Azeras did Enterprise buy last month? that's your answer.
  9. any internship with such a storied company will be a plus on your resume. considering you are a college freshman, and ford has been around for 100+ years or whatever, i would say the pecking order does not favor you. i.e. unless you have multiple suitors, your status (i.e. college freshman) is right up there with burger flipper, small town stripper, and janitor at K mart. moral-take any good opportunity like that that presents itself and say YES a lot and learn what you can. Wipe the bosses ass with golden tissues if that means you get a reference from him later on. Besides, considering Ford's lack of resources, you might be doing all their engineering for them.
  10. with elections coming up you knew they would drop
  11. THE 'special interest groups' in THOSE states rigged it and made it so no diesel ever passes. There are certain types of people and certain political affiliations that do not want diesel to ever get an inroads here. California, Maine, Massachusetts, New York and Vermont. A bunch of states that think they are above everyone else. The govt ought to pull transportation and road funding from any state that chooses to deviate from national emissions, fuel economy, crash safety, or engineering standards. Any state that wants to 'go its own' ought to be left high on dry on funding then. 'Being different' serves no masters. The rest of the country pays.
  12. ok, i've been shopping a lot lately and this is what I've found Plasma still has a better pic for movies and sports. It may get washed out in daylight some, but if you're smart you have your tv in a room that can be darkened to watch movies. LCD looks good up to about 26" and then its pixels start looking to big. there is a wide variation in the quality of LCD's. Plasmas are a lot closer. 1080p is fairly available in LCD. I saw the world's first plasma 1080p today ta BBY/Magnolia. it was 10 grand and is not otherwise prevalent. its generally suggested to not hook plasma up to a computer. according to some, burn in still exists in plasmas. LCD"s are lighter and more user friendly but look dull and flat. Samsung is the class of LCD's. LG, JVC, Sharp all look pretty good though. Many different plasmas look good. 50 inch is a great plasma size. lots of manufacturer's plasmas look good. Ambilight ont he Phillips TV's are a nice feature. Plasma is heavier, runs hotter on more power. so after all this i think I may wait till next year to get one. New and cheaper always happens and the new Mac computers get announded in a week so I htink I will blow my slush fund on that.
  13. living colour?
  14. the pics are closer to the dash then if you were getting it on with your squeeze. there's plenty of detail in those photos and it don't look that good.
  15. you clean up the vomit yet? that new avenger is absolutely atrocious. the tundra is mediocre like everything else toyota, it's just in order to proclaim themsleves American they thought they would throw in a bunch of cheap plastics and bad switches and knobs. imagine how crappy it would be if they had to pay union labo and decent wages and to make their new plants LEED gold certified. the FJ's interior is absolutely horrific, this appears to be on the same path.
  16. there you go, giving it a pass on reputation. you're worse than 3/4 of those half assed 'auto journalists' out there. the new camry's interior has plenty of cheeseball plastic. what makes you think the tundra didn't escape the beancounters? those knobs and switches look cheaper than those on my 3 year old's toys.......... having already seen the tahoe, avalanche and denali's interior i know the chevy LTZ pickups will be gorgeous inside. with decent knobs and switches.
  17. regfootball

    ...

they would have been better off rebadging this
  18. we should shut down all factories that build anything besides the camry and accord. that should be our only two choices.
  19. cheap interior. overall i like the F-150 and new chevy's better.
  20. especially when the mazdaspeed 3 starts slapping the wussy civic si all around. Let's see, the mazdaspeed 3 will have 250hp and great handling. the cobalt ss will get a boost to 260hp. the caliber srt-4 will peg 300hp. guess which one will win the magazine comparos despite 132 lbft of torque, only at full throttle.
  21. i'm sure there are a bunch of clueless urbanites who grab their CR and head for the toyota dealer and they are much more than happy to pay 50 bucks for the dealer oil changes and like 1000 bucks for a 30,000 mile service. then there were those morons who didn't change the oil in their camrys and stuff and they got sludge. and all the honda transmissions that went bad......... buying toyotas and hondas is how the 'educated' class of people, the pottery barn and crate and barrel set, mainstain their visual 'superiority' over those who have to spend their money on more important things. it defies logic to them to spend less and keep some money in their pocket because they work in jobs that make lots of money. A lot of those industries and stuff are self created. Things like 'consultants', etc......the other group that buys hondas are the youngsters who may have liked civics and honda motorcycles and stuff. GM for example just does not sell to the crate and barrel set nor the 'import performance' crowd. but the MYTh has become so large now , that groups who never bought toyotas before are starting to buy them. Example, an 80+ yo retired farmer in my dad's condo....he has like a 12 yo S-10 with about 200k miles on it, its his tooling truck. He wanted something new. He drank the Kool aid and bought a tacoma. He likes the new Toyota but never drives it. He keeps driving the S-10. He bought the Toyota because of the media and personal influences from outside. He was a happy lifetime GM owner. You can see it in the numbers. toyota goes up 6% one month when Ford is down. Now I don't know if he got a good deal ont he Tacoma, but I bet it was several thousand more than the Chevy. Yet he still drives his chevy that's over a decade old with 200,000 miles and its still going. It's those people GM and Ford cannot afford to lose unless they conquest sales themselves and they still can't do it even with good cars like the Cobalt. Hell, why is it Mazda can oly sell 70,000 3's YTD and the lousy ugly Civic sells like 3-4 times that? The Mazda3 is so much more appealing all around. It just goes to show how the buyers can be a big joke sometimes.
  22. well, i test drove hard and it sucked. proof enough for me. rode like a train car and felt like driving a bus. the quest had much better driving dynamics.
  23. regfootball

    ...

that car makes the camry look like an Audi. holy crap that car is f'ed up looking. just downright UGLEE. A definite 2 bagger......
  24. i wish my monitor was horizontal. i could pull up TTAC on screen and leave a Hot Carl all over it.
  25. if you own a ford or chrysler, 75,000 miles out of an atuo tranny is a godsend........
